Food morning everyone

I want to personally use this medium to thank the mods that helped push this my post to front page. Honest I didn't expect it.
I am grateful for all the contributions, encouragements, prayers and also the negative feedbacks.

I'm preparing to head to my work place this morning but by noon I'll write a detailed post of how my addiction started fully and also details on every drug I've tested and why I got addicted to crack alone.
It's gonna be very educative.

Y'all keep dropping your contributions and questions.
I'll do well to respond.

Also please note that I have to go to work early because I work in a radio station as an IT personnel. And I'm working hard to pay up my debts and live a fully free life.
Indeed, you have @dominique to thank for that. She was on this thread and as a Supermod, she definitely pushed this realtime newsworthy experience of yours to the NL frontpage for wider viewing.

The thread has been impressive so far with a lot of high quality contributions from kind folks here. It's the camaraderie for me... The desire to share. I've originally been a member of this Website since 2005 (19 years now) and I can say without a shadow of doubt that despite the toxic hate speech and "destabilizing" presence of irresponsible bigots and troll farms being financed and operated here (and other Internet platforms) by the notorious secessionist gang whose members are based mainly in Europe, America, SA and Asia as reported by the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" investigative video documentary in 2022, NL still retains some of the most intelligent folks out there who are spread all over the world.

Crackaholic

I do not use drugs ... therefore was never an addict.... but work in a community that had been ravished by drugs ... crack cocaine to be specific. I have to interact with everybody ... the crackheads...the dealers...the pimps ...and go to homes. After a while you can see how drugs really mess up a family ... and the community. My comment is based on my observations... some things I've learned from documentaries and research ... and from the streets ... the addicts and the sellers.

The quote from Crackaholic is exactly what I was told by the most notorious crackhead in the community ... she was always high .... as in high high... even her legs and arms were out of control ... all flailing. She disappeared for a while...thought she was dead. One day reminiscing with my work mate about the crackheads ... I mentioned her ..she was my favorite... only to be told she was now clean. I couldn't believe him .... She was by far the worse of the worst ..no one came close . He told me where she lived .. I realized I went there quite a few times but the person was kind of paranoid. After seeing her...I realized it was indeed her.... looking sober but can see the crack wasn't kind to the body. It took me more than two years to summon the courage to ask how she got off ... and we had an interesting conversation. She went to all the interventions and rehabs ... none worked for her...she hit the pipe soon after. She then said exactly what Crackaholic said one day she said to herself she had enough and made up her mind to stop. I asked ... " just like that?" ... and she said yes .... cold turkey ... and never went back. She is now a counselor at a drug rehab center. I know nobody can tell her they were worse off than her or she is just all theory. If In was asked to name one addict who can never be rehabilitated...it would've been her...hands down. I relate this to say to anyone in an addiction .... build that will power to break the shackles of addiction.

It is my wish that people educate themselves about addiction ... we will know better and avoid it .... and we can understand the addicted and be in a better position to help them. Crack is highly addictive... heroine is even worse.... don't ever try either.

P. S ....less than a week ago an addict who I knew in the community passed .... she jumped through a fourth floor window. There is no soft landing around here ... just concrete... hardened concrete. Three days ago... like 20 blocks away somebody else jumped through a window. I suspect they were high on Angel dust ... that makes people believe they can fly... but with sooo many new designer drugs out .... it may very well be a new one on the market ...or used to amp up the crack or whatever.

Check this out......see how one goes downhill. Gripping.
That's a "deep" submission you made here.

That Post Script (P.S.) section of your post made my jaw drop. People jumping out to their deaths from the 4th floor due to drug addiction! It reminds me of the horrendous events of 9/11 with tiny video images of some men and women jumping right out of the windows in the blazing World Trade Center.

Lola Fani-Kayode's digitally crisp award-winning "Mind Bending" (She's Nigeria's first female movie producer) TV series which was made in 1989 and broadcast on national television with it's stellar cast of Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva-Jacobs, and more really brought home the realities of drug addiction before my very eyes and enabled me to see the destruction by hard drugs to a person's entire being. The attached image BELOW of "The Corner" miniseries made me to remember that Lola Fani-Kayode's 1989 award-winning "Mind Bending" here.

