Governor Fubara Takes Action Following Ban On Federal Allocations by PressMyButton(op): 6:05pm On Nov 22, 2024
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has challenged a court ruling that banned the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from disbursing monthly allocations to his state.

The Nigerian government recently confirmed that it has stopped the October monthly Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) revenue payment to the state.

According to the Spokesperson of the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa, on Friday, the decision to stop the payment was made in respect of a court order.

Meanwhile, Fubara’s legal team, led by Mr. Yusuf Ali, SAN, has filed a motion at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, seeking to overturn the ruling.

The ruling, issued by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court on October 30, was made in response to a lawsuit filed by the faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Hon. Martins Amaewhule. The lawsuit sought to stop the CBN from releasing funds to the state, citing Fubara’s refusal to present the state’s 2024 Appropriation Bill as directed by the court.

Governor Fubara, however, has argued that the Amaewhule-led faction had ceased to be legitimate lawmakers after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Fubara’s appeal, registered as CA/ABJ/CV/1303/2024, was considered alongside five additional appeals stemming from the same case.

The ruling date will be communicated later.

Fubara is running around katakata, he's a reactionary person, not proactive. He easily goes to sleep and then struggle to let loose of his head when it is almost half way in the mouth of the tiger.
The Appeal court says return the budget to Amaewhule but Fubara is still disobeying.

Allocations for a specific month is paid the month after. October allocations will be paid in Nov. The problems with your likes is that you have limited understanding how your country operates but you think yourself a know-it-all.

APC and fraud. I laughed when they said same law makers never defected, despite the open air declaration which was covered by the media. Under the APC, disobedience and fraud have been institunalised and shame on those backing them for whatever reasons

The whole country sympathized with Tinubu when Obasanjo held allocations to Lagos State for moths..

To think that the same template of holding back a states allocations in order to bring it to it's knees, is being used by Tinubus government today, is simply unbelievable

Faac paid, you too, do ur findings very well before you attack and criticise.

Many of you only want to attack and counter attack, cos of ur emotional prejudices towards certain individuals and not exactly the way it is supposed to be.

I biliv they paid November allocation to Rivers, since the judgement has been appealed.
