you can see shop a selling coffee for 4k and shop b selling the same coffee for 8k.

shoprite used to have the best prices - likely because they had some bulk purchase agreements with manufacturers - but today literally everything they sell costs way more than in other supermarket chains - you see some prices and wonder are these guys running a money laundering operation? like who do you think is going to buy items at these prices?

a lot of these guys calling these prices have not done an actual sampling - but they just take the first figure they see and run with it.

What's the point of following them if you still have to manually go their profile to see stuff.

The thing is ; this reply does not invalidate what Davido Said. Yes his uncles have been senators and governor but it doesn't invalidate the fact that things are bad in Nigeria.

All the people I know that are into business are complaining bitterly. At the moment it's hard making reasonable profit in any type of business in Nigeria. Investing in Nigeria is a loss making venture.

I don't believe in telling people not to complain whether they are rich or poor. Davido spoke generally and didn't say it is APC that is ruining the country. He simply said our economy is in shambles and it's true.

Earlier today I was in a gathering someone narrated his recent experience I nearly shed a tear. A married man with 2 kids spoke about how he was dead broke few weeks ago. His wife told him there was absolutely nothing at home to prepare for their son to take to nursery school and his pocket was empty.

They took the child to school without packing any lunch. After the wife kept nagging, He had to go meet a POS merchant close by, cooked up story and got 3k from the guy claiming he's waiting for a transfer from one of his customer. It was that 3k they used to arrange food and send to the child before lunch break.

As the father, it was garri he took that day just to survive. He said things are really hard. This is someone who runs a business but business has not been moving as before. These things breaks a man; I had to squeeze something his palms Las Las.

As for the man, yeah, things are quite hard for business owners right now. The people I'm talking about are using personal money for business, and still making serious losses. I'm just imagining how those people that take loans to run businesses are faring.

I am always in touch with the prices on ground and can tell you equivalent foodstuff is X4 here. I have a friend I do culinary challenges with, and I often inquire to the price of what he is eating in Naija so I know wetin dey ground. The Suya I pay N30k here for, he will pay like N7k there for equivalent amount.

It's not clear how close Russia is with the Houthis, which maintain control of swathes of the country devastated by civil war.
