I thought the music was for praise/worship and spiritual benefit of every Christian. How come court enter the matter?

Two supposedly born again music artistes fighting over money matter in a Court guided by wordly system, headed by unbeliever judge and represented by hustler lawyers.

Do they now want people to bear in mind the controversial hustle side of the song when it's played rather than the main purpose of the song which is to edify the spirit of worshippers?

So all these na hustle? Na wao

Really?

Could you please enlighten me more on this?

I thought she used to be Pastor Chris's right hand singer?
That probably is what he/she meant by "deep state hand". Maybe Pst. Chris isn't happy with Sinach's success

The earlier you know all man must wack, then you will understand they are all after money not spreading of any gospel. Christian song is just niche like afrobeats, rnb, pop etc. Those have to pretend if not you Nigerians will not invite them to your church.

Even my spirit always reject their songs.
It takes a spirit filled Christian to listen to songs and discern the spirit behind it.their songs are noise to my spirit.
Here is what she says
"The plaintiff averred that he worked as a studio engineer on ‘Way Maker’, recording, mixing, and mastering the song. He also asserts that he created and performed several instrumental accompaniments, including piano, strings, and synthesizers, without a transfer of his performer’s rights".

I feel she might win the case, "having paid" the engineers his wages. I feel the engineer is trying to make an issue out of the huge global success of the song, which is also not out of line but should have been settled amicably, out of court.
may GOD ALMIGHTY continue to bless you with riches and wisdom. the engineers works ends right there in the studio, funny enough he was paid his wages for work done which I believe is the norm world over. except there is an agreement on owning the right to each sounds produced by him which the artist might also buy over to avoid stuff like this. receiving the wages for work done back then means he sold the right which like I said is the normal.

If Sinach had been performing "Way maker" in churches before it was professionally recorded, it might be difficult for a studio engineer to lay claim to this song.
He's not laying claim to the song. He's demanding for his performance right and contributions to the song. But it all depends on what his contract of engagement says.

It's so sad that this is coming from someone who knows the rule of the game but just want to trend.
1. You did not write de song
2. You did not compose it either
3. You did not perform it
Just studio section which you ve been paid you are now laying claims as owner of the song
Dude wants more out of the song because nobody anticipated the success that came from Way Maker.

In fact, Way Maker is the most successful gospel music by a Nigerian - both dead and alive. The song has been translated in nearly 20 foreign languages by natives around the world.

Sinach was already popular before Way Maker, but that song took her to a level that none of her song may never take her again.

The studio engineer better have strong proofs of his claims to present in court judges gives judgements based on evidence not hearsays.

This case has to be thrown out, else producers and the likes will start laying claim to people's songs. The maye guy no one has heard of should go and start his own line of music and see how he fares.

It is very out of line.

It is like paying a developer to build a software that later gets immensely adopted worldwide later like Twitter.

Mr engineer then wakes up one day to claim ownership with no proof.

Very out of line.

"If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people? 2 Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? 5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6 But instead, one brother takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers!

7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters."

The side he is on is clear even before the Michael-guy dreamt of instituting this suit. 🤷🏾‍♂️

How can a music producer claim right to co-ownership of a music? Those who are well versed in legal matters should educate us here.

He had no contract or agreement.. He can't win shit

His claims are based on emotions and even at that, they arent valid claims. He was employed and paid for a service he rendered and thats all..
According to the rules of intellectual property theft.. You could be the performer, writter and the composer of a song but if someone or a record label paid you to deliver that song, the song though written, composed and sang by you its not your song.. That's why when many of these musicians like Ruger, wizid, Kizz Daniel etc leaves their music label, they also kiss good bye to all the songs they released thru their label and that includes not claiming or even performing such songs anywhere. They'dbe sued!

In my own contribution, bill your clients very well, you never know which of your works will make them blow. I guess the photographer that snapped the celeberity breadseller was paid the usual 1k
