The demand for Anioma creation is unarguably the oldest agitation in the history of Nigeria, it started in the 1950s by the people of Aboh and Asaba divisions in the Western regional House of Assembly. It is a struggle that has spanned decades.
It was out of personal interest and greed that IBB under the influence of his wife Late Mariam Babagida that IBB added the Anioma region to be part of Delta state, with Asaba as the State Capital.
It was a daylight robbery to all Deltans.
Geopolitically Anioma have no connection's with Delta.
Delta is a peninsula in Nigeria.
I believe they wanted to use the Oil money from Delta to develop Asaba and environs which over 31 years now they have achieved.
No doubt Asaba is one of the most developed Capitals in Nigeria with an International Airport,Standard Stadium and a state of the art Specialist Hospital. While Warri is very dirty and under developed.
They have cheated Deltans enough and achieved their aim.
Please they should allow them to go.
They do not have any economy contribution to the growth of Delta state.

If you want to toe that line the SE shouldn’t even have 5 states in the 1st place, the entire SE is not up to Oyo state or Niger state. When you take that line that is what those from Oyo or Niger will tell you. Don’t forget that the state assemblies in these same Oyo and Niger will have to vote to approve as this is a constitutional amendment!

Let's not forget that in reality, the so called South East and South South are mere geographical expressions. The constitution does not recognise anything called South East or South South. So how can you be part of something that does not exist in the eyes on the law?

By the time others demand their own, the number of states will be unwieldy that common sense will prevail and no state will be created. That is the point.

Majority of Delta Northerners want the state to be but since some people have started Igbonizing the whole thing, Anioma state can will not materialise and the Anioma nomenclature is getting disbanded.
In 2020, Ika Elders represented Ika Ethnic Nationality in the National Confab. Our representatives voted against Anioma state and also disclaimed Anioma nomenclature claiming it doesn't exist.

If you're from Isele Uku, I can confidently tell you that 90% of your chiefs and elders don't share the same views with you. I'm very very much involved in Delta North politics including the identity politics. Like I said, there's a high likelihood of someone from the SE to claim Delta North to support Ned and his promise of expansion. And also a Delta Northerner that is affiliated with Ned and co. The chance of someone organically campaigning to be in the South East is very very low although not impossible

You have decided we don’t want equity because we don’t agree with you. Anyone that doesn’t agree with you or don what you want is your enemy, yet you come and live amongst us. I read about that case and how he went to the CP's office to get them released but the narrative was that they were innocent vigilantes who were producing Dane guns although the community people who got them arrested said they were land grabbers terrorising the entire community.

The peaceful Delta north is now turning to the yeast since they all started relocating to Asaba and environs. I even read how one Ibo man brought Anambra police to come and demolish another man's property over land claims in the dead of the night.

There's no more hope for Asaba as it is now nothing different from Onitsha since they flooded in.

This "support" for the creation of Anioma State by Senator Dafinone is like killing two birds with one stone.


The pains of the "core Deltans" having a capital located in Asaba, a border town with Onitsha, Anambra State, has continued many years after the creation of the State by a military fiat of President Babangida being a token to please his late wife, Mariam.


With an Anioma State being created, the coast would now be clear for a true Delta State.


But, the other ethnicities would view the Urhobos, being the most populated in the State, with suspicion.


In-fighting would then set in.

Lol. Ned Nwoko wants to be Anioma state governor. To achieve this, he meets with with IPOB people, meets with all sorts of unreasonable Igbo people in the southeast to support his Anioma state. He tells those southeast Igbos that he wants their Anioma brothers to return home for future Biafra. Some of these unreasonable Igbos agree and shout: "bring our lost brothers in Anioma back to us."

Do you need to have anything to do with SE to be part of it, name one geopolitical zone in Nigeria that is not having different tribes in it. Last I checked, Agbor people are called Delta Igbos how come you don’t have anything to do with Igbos.

South East are not even one people. They're a mix of different people but somewhat related but completely segregated. The Europeans for the ease of administration brought you all together and made you one. Even creating a language for you and calling it Igbo.

Fortunately, they didn't find us that much related to add us to you guys and the natural boundary also played a big part. Even though the whole Igbo identity has been rubbing on us, we still want to maintain our separate identity. It doesn't matter what some ignorant folks call us. What we call ourselves matters most. And Ika language is recognised as it's own language but under the IGBOID family. bros I am from isselukwu and I and I Neva really cared about who is Igbo Yoruba or Hausa but as I began to work and hustle it was clear that if we the igbos dont unite I swear we go suffer, i am telling you with my own experience living in the south west for almost 30 yrs, the north and south west don't see us as one ooo we the igbos need to unite I observed that any time and anioma or any igbo speaking person from the south south reject there igboness the north and west are always happy( they really love to see us fight our selves and remain divided ) and what happened during the last election was an eye opener for me to accept my true identity and joing with our brothers from the east trust me they are the only ones who truly get out back I swear from my own experience I dey use tell u this thing oo

For all the ethnic squabbles , Delta state has proven that they can maintain oolitical harmony as seen with the zoning formula that they have been keeping to.

The southern tribes will continue the gentleman zoning agreement. This I am sure of.

You don't reject what you're not. I'm Ika. I don't speak Igbo. I speak Ika. Ika is unarguably an Igboid language but language relationship is not always from kinship but an evidence of some form of interactions. Your Isele Uku that speak a tongue that's classified as a dialect of the Igbo language says they're not Igbo and you want to convince me an Agbor man that I'm Igbo?

Who cares what the Hausa and Yorubas like or don't like? Are Igbos model people to relate with? Do you see how they treat Ebonyi people simply because they are a bit diferrent from other Igbos? They antagonize them and laugh at them for being different. Having links with the Benue and Efik groups