I affirm that it's time for the world to collectively stop pussyfooting and apply the death penalty through lethal injections, electric chairs, and hangings for all drug barons, all cases of drug trafficking, and more. Enough of the destructions of the social fabric in many countries of the world due to political correctness. Some otherwise peaceful neighborhoods in the United States have almost emptied out because of relentless gun violence, pimping, teenage pregnancies and drug addictions. The regular folks have moved on to some other safer cities because they couldn't continue to raise their kids or stay in their former communities anymore.

Thanks for your contribution. The drug that likely made the person jump off the window is not crack but most likely ice ( Crystal methamphetamine) or heroin or Flaka.
Those drugs cause so much depression that lead to suicidal tendencies.
Some drugs have cause certain reactions. Angel Dust ... ( don't know if another name) makes people believe they can defy gravity. First heard of it when a work mate told me not to ever try it. He did at a party.... and was trying to jump out of the window and hop over to a building across the avenue....his friends held him back . After this I learned more about it and one told me that's why it is named angel dust ... it makes you believe you can fly. The jumping out window had stopped a while now.....but if late it's on the rise. There is an anti depressant drug ...Prozac ... think it's now banned in the US ... that one caused a lot of people to slit their wrists.

So many synthetic drugs cause can cause very hazardous effects.

Crack cocaine causes you to have fear or the unknown. You feel like everybody you have wronged or you owe is coming right after you at that moment. You're always scared.

Writing down how you feel is a great step to overcoming any addiction. Next is avoidance and replacing your source of dopamine/serotin

I hear Colos is weed spiked with fentyline

The OP fit dey currently on am rn
Exactly! Replacing your source is one way. But it takes building and is a slow process many can't do.

Replacing example : you are falling in love/getting addicted to a girl, and you start diversifying that emotion into another girl or girls.

However, there is another method of replacement, which I call pairing your addiction with the unenjoyable but productive.

For instance:

1. You are suffering from gluttony. Stop eating and sitting while watching a movie. Instead, whenever you want to eat your big munch of food, go outside in the sun and eat it while standing. grin
2. You enjoy masturbating too much - Stop masturbating with porn. Masturbate while reading a complex topic or for your next certification instead. grin
3. OP is addicted to crack - Don't take crack and go to the club. Take your crack all alone while doing the work that you hate instead. Do you wonder why your fav artists who take as much crack don't suffer as much effect as OP? This is why.
4. You are a one-minute man abi - Stop knacking with emotions involved. Start recording yourself like E-bang while knacking and take it as a sport. Or better still knack ugly babes raw with fishy punanis instead and see if you would cum in one minute (just joking here o).

On a serious note, Addictions feed on our emotions. Though it's hard to beat emotions, we can always fight it by pairing it with rationality.

OP, congratulations once again for the first step in dealing with this, which is that you have realized your addiction. Many people are addicted to something but they don't even know which is far worse. And these things they are addicted to are what determines their daily decisions. An example could be scrolling on social media, feeding your eyes with so many Instagram pictures of beautiful ladies, and music videos, and this is how some men unconsciously turn to simps, and some women start building delulu expectations too. At least you identified yours.

I've noticed that ... knock lightly on their door and they react as if the whole Police Force was there to get them. One of my work mates was like that.... It's a problem if he sees anyone looking at him .... but he smoked weed. I already knew the weed was spiked with crack. Weed is neither addictive nor makes one paranoid.... it makes you calm but super hungry. Weed itself is a gateway to crack. Chew on this.... weed is not addictive. I'm selling weed and so do others... competition is stiff ... how do I get you to buy from me only? I make the weed addictive ... so I spike it ... add crack to it. When you smoke the weed you also smoke crack. Tomorrow you buy weed from someone else ... it doesn't give you the same high ... would you not come back to me? ...after all ..only I have that special weed ... while you're addicted to crack and don't even know. Same with cigarettes... tobacco is not addictive... the nicotine they add to it is what smokers are addicted to....the reason why they give you "the patch" to give up smoking ... " the patch" that keeps supplying nicotine through the skin to feed the addiction so no need to smoke.

Yeah you are right. The most important thing about quitting an addiction is will power.
Some have strong will power while others are weaker. It's about decision making and holding on to that decision.

I'll write more about how I stopped and had continued to stay sober.
I didn't use a psychiatrist as I couldn't afford at the start. I wish I could but I couldn't afford at that time. So I had to take the strong decision of quit totally or I'd be dead in a few months/years without achieving any positive outcome in life.

