Afrobeats singer, Tiwa Savage, has claimed that poverty is responsible for the huge amount of entertainers Nigeria is churning out.

According to her, the hardship in the country is making young people explore their talents.

Speaking on the ‘Shopping The Sneakers’ podcast, Savage said living in Nigeria is difficult.

She said, “When you come to Nigeria, you will understand why we breed so many superstars. To survive in Nigeria is something else so that’s why the artists that come out of Nigeria are just like hustlers. They are just hustling.”

Nigeria has Africa’s largest movie, music, comedy and fashion industries.

Nollywood is the second largest movie industry in the world.

Nollywood is the second biggest now? How tides have changed. Nigeria is difficult. England is not any better. BBNaijaVee complained not long ago that Nigeria was as difficult as England in terms of living expenses.

She's right 💯 about how struggles for survival have turned many Nigerians to superstars.

When serious hunger enter body, you'll become a creative person by fire by force.

.. back in those years when I was still struggling financially, I did a lot of works I was never trained to do. I became an overnight photographer, cameraman, MC, freelance, comedian, event planner, any available creative work just to make ends meet.

The problem in Nigeria is majorly Security then greed , flamboyance and man pass man syndrome.

Nothing concerns poverty.
Nigerians want to live the good life but the truth is the don't have the capacity.

We want luxury foods, posh apartments, unlimited data, cheap flights, constant power supply and all sorts of dream life, and we want it to be from the government purse.

A nation that looks down on a Nigerian child that takes Eba to school for lunch is not a serious nation.

When we are ready we will go back to the basics.
