Why must it be kept secrethuh?. To who's benefit??
This mentality is typically African and is of no benefit.
Systems abroad allow for autopsies and definition of cause of death.
This allows for identification of problems and correction of systems, policy and SOPPs.
If a foreign country assassinated your COAS, of what benefit is it keeping it secret?
Even Israel, USA,HAMAS, Islamic Jihad and Iran admit when they lose high profile personnel and explain the exact cause.
The reason is to short circuit any rumours that can undermine the government.

CAS HOSTS AERO VODOCHODY VP, EXPLORES SUPPORT OPTIONS FOR L-39 FLEET OPTIMISATION

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, today, 12 November 2024, hosted the Vice President Defence and MRO of Aero Vodochody, Mr Jan Stechr, and his team at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters, Abuja. The visit centred on enhancing technical support and sustainability for the NAF’s L-39 aircraft fleet.

Air Marshal Abubakar lauded Aero Vodochody’s 4 decades of partnership with the NAF and affirmed the Service’s commitment to exploring options for fleet optimisation. He assured the delegation that their proposals, including reactivation, upgrades, and potential acquisition of the L-39 Next Generation (NG), would be thoroughly evaluated.

Mr Stechr highlighted how these initiatives would boost fleet readiness and operational effectiveness. The engagement with Aero Vodochody aligns with the CAS' Command Philosophy which is driving the NAF's transformation into an agile and resilient force, effectively delivering credible airpower to address national security imperatives in all operational environments.

To some extent the dead itself and family member still deserve some level of secrete or privacy. What if the family wants the issue regarding his demise be kept on a low key.
Anyways nothing is really kept secrete from the military corner, the burial/funeral arrangement have been announced already .

It all depends on the family. if they feel it to remind private, there is nothing we can do. Even in America, family can seal the autopsy results of their love ones.

Once you die in active service, it is no longer a private family matter. Even retired military men are given military burial.

At least five Russian Wagner mercenaries were killed on November 21 when a patrol was ambushed by militants from the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) near Djiguibombo, between Bandiagara and Bankass in the Mopti region.

Zagazola understand that the ambush occurred along the strategic “Snake Road” and resulted in the loss of two light armored vehicles, which were seized by the attackers.

The JNIM has claimed responsibility for the assault, releasing graphic images and videos of the aftermath, further underscoring their operational presence in the area.

Police Recover Unexploded Ordnance in Maiduguri, Reassure Public of Safety

The Borno State Police Command has successfully recovered eight unexploded ordnance (UXOs) in Dala and Gwange areas of Maiduguri, following distress calls from concerned residents. The command has reassured the public of their safety and urged vigilance.

In a press release issued on Saturday, the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Borno State Police Command, ASP Grace Michael, disclosed that the recoveries were made on November 22, 2024, after reports of suspicious objects in the affected areas.

According to ASP Michael, the first incident occurred at approximately 8:43 a.m. in the Dala-Abuja Talakawa area, where residents reported a cluster of unidentified objects near an uncompleted building. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Base 13 team responded swiftly, recovering six projectiles and one unexploded mortar bomb, which were safely relocated to a secure site.

Later that day, at about 1:00 p.m., another report emerged from the Gwange area regarding a suspicious object along the riverbank. The EOD-CBRN team was deployed to the scene and recovered an unexploded hand grenade.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the ordnance were displaced and washed ashore by recent devastating floods in the state. The police command has since conducted Explosive Ordnance Risk Awareness (EORE) training for residents of both communities, educating them on safety measures.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring public safety. He urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and to promptly report any suspicious objects or activities through the emergency lines: 0806 807 5581 and 0802 347 3293.

NAF AIRSTRIKES DECIMATE TERRORIST FOOD DEPOT, NEUTRALIZE FIGHTERS AT JUBILLARAM

In a bold and decisive operation, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) on 23 November 2024 delivered a crushing blow to terrorist elements in Jubillaram, a notorious enclave in the Tumbuns area of the Lake Chad Basin. This strategic location, identified through meticulous intelligence efforts, served as a critical food storage site and a sanctuary for terrorist commanders and fighters. Intelligence had previously linked terrorists in this location to recent attacks, including the assault on troops in Kareto on 16 November 2024.

In response, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets launched a robust air interdiction mission, destroying identified structures used as storage facilities and neutralising terrorists on-site. Mop-up operations using cannons ensured the complete elimination of fleeing hostile elements. The operation's success was made possible by extensive Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions conducted over several days, confirming the presence of active terrorist structures camouflaged under dense vegetation.

The destruction of the terrorist enclave, including food storage facilities, severely disrupted their logistical operations, while the neutralization of a significant number of fighters diminished their capacity to launch future attacks. This mission demonstrates the NAF's unwavering commitment to defending our nation and people, acting singly and supporting surface forces in counterterrorism operations. The NAF will sustain these robust independent and joint operations until all enemies of Nigeria's prosperity and wellbeing are brought to justice.

Nigerian Troops Repel ISWAP SVBIED Attack in Kukawa, Inflict Heavy Losses

Troops of Sector 3, operating under the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) and Operation Hadin Kai, have successfully thwarted a major assault by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Kukawa, Borno State.

The attack, which occurred in the early hours of November 25, 2024, involved ISWAP coming from different flanks on motorcycles but ended in a decisive victory for the Nigerian military.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the insurgents launched their attack with the SVBIED leading their assault team. However, the swift and strategic response of soldiers from the 101 Special Forces Battalion neutralized the immediate threat, triggering an intense gunbattle.

During the engagement, several ISWAP fighters were killed, while the terrorists were forced to abandon significant amounts of equipment and supplies as they fled.

The troops received prompt air support from the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, which carried out precision strikes on retreating ISWAP fighters, killing several of them. This aerial reinforcement helped to consolidate the military’s dominance, forcing the insurgents to retreat in disarray.

While the exact number of casualties among the insurgents remains undisclosed, troops recovered several pieces of equipment including Anti Aircraft guns, GPMGs as well as motorcycles.

A Military intelligence sources said that ISWAP may attempt to regroup and retaliate, potentially targeting reinforcements or military bases using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) or ambush tactics.

Troops have therefore been advised to maintain heightened vigilance, particularly in anticipation of a possible attack on the military base in Malam Fatori.
