Nigerians have become prey, no thanks to our selfish and greedy politicians and our own laxity in holding them accountable

One stup!d boy wanted to run this on me in 2022. Thankfully, I easily identify scam. Besides, I've been to African countries and was in one that same period, I never wanted moving to any other African country.

Nigeria is far better for me than all these countries.

Continuation..

We woke up with a loud voice from the mosque across the border, at 4am people are already awake infact 24hrs people don't sleep over there, you still going to see people walking, sellers selling and buyers buying. The driver told us to bring our bag down, we are going to use bike to cross the border to avoid police. I told the driver, I'm not a fugitive, I have passport and I would love my passport to be stamped, that's the essence of embarking on this journey, so my passport will have travel history.

After I finished ranting he said "bike" I just weak. Usman our driver looks like a Fulani man, barely speak English but he struggles to communicate with us. The lady, one of my co travelers, remember I said I had other two travelers on the same mission but the lady, who I nicknamed onome, speaks French and English, so sometimes she helps us to pass the message.

The bike guy finally came, we were supposed to move in batches, rider carried I and the other guy and will later come back for onome. The strict security procedure in entering Burkina Faso, you will think you're Crossing into USA territory. After dodging some checkpoint, a flashed light stopped us to a halt, I frozed. A tall black muscular man approached us, with strong command from his voice, he commanded us to get down. We immediately did without asking "officer wetin I do?" just like a typical Nigerian will ask. He asked for our passports, I brought mine, the other guy brought out temporary nin slip constructed into a plastic card. The officer asked why my didn't they stamp me at the entry in french, I replied with a sign language pointing at the bike guy. He was saying something about Nigerians and scam. After everything, he asked to be bribed with 2,000 CFA each.

After parting ways with the border police man, we were dropped at a park. While waiting for Usman to get the necessary paperwork to cross over to Burkina Faso territory.

We spent the whole day waiting for Usman, while waiting I saw young teenage girls from Nigeria also heading towards our direction, one said mali the other said ivory coast, all going for prostitution.

Re: Burkina Faso: The Journey Of No Return by owiko(m):
It's a good thing you're sharing your real-time travel experience to Burkina Faso on here. A distant relative tried to talk me into that shitty travel adventure some five months ago, but I called his bluff. He tried to entice me with the story of how he was earning a very decent pay in dollars, working for a certain company, and that all I needed to join him over there was 1.550k to cover for travel expenses and processing of work/resident permit. Since then, different foreign numbers (maybe cloned) have been flashing me frequently, and I suspect it's through him. There's no better life in Burkina Faso.

The problem with the average Nigerian is GREED!!! I have never seen a greedy set of people like Nigerians. You will see them driving fine cars and living in a comfortable house yet they are still complaining about bad economy.

Please tag moderators I want this awareness to spread, there's no dollar paying job in any francophone countries. This countries is very very poor.
Thank God I didn't fall for this stupid scam.
My junior brother who came back from Dubai after 5 years without bringing shishi disturbed the hell out of my life to give him 2m to go to this same Burkina Faso in February.
My spirit told me it was scam but he won't listen until I told him I will call family meeting and all members will sign as witness before releasing the money, so that if he fails he won't come back for more money sobbing to help him again.
I am tired of him abeg.
It was at that point his senses came back to him.
I will send this thread to him

Continuation... Our journey continued as early as 5am in the morning so we could beat the traffic at the border. We finally arrived at Benin republic - Togo border, since I had a passport, I was asked to stay in the car, while the other two were asked by the driver to get down and wait for a bike smuggle then behind the border on a bush track.

Since the driver is using a unregistered car, he needs to get all the legal documents to transport the car across border, we waited for 8 hrs for everything to be ready. While waiting, I still got a follow up message from my Burkina Faso benefactor(Neche), asking me on updates and also reminding me not to talk to anybody and i should mind my business. After 8hrs we head towards the next border, which is the togolese - Burkina Faso border which took hours, if I'm not mistaken more than 8hrs. When we finally got to border, we slept at the border to resume the next morning.
Why pass Togo? That is a long distance.
2 shorter options - young shall grow at Ibadan to pass through saki axis
Or
Benin rep. But the go north and enter through the Benin rep. North border with Burkina instead of Togo

it was intentional and moreover it was an unregistered car.

The bolded is the mistake people make. There is no one that is perfect and you can't predict the twist and turns in life. You can only try and make effort for your life to be better.

If you fail to achieve what you left the shores of Nigeria for, come back home. People who do not understand life might see you as a failure. That's their problem.

Its hard but you can always start again. Don't be too ashamed come go back home and start again even if there is nothing to fall back on persay.

To those who are able to make it outside the shores of Nigeria, I hope you succeed and make it big. Big enough to achieve convinience and help develop Nigeria one way or the other
