Did you apply through an agent?

Good day folks. I applied for the ECOWAS International passport about 8 weeks ago and was asked to come next week for collection, but before then i had two other passport the last one expired in 2011 but i misplaced the one i had before this very last one, all these was before the introduction of the E-Passport passport. Furthermore, I had ask the lady if my case was renewal or fresh application and she told me since i had never applied for the E-passport before, it was more or less a case of fresh application. I even sent the data page of the old passport to her for confirmation. She called me yesterday that since i misplaced the penultimate one before the last one which expired in 2011, this one will not be issued that it was a case of lost passport which i failed to report. I am confused since the last one i procured is still with me.

Note: This is my first time of applying for the ECOWAS Passport. Please i need your input/advice on the way forward.

It's something you can do online by yourself

I keep wondering too. I sent the data page of the last passport to her she kept insisting I should produce the data page of the one I had before that very one, why? what for?

The agent is dishonest. Go back to the Passport Office where you captured/enrolled on the collection date written on your confirmation slip. I hope you are with your confirmation slip.

Yes, I have with me. That's what I intend doing.

I picked up my passport yesterday at Alimosho passport office, and I would say it was the easiest process I’ve ever experienced in a Public Office. I didn’t spend up to 30mins.

Did you stay around Alimosho or thr passport processing is just fast to do there sir....

What will you advice a man of family of 3 to do interested in traveling abroad

This man can afford anything for himself and his family for now.... Self employe with 6digt monthly income. Acquired ND in computer science, no working experience so far.
Just seeking a better life for my children

First of all, I think the issue here is lack of clear communication between you two. Any international passport you acquired by 2007 termed E-Passport, the 'e' there simply stands for electronic.

Also, your application SHOULD be renewal, any other thing will cause your application to be rejected, and that's what has happened. For you to continue with this application, you will need your most recent expired booklet datapage which you've lost, according to you, hence the mentioning of lost application.

To resolve this, if you can't locate your old booklet or its passport number anymore, you'll need the help of SHQ or the passport office it was given to you to help you search for the passport number, because without it you can't further your current application.

If you have other questions, you can quote or dm me.

Thanks for the heads-up @kyrx I have the old passport which was procured in 2006 and expired 2011, the lady was actually referring to the one before this very one and I told her I had misplaced it. The issue now is....she telling me my passport would not be released if I don provide the one I misplaced, btw I sent the data page of the former one and she told me since it was it was the ol passport, It is a fresh case and not a renewal. The mistake was actually from her but not ready to admit

Where's your selected capturing office?

If you don't mind, kindly snap the back of the one that expired in 2011, not the datapage pls. Just the back cover.

Hello all, will someone outside Nigeria need to come to Nigeria to correct a date of birth error on international passport. The person has bn using the passport despite the 3 age difference on it but it's limiting the person especially when it comes to presenting certificates.

What's the age on his NIN? If same age, he needs to correct that first before the passport corrections because they must match.

It's not same age. Real age is on the NIN

If you're still within 45yrs/o, go to the nairaland travel section and read on travel paths you think you can afford. You can find everything you need there.

Depending on his location, he may not need to come to Nigeria to have it done.

Since his NIN is correct already he can apply for correction of data.

Yes, this depends solely on the capturing center. Some have lesser population to deal with, hence faster production.

Hi Guys, I completed my passport application at Owerri in July (DIY candidate). But I left Owerri and have not been able to check back to know if my passport is ready for collection. The guys there promised to call me in 3 weeks once it's ready, but I haven't gotten a call since then.
I have also not been able to track my application on the site recently because it is telling me I have "wrong login credentials."
Can I send someone to collect it for me by proxy?

You can't by pass anything,don't let that fool you.

My uncle once did his BVN in Union Bank in 2016,and left it, because he forgot the account opening process wasn't complete,he went to Zenith to continue with account opening claiming his a newbie in BVN registration,but his finger prints betrayed him. Once he puts his finger,it will dictate that his finger prints is registered already,that's how show spoilt for him,he has to go back to union bank to Correct it.

I suggest you follow the right process,and get it done peacefully.

Go to festac passport office, your passport will be ready after 3 weeks of capturing. They wont call you for collection oh, but go there after 3 to 4 weeks with your slip, you will get your passport. Good luck
