On the bright side, the era of trooping to Abuja to share allocations is coming to an end.

shocked OGA zulum so you are admitting that the north is a parasite and a leach.

So your state can't generate revenue ba?
Make una merge
Yahaya bello , ganduje , Buhari should bring out all the money they stole. It will help cure the hunger in the north., the bill must scale through ooo, not using our hard earned money from the south to be paying bandits and terrorists in Sambisa forest

I used to respect this man, I never knew he is no different from the other incompetent fools in the corridor of power. I can now see where Senator Ndume energy is coming from. You people don't want alcohol, gambling, club houses, etc yet you want to continue to benefit from the vat accruing from them. Stop sponsoring Boko Haran, Fulani herdsmen, banditry and grow your economy and stop wailing unnecessary.

The north is a fucking parasite, leeching on and living off other working states.

No SW and SS/SE states will struggle, not because they've got the money yet, but because they are resourceful, and they do not create problems like book haram, in a bid to siphon money!

So, Zulum, can Bleep off, respectfully of course.
Alot of states in the north and even in the south were created for political gains and not economic growth, we have 6 geopolitical zones it's better to turn these 6 geopolitical zones , into regional government and implement regional resource control so that every region will make use of the natural resources and use it to develop their regions

Because they have the highest number of poor states
Ekiti well also be affected negatively. Ditto Ebonyi and even Abia but trust southern govs to play the Mugu and just be siddon looking while their northern counterparts speak up

The people you are paying salaries, what are they doing for you?
That's like saying they need unfair VAT and Taxes sharing to keep sharing money freely to people they call workers.

I am not a tilumbu supporter but this tax reforms would compel states to seat up

In all honesty, the north has no reason to be poor. They have land for agriculture. That alone that drive their economy. They have to seat up and do the needful

This reform would force states to be secure and they would be literally falling over themselves to attract investors.
But agric products have zero VAT according to the bill
Re: We Won't Be Able To Pay Salaries If Tax Reform Bills Scale Through - Gov Zulum by amah4game: 2:43pm On Nov 29, 2024
At the point agriculture was a major or sole revenue generator... For what ever selfish reasons the left agric and started milking oil. And left bandits and other terrorists disrupt farming activities. If only the north would look inward and keep oil aside... Agriculture and tourism are just but two sectors enough to make the even forget allocations coming from the center.

Lol. This Tinubunomics, e must touch everybody!
Why I like this opposition from the North is simple: they either once & for all prove they “own” Tinubu & punish him with their votes come 2027 or forever be demystified because the way PBAT is moving, it doesn’t look like he sends anybody’s father, especially the North.

south east and north east are parasites based on data.

Infact south east is bigger parasite, but north east leaders are shameless enough to admit they are parasites unlike the south east.

Without being emotional about the subject matter, the Governor has some points.

Although, the proposed bill has some advantages such as improving capacity building of each state to generate their own revenue, we mustn't be unmindful of the fact that not all the States, particularly those in the North, are on equal footing at the moment.

The envisaged new tax law should be through a gradual transition process of say, 10 years, if the sudden change in the tax administration would not throw up more socioeconomic problems for the most vulnerable States.

However, this should serve as a clarion call to all the States of the Federation that the days of Father Christmas in Abuja are gradually coming to an end.

Let all the States begin to look inwards if the beggarly mindset must be jettisoned.

Lol. After 30 years of the north enjoying most of the proceeds from crude oil through the 20 new federating units created in the northern region by northern military dictators who left only 17 new federating units in two southern regions; northern leaders now protest Tax Reform which they believe will yield lesser returns to the north.
"Come up to the National Assembly for political restructuring of Nigeria." This has been the response from
Northern leaders to their southern region counterparts who dared ask for the needed restructuring of Nigeria's skewed and lopsided political structure that favours only the northern region. Because north knows that the National Assembly is overpopulated by legislators from the old Northern region through the myriad number of states created in the old Northern region.

if you want to solve a problem, you solve it once.

Solving problem small small has never worked in Nigeria.

Another government will get there and reverse everything if it's not done once and for all.

A state that is not buoyant can arrange to borrow from another buoyant state ,nothing spoil ; the best thing for everyone is to go and work ...think out of the box on the best way to transform your land through investment... Let's stop deceiving ourselves .. Every state is rich but some leaders are lazy mentally and deceptive to their people . Go and work ,farming alone in the north is enough to take the nation higher but since the leaders have chosen to promote insecurity, let them be facing the consequences so they can stop the nonsense

"Asked to comment on whether the lawmakers would pass the bills when lobbied and given kickbacks, Zulum said, “There are rumours around but we are not certain. But you know we are in Nigeria! What I am saying is that let us all be patriotic. We have children, grandchildren and relatives who are in villages, therefore, we should be careful not to endorse anything that would impede the progress of the north and other regions. We are appealing to the President to listen to us and address our concerns.”

You can imagine the above statement flowing from the beginning. The same practice has been in long existence since time immemorial. Bribing legislators to assent bill, you can imagine if that bill is going to favour the clueless masses. Yet, some ignorant folks are still in support of this devilish government and their evil party when their future is being mortgaged with their children and children's children.

In other news, Elumelu and Jim Ovia are codedly engaging in money laundering for Tinubu in France with their new branches waiting to be established in France. Nigeria never see anything. After Thiefn00bu 8 inglorious years, Nigerians will blame themselves. You guys have never seen anything.
