Oh yes!
I was shipping some stuff recently and I found out that everything from rice, nido, sardines and baby food are all way cheaper in Nigeria even when they are from cosco & sam's club where they are cheapest.
PulaPower:
Inflation is super high in USA far more than Nigeria self..

Between WizKid FC and APC miscreants, the truth Davido said is melting their hearts.

You cannot be criticizing him for being upfront in one breath, then looking for a visa by all means possible with the other.

Your father is the richest man in Osun state. Your family produced two governors, including the current Governor, and three senators, but Osun state is not Dubai. You've contributed nothing to uplift the State.

Nigeria gave you and your family wealth, fame, and opportunities, you and your father are beneficiaries of crooked and corrupt power assets privatization.

In a supposedly bad Nigeria with a bad economy, your father borrowed billions of dollars from China to build a power plant. So, is your father a foolish man for borrowing and investing billions of dollars in a country with a bad economy?

This is what anti-Nigerian elements don't get, you cry and moan that when you go to foreign countries, they treat you badly because you are a Nigerian or because of your passport, but what exactly do you expect when you trash your country all day and every day, you go abroad to shout and yell on a popular and influential radio station that your country is trash.

This thoughtless man broadcasted to thousands if not millions of listeners all over the world that his country is bad and people should not go to his country.

People not going to Nigeria means no investments, no tourism money, no jobs, no progress and development.

I know Davido is immature and emotionally unintelligent, but he took it to another level.

How sad.
In addition to what Nigeria has done for his family.
Nigeria gave him his first National honors OON (stands for Officer of the Order of the Niger).
America is yet to give him any honors or even Grammy as a musician.
Nigerians made Davido.
But this shameless boy gets on air and uses his platform to disparage all of us.

A lot of us here carry 3 or more passports.
But we will never speak ill of Naija anywhere.

Yes, eggs went up again last month and I think they are scamming us with all this cage free and free range terms, so I try to get cage free which is a little cheaper. I used to be all organic but found out they could be lying on the package.
We go through so much eggs that I'm relieved when we run out. It's the easy go-to for quick brunch.

You people really think that foreign investors are d u m b. Lol. So, if Davido declares Nigeria a country filled with milk and honey with the best sets of leaders in the universe, foreign investors would believe him just like that? grin grin

Davido's father shared his experience in the U.S just few weeks back about how a civil servant nearly ruined his investments to the point where his foreign partner became frustrated, yet you people said nothing. Nobody has called for the sack and mass arrest of corrupt civil servants and directors. Today, you're blaming Davido for speaking another truth about your hopeless situations. You ppl ehn!

You don't want Davido to "ruin your image" abroad (whatever that means), but your drunken master minister dey flop the same image in the presence of a foreign prime minister at home grin
The fact that the comment Davido 's made did not get noticed should show you he doesn't have vocal folloers like Davido

Davido, a global icon and one of Nigeria’s most celebrated artists, holds significant sway over millions worldwide. His dual identity—born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Nigeria—affords him a unique perspective. However, with influence comes responsibility, especially for someone awarded the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) for his contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry. His recent comments, where he expressed discouragement about African Americans relocating to Nigeria, underscore a need for caution and diplomacy.

The Importance of Constructive Criticism

No one disputes the challenges Nigeria faces—economic instability, infrastructural deficits, and political strife, to name a few. These are realities that Nigerians live daily. But as a public figure, especially one benefiting immensely from Nigerian support, Davido has a responsibility to critique constructively. Comparing the slums of Nigeria to the struggles of the United States could have been an opportunity to highlight resilience, entrepreneurship, or the emerging entertainment industry’s vibrancy.

Rather than casting a shadow on the motherland, Davido could have adopted a balanced tone:
• Acknowledge challenges honestly without exaggeration.
• Highlight the opportunities for growth and investment.
• Emphasize the sense of community and culture that defines Nigeria.

Davido’s Platform: A Double-Edged Sword

Davido’s platform has elevated Nigerian music globally. His fan base in Nigeria forms the foundation of his success, and it is their unwavering support that propelled him into international stardom. To discourage African Americans from engaging with Nigeria, a country that has embraced him as one of its leading ambassadors, risks alienating his core supporters.

While the United States grapples with homelessness, racial inequality, and mass incarceration, American artists like Jay-Z, Beyoncé, or Chris Brown rarely, if ever, disparage their homeland on international platforms. Their approach is one of advocacy, highlighting issues without denigrating their roots.

Immaturity and Consequences

Davido’s comments might seem candid, but they come across as tone-deaf given his stature and role. To suggest that African Americans avoid Nigeria entirely could:
• Harm tourism and cultural exchange efforts.
• Damage the perception of Nigeria globally.
• Alienate his Nigerian fans, whose loyalty underpins his career.

It is not alarmist to state that if Nigerians boycotted his music, his career trajectory could shift dramatically. The entertainment industry thrives on goodwill, and losing the support of one’s home base can be career-ending.

The Need for an Apology

As someone conferred with a national honor, Davido must hold himself to a higher standard. A public apology would go a long way in mending fences. It’s not about suppressing valid criticism; it’s about expressing it in a way that uplifts rather than tears down. His handlers and media team must ensure that his statements align with his role as a cultural ambassador.

A Call for Advocacy, Not Dismissal

Davido has the power to advocate for change. He can:
• Highlight areas where African Americans or other diasporans could contribute to Nigeria’s development.
• Use his platform to call for better governance and investment.
• Show the vibrant aspects of Nigeria alongside its challenges.

Rather than discouraging engagement with Nigeria, Davido should foster dialogue and inspire hope. Advocacy, not dismissal, is the hallmark of a mature and impactful leader.

Davido's career would never have existed if not for moving to naija from America.
Everybody has their own grace, Nigeria is now most affordable than it has ever been.
All the airlines will make money if african americans fly into Nigeria
All the hotels ditto
All the restaurants ditto
All the cab drivers ditto
All the airbnbs ditto

As a Nigerian with national honors OON, the worst thing he can say is "Dont come to Nigeria" Its wrong.
He could have said "Nigeria is work in progress" Even America is work in progress. There is more deadly crime in Chicago than Lagos.

It's only idiots who don't travel that'll think the challenges we face is unique to Nigeria alone.
I've been to Egypt, Rwanda, USA, Canada and Ireland in the last 3 years and I can't tell you that everyone is facing similar challenges.
I'm pretty sure most of the people who listened to him say those rubbish have now realized that he's intellectually deficient.
