swiz123:Have you noticed that, those who support Tinubu are the ones who demonise Obasanjo. Once you clock this fact, you won't waste your time trying to convince them. Obasanjo like Jonathan has to be pulled down to justify the hardship, hunger and erosion of our purchasing power by the APC led government in the last 9 years. |

Itsrm:You hit the nail on the head with the bolded. It's obvious they don't see their principal surpassing his predecessors in terms of verifiable evidences, so they resort to pull down his predecessors to justify his failure. Some of us complaining have had substantial increase in our income in the past 9 years under APC rule but due to APC's misgovernance the cost of living keeps catching up with our augmented income year-in year-out. Instead of APC government fixing the economy, they keep focusing on the wrong things like blaming PDP throughout Buhari's 8 years,Blaming Buhari for Tinubu's obvious failures etc. Na God remain make dem blame. It's even annoying that the same people who clapped for Buhari all through his disastrous 8 years are the one claiming T-Pain is doing well today. |

GloriousGbola:Why can't Nigeria just engage this Chinese company in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Why can't FG reach an out of court settlement with the company instead of all these embarrassing court judgments every fortnight? I mean the FG should talk to them and know what can placate the company and try work something out for them. All these court judgement against Nigeria don't make Nigeria look good at all. If FG come to an agreement with them, then they should deal with the ex-Ogun governor internally. They know the location of all his assets within the country, let them confiscate his properties, sell them off and use the proceed to pay part of what the Chinese companies are trying to recover from us. Use it to send warning to other people like him that are power drunk and don't care about the consequences of their actions while in power. |

izzou:Was Yaradua worse than Obasanjo? And before you say he didn't stay long, he was there for three years. In comparison, Tinubu didn't need one year to bring us where we are today. |

Itsrm:I get it now. Acknowledging that OBJ and Jonathan did well will mean accepting that APC is a failure. Anytime una catch Raumdeuter and OasisX, just leave the latter for me personally. |

izzou:The bold would've been correct if the attached data did not exist. If u look at the data u will see that OBJ met the economy 4cked and unfucked the country between 1999-2007. Yar Adua building on OBJ's successes further unfucked the country and grew the economy further between 2007 to 2010 . After Yar Adua's demise, Jonathan 4cked the country between 2010 to 2015. Now pay attention; Jonathan's 4ckery of the Economy is nothing compared to what was witnessed under Buhari's regime between 2015 to 2023. T-Pain is there now and the figures down here has shown that for T-Pain to be able to lace OBJ's boot economically, he will have to do more this Agbado economics, divisive politics and appointing gazillion spokespersons to attack anybody that criticizes his government's failure. Every government has its failures but it is not always true that for every new tenure, the previous one becomes better

Itsrm:My point is that you now see that period as "Enjoyment", because you are in a worse one..But the truth is we lamented then. Or are you telling me Nigerians were all happy when OBJ and GEJ ruled. No...We cried. I am not saying APC is good. Nigeria has never been better. The worse it gets, the more we pray for us to go back to Egypt. I have heard people say Buhari is better than Tinubu. But we all wailed for 8 years, abi? |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 8:58am On Nov 21, 2024 |
liveLongNprospa:I was not making argument about OBJ or Military I am simply telling you that as at 1999 to 2007, Nigerians lamented. 2007 to 2015, we lamemted and we preferred the previous regime 2015 to 2023, the same happened Just 2 years later, Buhari seems to be a loving and caring man. By 2032, you will come here and tell us Tinubu was not that wicked. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:58am On Nov 21, 2024 |
It's like people don't even know what is going on. As at this time last year the naira exchanged to a dollar for N795.41, A year after the exchange rate is N1680.95. That is a whopping N885.54 difference and we are here wondering why prices of commodities keep soaring high, we are talking about OBJ not being better than Tinubu ![]() In the words of Charly Boy : OUR MUMU NO TOO MUCH ? |

