Nigeria is the only country I know where law enforcement can commit a crime and obtain evidence illegally and yet the case would still be trialled in court like a regular case. What happened to following due process ?

Then there's the issue of abuse of power by law enforcement, all the security agencies in the country is guilty of this, how in God's name can you justify going through people's messages by the roadside police ?
That's gross incompetence at the highest level.

No I don't think they US should provide or sell lethal weapons that's capable of making them complicit in carrying out mass murder in Nigeria.

I see you must quite be of a very young age and I doubt you really know much about Nigerian politics not to talk of global politics.
The first issue that led to the downfall of Jonathan was a certain something billion dollars that was alleged to be missing after he initially removed fuel subsidy. That removal led to a serious nationwide protest. This was actually a lie but was perpetrated by elements of the APC propaganda machine. At that time, Price Waterhouse Coopers, a foreign auditing company had to be called in but the damage to his reputation was already done.
Jonathan did his best to fight insurgency and went as far as hiring South African foreign mercenaries to fight BH. Their contract was cancelled by Buhari. I don't want to sound unpatriotic, but BH was and is still a northern leaders program designed to cause instability when power is not in favour of the north. There is a report from David Hundeyin about the origin of BH. Ezekwesili was just a fool that was used. The principal of that school where the abduction happened was appointed into government just a week after those girls were kidnapped. See, there is a lot to Nigeria's politics than meets the eye.
The US punishment for Jonathan rejecting LGBTQ was a visa ban. Ever since he left government, have you ever heard of Jonathan visiting USA? This is one of the many reasons I see no reason with all those dogs barking about USA and LGBTQ matter, it only strengthens Africa, the worst is a visa ban.
Lastly, the US did not place a total embargo on arms on Nigeria, they only blocked weapons that were capable of causing large scale damage due to our poor handling of such weapons and the scale of innocent lives that could be lost. The US actually sold weapons to Nigeria that could cause less damage.

These violations have not been addressed, the only difference is that there were willing supplies under Buhari, supplies that don't care about the temporary arms embargo and the consequences.
