Djdamian:
Here’s what I meant: In my opinion, this business primarily benefits drivers. Hire purchase seems like the only viable option, but it comes with its challenges. First, you need a car suitable for such an arrangement, and with the current high prices of vehicles, coupled with the 2-3 year period to recoup your capital, it doesn’t seem worth it. Second, finding a reliable driver who is mentally and emotionally stable is crucial—and very difficult.

Leasing, based on experience, is the worst option. The vehicle often ends up poorly

handled unless you personally monitor it, and doing so can earn you the reputation of being overly controlling.

However, if the person intends to drive the vehicle themselves, then it’s a no-brainer—they should go for it. The e-hailing business is still lucrative for drivers, though not as appealing for investors at the moment.

Just my humble opinion
You mean all this while God has not bless you with one, despite being in the business for long......it's well

It goes a long way to shape a person, no matter the amount of money you have or what you do.

Just have a good attitude/character and don't be uncouth.

You didn't say anything bro. There's no sense in the violence. Dapo dropped his submission and he was countered. If he has more points to counter back, he should bring it up.

My only concern is the abuse and curse. There's just no need for all of that. Just make your point known without abusing anyone. It's more civilized
I agree with you, but it seems they can't do without insults and curses.

Is the 20m for 800k his submission to an innocent and genuine question that someone asked?
No he didn't drop any opinion/contribution, he only countered another person's opinion on the enquiry.

To me, mental and emotional maturity means being a goal-oriented individual who understands when business is business and doesn’t let emotions interfere. It’s someone with a well-thought-out plan, not just for the business but also for their personal life.

Finding such people is difficult, in my opinion. This perspective comes from both my personal experience and what I’ve observed from others currently in the business. However, during my six years in the industry, I was fortunate to work with one or two truly exceptional individuals.

To be honest I understood you perfectly and I also appreciate and thank you for the way you have passed your info across. Way to go!
The question from that new guy was simple and concise; he wants to buy a car; give a driver with the hope of making profit. He is not going to drive..He wants to give it out! He's an investor...We don't need to dance around this thing...
At my level, I will never pander to the mob; I will not cater to those with base, vulgar or undesirable opinions, specifically with the intent of gaining their favor..
To all those who probably did not get my submission; I'll state it again.
If you claim a business gives you 1.4 million in 3 week, but you're advising me not to invest more than 3 million into it..Don't you think there is something you're not telling me? If the INCOME is consistent as you've been displaying and there is nothing hidden, why can't I put 20 million in it? Don't forget, am making atleast a million or more in a month!
Mr Damian, no matter how ridiculous a driver could be, if he makes 1 million a month and he STOLE 700k; remit 300k to owner, I will consider it okay. If there is a data to show that a driver can pay me 300k monthly CONSISTENTLY, if any partner has experience it EVER before, i will buy a Corolla this weekend...
You see all of us ehn, "we know what we know"..lol
At Chapel Hill by 10am, I'll raise 20 million if you can guarantee 800k monthly! Come and pick it up.. I'll be here till 11am.
Regarding the claim that drivers earn 1.4 million in a month, I cannot confirm if this is consistently true. While we are fortunate to see some drivers' earnings shared on this platform, it doesn't necessarily reflect the general norm. If this is indeed representative of the average driver's monthly income, it would imply that every investor could justifiably demand 120k-140k weekly. However, how many drivers would actually agree to such terms?

The less a driver spends on fueling and maintenance, the more he'll pay you.

I've done extensive research into ehailing. I'm not average.

Traditionally, this is the period when you tend to see screenshots of earnings on this thread and elsewhere. Earnings are usually higher from November till the end of the year. I'm not sure it's representative of even the best driver's monthly income.

Lmao

Chapel Hill does not exist. He can't raise 20 million. If he can raise 20million, he won't be here on this forum.

Dapotemi is a stupid person. A very stupid person. He reads without understanding. If I asked an investor not to spend more than 3m on a car, it doesn't mean he shouldn't invest more than 3 million. The guy is as dense as a rock. He keeps shouting 20m to get 800k monthly without realizing that if Mr investor should invest 20m on ehailing, he'll be buying 6 cars which at the rate of 3m each would be 18m.

If investor follows what I have outlined because of the less fuel and expense on driver he will get 65k weekly or 260k monthly on each car which totals 1.560 gross a month from 18m.

Chapel hill rants are his ignorant rants as usual. This is someone who isn't bright. He got to where he is because people he knows kept pushing him to meet someone else. He can't get anything on merit. He's dull. He's not sharp. If he was a knife, he'd be a dull rubber butter knife, and he still won't be able to cut through butter.

Explaining everything on Nairaland as if I'm talking to 6 year olds is cumbersome because of fools like dapotemi. He's only worthy of being a punching bag of insults. He's as useless as the "P" in Psychology. grin

Not the general norm, no need shying away from saying the truth.
But you will make money as far as you're ready to work and the car is sound.

This is indeed a very intriguing topic.

If drivers can genuinely remit 120k-140k or more weekly, I believe many investors would renew their interest in this business, including myself.

If you're paying me for consultancy, I'll rattle off the top of my head. Since you arent, go to jiji, use the search description, search for cars less than 3m, manual transmission, look at pictures, Identify any without wires crisscrossing the engine bay, have a list, go with your mechanic.

there are cars right now on jiji with 1.2 liter engines. Do a deep dive on them, their maintenance costs, costs of parts, costs of purchase. You'll be surprised at what you'll find. You're not dapotemi. I trust your judgement.

If I were to venture into this business again, I wouldn’t consider buying a scrap car from Jiji for 2-3 million, as I’ve tried that before, and it didn’t turn out well.

However, if someone can guarantee me a weekly remittance of 150k, I’d definitely invest in a tokunbo Corolla.

The key to everything is the driver, na where wahala de dey be that.

Also, like the dead horse we've been flogging here since, what some drivers earn here others can't conceive the thought of such figures talk more of earning it. So, go figure

Funny, I'll never advise anybody to buy a Corolla for Uber.

No corollas, no automatics.
