Last two weeks the illegality for the removal of proff innocent ujah as the VC of federal university of health sciences otukpo was hatched, using otukpo local blogger called ebony naija to spell head this illegality, at some point this youths even block the entrance of the university so that proff ujah will not enter the university again despite warning from fed ministry of education. This is not even enough as president Tinubu need to remove the newly imposed Prof. Agbo as VC.

Otukpo youth are seeing the VC position as their birth right not knowing that academic thrive in an environment devoid of ethnic sentiment and rascality.

Because the VC is more active in the university. It's like MD and Chairman of a bank in nigeria, the MD is always more popular because they run the day-to-day transactions of the org compared to the chairman. You see or hear from the chairman in public once in a blue moon, the MD more or less reports to the council chaired by the chairman.

The chancellor is the ceremonial head of the school governing body.
It can only encourage its decisions and goals within the institution but cannot enforce

The Chancellor of UNILAG is always a very popular accomplished Nigerian. The current Chancellor of UNILAG, Chief Wole Olanipekun,SAN is more popular in the national public sphere than the VC, Prof Folashade Ogunsola.

Chancellor is a political appointment, which means anyone can be the Chancellor of a University. The day-2-day running of the University is done by the VC, hence the reason why the VC is more pronounced.

I am not sure that you got my point but I understand why most of you make the assumption that VC is more popular than the Chancellor. The case of a University like UNILAG is obviously an exception and I know why

I have never known a time when the Chancellor of UNILAG was not a very known, accomplished and popular Nigerian. It is obvious that the post for the Chancellor of UNILAG is a very well sought after and prestigious post so it will be specially reserved for top of the top very notable and popular Nigerians.

Chancellor is an honorary Chairman of the University Governing Council but VC is the sole administrator of the University.

Same as Bank Chairman and Bank Managing Director.

Some of u guys debating who should be more popular between the chancellor and the vice-chancellor are distracting us from the topic at hand. So after all this set and dawn, Tinubu finally sacked Prof. Odoh, validating some people's stance that Umahi doesn't want the man. I thought they said President Tinubu doesn't have cabal? Very bad news for Ebonyi hopefuls.

How many easterners are VC in South West? once it concerns the useless Tinubu in making useless decisions, una go come out in masse to support it. But when there's a news about the economy una go hide immediately.

The chancellor is a ceremonial position. He is only present at the university for council meetings, ceremonies etc. The VC is a full time employee and the administrative head of the university