BlueRayDick:Bro, I've said it before, if we can take the economy back to 2014-2019, I don't mind going back to the salary I was earning then. I remember importing a vehicle, received salary, paid to clear the car and had enough money left to fix it. My salary now cannot even clear a 2003 Corolla . Look at cars for example. People no longer buy because it's too expensive, vulcanisers have less work to do, mechanics are snoring in their shops, filling station owners sell less fuel, shops doing wheel balancing and alignment have less work to do, vehicle part sellers sell less. Everything along the value chain gets affected. How exactly will the economy grow? How will government earn taxes when businesses make losses? And someone is blaming Obasanjo and Jonathan when the problem is clearly self inflicted. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Itsrm(m): 9:03am On Nov 21, 2024 |
swiz123:Exactly. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by liveLongNprospa(m): 9:05am On Nov 21, 2024 |
izzou:We lamented less than we did during the military when OBJ took over. Infact the level of lamentation was dropping during the time of OBJ. That shows progression. We lamented more after apc took over. That shows regression. Like I said, your point doesn't stand. You picked the worst president |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:07am On Nov 21, 2024 |
Itsrm:Baba mi, Companies like Nestle, MTN , Nigerian Breweries , etc that people are looking up to are making losses; so what is the fate of Mukaila auto workshop ? If big companies that pay big taxes are making losses, shey na Muri wey be vulcanizer go come dey sustain the economy with his meagre income? Nigerians never really get a grip on how bad things are. More and more people just keep getting thrown down below poverty line. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 9:08am On Nov 21, 2024 |
liveLongNprospa:True..Nigerians were so so happy when OBJ ruled. I don't even see why you people are crucifying Popi. He didn’t say APC was good. But I can agree with him that we cried as usual when OBJ was there. Factos. Fuel was 22 naira, and Nigerians wailed. Today, we see that 22 naira as bliss. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Itsrm(m): 9:14am On Nov 21, 2024 |
izzou:There's this yoruba proverb that says, "ti obinrin ko ba dan Ile oko meji wo, ko ni mo eyi to daa ni be" We were complaining then but truth is, we were enjoying. We just didn't realise it. Let's just pray as you have said that we won't look back 5 years from now and say we were enjoying now. Surviving will be hell by that time. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by liveLongNprospa(m): 9:14am On Nov 21, 2024 |
izzou:Bros. People were lamenting less under OBJ. There is cold data and people testifying to making more money under OBJ than any other president. Our middle class grew under OBJ. So what exactly is this stubborn stance you are trying to hold on to? If you had picked GEJ I'd even understand. OBJ among all people. Fear God |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 9:15am On Nov 21, 2024 |
izzou:yes you are right obj actually told nigerians to bash his photo soludo lowered the naira because of this, rather than buy a 2004 model pilot, i bought a 2002 model. i was cursing soludo then and yes osho baba was the hero who was taking on obj when obj was reducing subsidy personally i think yardua was teh beginning of teh regression - but he dies in office so he gets a pass he reversed or abandoned multiple obj initiatives like sale of refineries and investment in power sector when obj increased proice of petrol stella chose this time to announce she was the only one who should use title of first lady in nigeria. there was a collective wtf - your husband is hammering us and you are capping on first lady title. |

Itsrm: ![]() As at then, living in it, we were not. Last year, I applied for a dollar card and bought dollars from Aboki at 830...I remember how i was cussing under my breath. Today, it is 1700+ Every part of me today wants the 830 to come back, but as at then, it was hell....The same feeling the 1700+ is. Comparing OBJ to other presidents shows h was better, but Nigeria was not any form of heaven, as we lived it then...It is not true. By 2034, you will see people tell us how Tinubu even tried to keep dollar at 1700... |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 9:27am On Nov 21, 2024 |
GloriousGbola:You can compare OBJ with other presidents and see that his time was better. But for me, it's more of "the lesser hardship" than "a better economy" At what time did Nigerians live happy in this country? Every time, we lamented. Every bleeping tenure. That salary you earned in the past, that has more value today? You lamented..It was not easy then. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by swiz123(m): 9:27am On Nov 21, 2024 |
izzou:Can you be exact on what people complained about then? I can tell you with certainty that in the East, people complained mostly about their governors, not the president. Do you think people were complaining about food when a loaf of bread can maintain the same price for two years or more? Do you see people complain that rice, beans, corn, yam, potatoes etc is too expensive? I can confirm that for any Nigerian who worked hard enough, food becomes the least of their problem. For example, a Mason laborer in 2007 can make 1,800 daily. He can spend N300 on food for the day given that Bread and Akara was N50 and Pepsi N30. He could even decide to spend 400 on beer and pepper soup in the evening and save 1,100. In less than 2 weeks, he can buy a bag of rice and have change. Today, same laborer makes 8k daily pay but will complain, not about DSTV subscription, price of data subscription, cost of beer or pepper soup etc but cost of basic food he used to afford with ease. So I ask again, please, can you be exact on what people complained about? |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 9:34am On Nov 21, 2024 |
swiz123:So as at 2007, no laborer was complaining about Nigeria and food prices abi? They all woke up everyday, took their Oshuka and headpans and sang 'O happy day' as they marched to the site, because the pay was good, ba? The reason why it looks good in 2007, is because you have a more terrible condition in 2024. As at 2007, Nigerians complained of hardship. Or can you show me any link to where Nigerians clapped for any president as lessening their burdens? I can litter here with links of us lamenting back to back. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ibime(m): 9:37am On Nov 21, 2024 |
OBJ is the greatest President in Nigeria's history and probably the only one who improved life from his predecessor. Every other President dropped living standards from where the predecessor left it OBJ was the only one with a clear financial strategy and instituted a savings culture to ensure that future generations could have funds to live on via the Excess Crude Account |

izzou:Your argument doesn't sound reasonable. Can you show me a country that doesn't complain? Cardi B is complaining about inflation in US. Does it mean the level of lamentation in US can be compared to Nigeria? Americans even complain about mortgage fee in their country that's a luxury complaint to a Nigerian now.Of course, people always feel they deserve better which is correct, but it is important to look at what the lamentations are about. If a man who is lamenting about OBJ making him buy a 2002 car instead of a 2004 car starts complaining of rice, beans, yam, etc, doesn't that show serious regression. And a laborer who has 70% disposable income then can save up his money and start another business. Today, no laborer has 70% disposable income. That's why I said, Nigerian had something for those who worked hard enough. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OkpaNsukkaisBae(m): 9:56am On Nov 21, 2024 |
swiz123:You are right. I lived through OBJ era in the East. Most of the complaints then was against the governors. |