And didn't want to die with a failed legacy.

Well, You might not want to celebrate, Because there's no stopping it.. In my situation was crack and heroine. I was rich enough to fund my addiction, but heroine is so powerful, if you don't use it, you can't function. My advice, change location. Get married if u can afford it. Do something that gives you a sense of responsibility. Take it in reduced doses and gradually wean yourself. You don't wake up one day and stop crack. And quit committing crime. Cocaine is for the rich. And while you are it, please check your heart, liver and kidney.
No doubt .... heroine is no joke. One evening returning home from work in the subway.... winter .... freezing cold ... White middle aged guy entered .... dressed neat in slacks ... white shirt buttoned up to just below chest ... suit jacket hanging on his arm .... the guy is sweating .... profusely.... wayyy more than normal if it were a hot summer day .... he is standing next to the door...within five minutes ... the floor around him is wet with sweat ...a pool of sweat... he gets off the next stop. I'm confused like hell. Related what I saw to my sister...an RN ... who told me like an established matter of fact that he was on heroine....that heroine is one of the most addictive drugs...and explained why. When addicted ... the brain demands it ... there is an intense craving ....like other such drugs ... the difference is when the craving is not fulfilled the brain begins to put body systems out of wack .... as in the case with the guy ... it was messing with his "thermometer" .... run up his body temperature to the max .... and if he doesn't get the drug....it may then drop his temperature causing him to "freeze"....if that doesn't work ... may turn to giving him the "shittings" etc.... he will see hell until he gets that heroine. There is a drug that heroine addicts are given to get off heroine .... methadone...but that one is also addictive and has its own effects. I'm not sure if it's the heroine or the methadone.... but these addicts usually walk bent over... never upright. ...and usually have a walking stick provided by the treatment center. One funny side effect of the methadone is it makes the person suddenly freeze ...as in suddenly stop walking. You may see a guy crossing the street and halfway across he stops .... freezes... and pretty much falls asleep ... his legs begin to buckle in slow motion ... he begins to tilt over ...slow motion...and the moment he is about to fall over and bust his face ... he straightens up and continues across the street as if nothing happened.
I share this to let those who are addicted and thinking about what drug to use to get me off the addiction .... to think you may very well be trading one addiction for another. If possible.... find a hospital that can detox you ... extract all the drugs out of your system .... and after that. ... if you will stay clean will depend on your will power to do so.

Crack is a freebase form of powder cocaine available in whitish rock form.

It's available in Nigeria and all over west Africa and beyond. It's easily purchased.

Crack doesn't have such side effects. The effects are minimum and it the drug doesn't last in your system. But when you get addicted, it's gonna mess up your life. Crack is more expensive than heroin. By far!

By your statement, I can tell you have never been to America and ALL the information you have digested about America comes from movies and what you see on social media. Crack/Cocaine/prescription pills have done more damage in white communities and populations than it has in black communities. If you go to rural America, I am talking about the backwoods of Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Kansas, south and north Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, where we have real rednecks and hillbillies, you will see the damage that crack has done to those communities.

The only reason you might think blacks are more affected is because blacks live in cities and it's easier to see what's going on in the cities. Most people do not go to the backwoods of America I earlier mentioned, especially if you are not from there. That's a side of America they don't show you. There are communities there that are inbreds. Fathers sleeping with daughters, cousins marrying each other, siblings having kids together etc. Educate yourself.
I'm just reading this page 2 for the FIRST time and thought it important to step right into the convo briefly.

The guy you quoted right on page 2 of this thread CLEARLY said: "Come to SOME African-American communities," so, he didn't explicitly say: "Come to ALL African-American communities." He wasn't denigrating ALL African-American communities and he NEVER suggested in his post that African-Americans ARE MORE affected by hard drugs addiction.

However, you are spot-on in the rest of your post about White-American folks in rural America or in states where you have majority White populations who are heavy drug addicts and rednecks.

It's even funny that some folks living outside the U.S. don't realize that extreme White poverty exists in the United States (and even South Africa as well) and this has gone on for decades. The Appalachian mountains region of the United States has a high rate of White poverty that outsiders who hype the economic successes of White folks don't even realize exists. Their living standards in that region are completely subsistence and I recall seeing a White couple being interviewed who had to postpone their visit to the dentist to have a tooth replacement because of lack of funds. When an opportunity for free dental treatments from a philanthropic organization suddenly came through, MANY of the residents jumped at the opportunity and had to create long queues in order to get dental checks and other medical treatments!

