I need assistance with an issue I have been experiencing while trying to book my visa appointment. After making an online payment through First Bank, I encountered the following issues: When I input my bank deposit details, the system displays the message: "Given payment receipt does not exist." When I use my Amentum reference number, it redirects me to the preapproval request section. However, after entering all required details, I get the error message: "Query did not return a unique result: 2. Nested exception is 'javax.persistence.NonUniqueResultException: query did not return a unique result: 2.'" I have been facing these issues for two weeks now and urgently need to book/schedule an appointment for my visa interview. Could you please advise on how to resolve this? Thank you for your time and assistance. |

Blackfinegirl:I have sent several emails to them but no response. It’s been months now. Does it mean I should just forget it or reapply? |

Showkey1313:Though it's different strokes for different folks but I do not think a mock interview will do you any good. It can never be accurate, the only question you are bound to have is the 'who is sponsoring your studies?' if you are not on a sponsored programme, visa interviews are usually not more than 4 minutes per person, I doubt mine was up to 3, though it felt so long. There are 3 points to getting an F1 visa. Sponsorship, ties to the US, and ties to your home country. Ties to the US is already 50% achieved if you are applying for an F1 visa, it will become 100% if you can answer any other follow up questions about your choice of course, department or university. Ties to Nigeria is the tricky part, it can come in any shape or form, it may be from the point of your current employment and if there's a chance you will return to it (length usually helps), it may also come if you intend to travel with your dependents (which is the most tricky of it, a simple no or yes may not be enough for them). My advise, which is very personal as it worked for me is to know everything about your university as it relates to you, know everything about your department as it relates to you and know everything about your course as it relates to you. Read each of the course outline and see which one will be convincing to meet your need for the course, read about your university and see how it is the most suitable for your next career or personal growth. I got funded, so I can't give the best advise for funding questions as none were asked me, but I believe you should be able to link whoever is responsible for paying your fees adequately to yourself, prove the person has enough finances and your growth will affect the person (all in less than 2 sentences). For the Nigerian tie, only God can help you with the an appropriate response, the interviewers are smart people and they are hoping that you say the wrong thing so they can deny you, so please find a way to convince them you are coming back to your job and your dependents do not need to visit you during the course of your studies. As I said all I wrote is my personal experience. It was my first trial though, but I saw enough rejected applicants and heard their interview on the day of my interview. In all, have very strong faith in your God. |

chimax1:Same happened to me. Interview July 2nd, received email for passport august 23, got it back two weeks later. Sending them an email bounces back on auto reply, so there is really nothing you can do for now. This your 3 months wait is a lot tho. Mine was 7 weeks even tho it still felt like a lot anyways. In my case, passport was never collected after interview. Also, no documents was asked. Trump placed my previous graduate school in the technology alert list in his first tenure. So in my case, I knew why, even tho they didn't tell me. So maybe this helped me calm down. I understand if you don't even know why but it's still a better place to be than outright rejection. F2 visa application The husband and wife couldn't apply together because the husband isn't in the country at the moment. Location: Lagos Embassy Result: Denied Transcript VO: Why are you going to the US? F2 applicant: I’d like to go spend some time with my spouse, who is starting a PhD in ____ at ______ University. VO: (cuts conversation off) How long have you been married? F2 applicant: Today makes it 4 months we’ve been married. We’ve been together for 5 years. VO: When did you meet? F2 applicant: We met in 2019, we were in final year in school. VO: (Proceeds to have a long conversation with two other VOs) How long would you be there for? F2 applicant: A month so I can return to my …… VO: So why aren’t you applying for a visiting visa B1 B2 F2 applicant: I applied for F2 since my husband holds an F1….. V.O: (Cuts conversation off while typing and focusing on her screen)…Since you’d spent a month, why are you not applying for a visiting visa? How am I supposed to believe you’d return? F2 applicant: I have a growing career and a business to return to. We recently acquired a piece of land to start building our future home. I will be supervising the building project, and I have the land documents here…. V.O: I don’t need to see that (continues typing). What do you do? How much do you make? F2 applicant: I tell how much I make and what I do. Then, proceed to say, we’re a really young couple, and I’d like to spend my next annual leave in January with my husband. V.O: I’m sorry you do not qualify (hands blue paper). I'd really appreciate any help on how to proceed in the future. |

[quote author=Shark04 post=132756666]Pls can someone help me out on this. I cancelled my appointment but as I wanted to book new appointment it keep telling me that "duplicate applicant found". So I saw a post here on how to solve the issue by changing the last digit number of the passport.. But the question I wanted to asked is that will I used the correct Passport number or the one I used to fill the new appointment to do the payment in bank. Thanks Pls who has cleared the “duplicate applicant error” |

Samuell2019:Wrong category of visa. If truly going for a month, you do a visit visa. If you plan on moving over to stay with him, then F2 can be appropriate. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by liliberth: 12:52pm On Nov 29, 2024 |
Samuell2019:I think your best bet, would be the B1/B2, get it. Visit your husband and then reapply for the F2 since they mentioned why not B1/B2 which would give you an upper edge. That's what I would do if it was me. But it's all up to you what you want. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by FVA89: 1:02pm On Nov 29, 2024 |
Samuell2019:Sorry about your denial To avoid future denial your best bet would be to apply for a b visa. Might be hard to convince subsequent VO that you would be coming back when you fill 2, 3 or even 4 week stay. And if you change your story line to say you want to stay for the entire duration, you might cause a bigger problem |

RealTrump:The status on the portal says refused, not even admin processing 🥹. And passport was sent back, in the passport a 221g letter requested to schedule another interview with no additional documents requested, but that was before the whole migration to the new portal. Now migration has not been completed ( have not received any email) , missed the fall sememster, and spring is around the corner again. 🥺 |
