sparko1:It gat every thing to do with that prawn. If the economic situations of things in Nigeria is good, they would not load 200 people on a single boat. Same way you will enter overloaded Danfo to work just to save costs. You don’t want high transport cost you choose to cut cost. Same way the driver don’t want to lose, will decide to reduce price so you can go to work but to mitigate this he has to carry overload. Oga, the driver is not doing charity work to carry only you for low price. He must make gain. That’s business. As long as the government of the day is evil, everybody must survive. Everybody in Nigeria is doing same thing in different environments and endeavors. We just like pointing fingers on the drivers whenever accident happened but the real people to hold responsible are the criminals at the Helm of affair who made Nigerians behave like animals and fraudulently in other to survive. Nigeria is a jungle where only the strong survive, the weak die or you die strongly to survive. You are doing worst, it’s just that yours have not caught up with you. It’s not your fault. It’s no body fault. It’s the criminals parading themselves as leaders. |

You will think we dont have a minister of transport ![]() By now they should have stepped in ?? Make rules ?? License all the transporters ?? Put limits on how many people they can carry ?? invest in lifeboat ?? Arrange lifeguards for rescue prior to each trip ?? Something should have been done, but everyday we just hear 200 dead, 450 dead, 800 dead ....!!!!! NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING, ONCE IT DIDNT HAPPEN IN ABUJA AND NO SENATOR WAS INVOLVED. THE CITIZENS CAN KEEP DYING. |

Antoeni:Oga shut up there. Is it Tinubu that prevent them from observing safety measures to protect themselves? Is this the first time boat mishap is happening on our waterways? Why do people risk their lives and jettison the use of life jackets on the waterways? Once you know you can't swim or manoeuvre your way when things like this happen, pls don't use boat at all, it's very risky. RIP to the dead, it's so unfortunate. |

sweetjohn:Like you will put water in your car because of Tinubu, or decides to enter a one chance car because of transport cost. I do business that involve boat, you don't allow someone profit margin to get you in trouble, stay home, 200 women gone, there business is gone, children motherless, husband windowed. This has been happening long before Tinubu because president, you can spin it all you want, Nigerians are reckless by nature. |

Antoeni:Your sense.lessness did not query how reasonable it is for a " boat" to carry 200 people but you can fly up to scream Tinubu. To be a leader is very tough honestly. |

Sonofgod1990:you don't even know how to spell his name... What has Tinubu got to do with this? He risked his life to travel to France for the betterment of our nation but you still blame him for this avoidable mistake... Must you remain bitter all your life? Focus on making your own life better and Nigeria problem will reduce. |

chigoziri2403:you wudnt know what is happening there.these ppl have no choice but to undertake these life threatening journeys over night. The distance btw them and the market in katcha is such that you had to travel overnight to meet up with the popular market. There are no motorable roads and the alternative routes are even cut off during the rainy season coz everywhere becomes water logged. These are the times you probably will spend 4 to 5 hours on the river with overflowing current.woe betide you if it rains in one of such nights.you cud be faced with a huge tree that is been transported by water current. Worse is, this is one of the few ways to survive in these areas.am from there and I lost an aunt in the accident.its been a while I cried.she was dear to me. |

If you know the mentality of NI55ers - you will understand why this happened. Over-pack - over-pack -- over pack - in terms of cargo and ppl. Travel on any international plane and see ppl who want to carry their whole village in their suitcase. RIP to the dearly departed - women looking to feed their families. |