Nearly every ethnic community in the United States is affected by hard drugs usage and substance abuse to varying percentages, but Asian-Americans based on statistics are less likely to fall too deeply into that hard drugs trap because of their high education, sociocultural value system and work ethics.

Na wetin Tinubu been dey sell and sniff before he forfeit $460K to the US government for 93. I'm sure he still sniffs till date. Hence, why the country is being ran aground.
Your post is CRIMINALLY defamatory and most irresponsible! Do you realize that the U.S. government returned $1.4 million USD back to the Nigerian President Tinubu's U.S. bank accounts in that same 1993? The $460,000 was a forfeiture for the backlog of unpaid taxes he didn't pay because he returned to Nigeria so it was deducted from the overall money he had in his U.S. bank accounts. As of that 1993, I was AWARE of the court case in the U.S. which later exonerated him because he had NO case to answer. The Americans are very meticulous and do NOT do plea bargains with bloody drug barons and drug dealers who have destroyed the lives of millions of people worldwide. General Manuel Antonio Noriega who was the military dictator in Panama was in 1990 forcibly brought by U.S. troops to face criminal charges for being a drug baron. Panama invaded in December 1989 and by January 1990 he had surrendered from his hiding place to the troops and flown to the United States. I witnessed all these events in real time on satellite television in 1989 as Panama was invaded by U.S. forces just to bring one man to justice in the United States for sponsoring drug trafficking to their country and other countries. The United States can be VERY ruthless with drug barons and Bola Tinubu wasn't one but he was a tecnocrat with Mobil Nigeria (now ExxonMobil) who rose to the prestigious role of a treasurer.

I'm NOT a big fan of Tinubu (because he tends to be too nice and allows all sorts to be said about him and NOBODY respects people like that), but I hate it when some people blatantly and relentlessly tell lies against others on an open forum like Nairaland with so much confidence thereby MISLEADING others. I have a great deal of revulsion towards such people. You won't blame Tinubu if he angrily strikes all of you one by one for this because even in 2001, the U.S. Embassy in Lagos had issued a CLEAR press release stating that the then Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State had NO criminal case in the United States. Despite all the evidence posted to counter these criminal defamations, I do NOT expect any normal person to continue to derail threads with these kinds of blatant FALSEHOODS but it has persisted. You can rightly accuse him of ANY other thing but NOT being a heroin addict and drug baron because the meticulous U.S. courts declared him innocent in 1993.

Seyi Tinubu is a UK-trained lawyer... The day Bola Ahmed Tinubu decides to take his image seriously and take legal action against all of you online and offline defamers who are deliberately spreading FAKE news about him, is the day you all will learn a big lesson that there is NO absolute freedom to CRIMINALLY defame other people in public.

Today I'll be writing briefly about my crack cocaine addiction urge/craving feeling.

The craving for crack increases the more you use it. The urge is so strong that nothing else will please you except more crack.
When the urge for crack is activated in the bain of a user, it deactivates interest in almost all normal activities and makes you focus on only getting crack. You loose interest in your job, relationships, social interactions, can't maintain friendships, can't have reasonable conversations, no appetite to eat.

Due to the method of taking my crack cocaine, I fell into smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol as well. Cigarettes and alcohol are mainly used side by side with crack cocaine.

Things that activate my crack cocaine cravings
1. Money: I can be sober for days without much cravings but as soon as money gets into my possession, all my attention and interest gets diverted to taking crack. I suddenly loose appetite to eat. My body starts vibrating. All my thoughts are just about crack. I loose interest in having long conversations, all I think of is crack. And immediately I get it and get the high, the cravings become even worse. You'd need more and more and more crack cocaine the more you take it. You don't get satisfied until you run out of cash. I tell you, I can smoke out 100k crack in a day. I've done it. That's just about a few grams.
2. Sighting someone else taking crack.
3. Smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol

I'll write more on 2 and 3 later today.

And I have more experiences to share. I'll talk about the experience of my first fatal overdose of crack cocaine and more.

I've made life choices. I've gotten a stable job. I have a wife. Expecting my baby in a few months. I now have better money management skills. Though I'm not yet fully recovered, I'm a lot better now and cravings are reduced drastically.

I'll write a more detailed post later when I'm closed from my work.
