Greetings house! please who else is experiencing this? My last interview was over a month ago and since then I haven’t been able to start a new application. It’s still showing pending appointment request. Please does any one have suggestions on how I should go about this. Thank you!

The email I got "reminding" me that my passport is ready for collection at OIS in Lagos says that I can come collect at my convenience for free till December 31, 2024. But I chose to pay ($30 if I remember correctly) for this premium service in the process of scheduling my appointment. I am collecting by proxy.

Someone kindly and urgently advise. Can I safely follow the email and come get it at anytime for free or still book an appointment/prepare to pay?

Lol, boss, VOs don't look at bank statements or financial documents again. They even tell you not to bring them now. You can take them along o but the only way to defend your financial position is with a well thought-out narrative.

About the sibling issue, it's a trap. Don't admit you previously lied on your DS-160. It won't go well.

My son’s F1 visa was denied today.
He has 5 years B1 visa, this is his 3rd USA Visa, never over stayed
Visited 5 countries in Europe with current visas
Answered questions well-
why this university? Why the course? Family in Us- Yes an uncle
Parents income- + had statements and proof of business to back it up
He was given a blue paper that he did not qualify, that he has no ties. How in the world would a 17yr old have a family, properties or work? I don’t understand these people … what went wrong?

What were his answers?

How does she navigate this please.

this whole matter looks somehow , I paid Nov 10th and they are yet to approve payment

At this point am thinking if it possible to recall payment if it not confirmed then one could make another to see if it would be confirmed .
Also have seen people make double payment doesbit mean the embassy would not refund such payment even though they could not confirm it

I sent a mail to first bank as regards the payment confirmation and this was their reply

There is always hope moving forward. post his transcript on here, and we can help point out areas he might need to work on for future applications.

Then she handed me the blue abi na yellow paper I go call and then she said unfortunately we won’t be approving your visa … please can you tell me where the error is guys and also I actually have a sister in the US but I felt I should say no so they won’t deny me cos she also got a student visa in 2019 and she is already a citizen and a soldier self but I felt if I say yes it will hurt my chances of getting a visa cos she didn’t return back .. but if you guys feel there is another reason for my denial please tell me because I’m preparing for another visa interview in few days and do you think I should say I have a sister there and I hope me saying no before won’t get my visa denied again if I say yes this time around

Here’s one piece of advice for your visa application process: always be consistent with your answers. Having a sister in the USA is not an automatic reason for denial. However, since you’ve already told the VO that you don’t have a sister, this creates a problem—you’ll now have to stick to that false statement in future applications. This is where it becomes challenging and potentially damaging.

From your transcript, it’s clear that your answers were not convincing, and they came across as rehearsed or memorized. Remember, Visa Officers are highly trained and experienced—they can quickly identify inconsistencies or insincerity. I wish you the best of luck moving forward!

1. Your son might have visited 5 countries in Europe but to be frank is that one of the criteria to qualify for F1 visa ?

2. How did you know he answered the questions very well ? Did you see the video or verbal recorded tape where he was answering the consular questions?

3. When the embassy says he does not have a tie does the 214B stated that they needed him to show family properties? Does the denial slip asked him to show work history?

Why not come out straight with a genuine question instead of painting the US embassy as a bad entity ? You will know what went wrong after you must have posted his genuine and honest transcript, otherwise he will repeat the same failure .

Please don't. Your appointment has your application number. And it doesn't matter if, on the visa application, you choose Afghanistan as your embassy as long as you have your confirmation page, the embassy will scan the barcode and get all your information.

I just want to clarify: I had initially filled out a Ds-160 with the location CoteD Ivoire.

However, when I wanted to pay the visa fees, I selected Abj with a new Ds1 60 number for Fct.

I had initially completed and submitted the earlier Ds 160, so would this apply in this instance? I thought of refilling the one I generated earlier and submitting it as the most recent Ds 160, especially within.
