Jezz this almost happened to my cousin . It was one clinic like that in Lagos then called bridge clinic that saved her marriage.

They did this genetic stuff that let the clinic chose embryos that didn't carry the sickly cell gene during the IVF. They did it in their Bridge clinic branch in Port Hartcourt.


@OP the lady needs to get in touch with that clinic they saved my cousins marriage too. She would have lost out on marrying the love of her life ...

There are other IVF clinics around o, but man that bridge clinic are the best in Africa . No doubt !! They even have a branch in London too.

Doing that is not the only thing, after the right number of kids they should destroy their ability to make babies... Because there's always an unplanned pregnancy in most marriages

If their is true love and believe in God they can married their self and there will not be problem. I have seen couple dat is AS and they didn't born SS .

I and my wife are both AS.I hav 2 bois n 3rd is on d way.We hav done some test for d 3rd for probability of Sickle cell trait n came out negative.D test was a blood test n it cost us abt
1.2m
I will only advice those thst can afford it to go ahead ....bt normally me sha i stubborn

This is madness so they can not do the test since ,anyway is better for them and the unborn children

This is easy when the reason for marriage is procreation above any other reasons.

Wise decision. But what stopped them from doing their genotype within the first six months of their relationship? If these elites could neglected this important steps of life,what do imagine the unlearned? For the past three years they have been pulling with each other,then,a new man will come into the scene. Man suffers a lot from women.ln ideal marriage blood genotype plays a great role.

Haba now, we are in 2024. All they need to do is get pregnant via IVF. Genetic screening will be done on the embryo's to ensure they are not SS.
To be hones I guess that may be very exspensive in Nigeria, so maybe it's for the best they call it off

I and my wife too are both AS.

In our case, we found out just a few days to our wedding. We decided to proceed with the wedding whilst hoping that everything would be fine.

Lucky for us, our two children turned out well and we decided not to tempt FATE. Our families have been on our neck to have another child but we kept telling them that pregnancy isn't forthcoming. Unknown to them, my wife is on birth control and we've been knacking steadily.

I'll advise intending couples to take the genotype issue very seriously so as to forestall future regrets.

The couples in question deserve commendation for averting a future catastrophe.

What God did for me over this genotype issue is great. Five days to our wedding which held on the 9th of January 2016. After the test, the result showed that we're both AS and I asked him what next having known that there is a very big problem. He told me that getting married to her will give me the following options:
AA 25%
AS 50%
SS 25% and he told me about his friend who is AS with his wife and they have 5 children without any case os SS. I was very tired and cried, I told him I have the faith not to have an SS child.
We married and God blessed me with 3 children, two is AA while one is AS.
My faith may not be yours and what works for me may not work for you. I checked our genotype in a government hospital🏥 whenever my wife is pregnant and it gives me same result
my advice is to check your genotype before marriage to avoid stories that touch
