I have a key suspicion of what the benefits may be,it's long term and only a leader like tinubu can pull it off. The key is the establishment of Nigerian banks in France. Ask yourself how french products ran the streets in Nigeria for a long time with no competition and the prices were cheap. Who benefitted the most and how can nigeria benefit directly from such arrangements in the future.... How can nigeria benefit from an economic relationship with France....what is the volume of our real trade with them or what items are of potential value to us that France has. Think Saint Louis sugar of back in the day and now... think energy,France is the power house of alternate energy... Lastly we are sorrounded by dumb hostile anti nigeria and anti France nations in the north, classic case of the enemy of my enemy is my friend... no permanent allies or enemies here. Only interests This is not a lame move, that I'm sure...we just need to keep reminding ourselves and our leaders, that Frances historical relationship with Africa and Haiti has been vampire like parasitic.and not to agree to their foolish clauses such as, 1. To set military boots on a sovereign soil when Frances bussiness interests are threatened... that was the basis for invading Libya 2. To collect the value back or destroy everything they contributed when the agreements end or are terminated .... like they did in Haiti and some other places That said nigerias association with France is something we should all keep a close eye on.. please what have we agreed to with France, someone please use the FOI bill. |

faceland:we are still being run by the armored embassy Brits. How do you think we can survive the assimilative French? If all francophone nations rejected France, why do we think we can survive where others failed? Mind you,we have great faultlines(religion and ethnicity) The French will gouge on those for centuries |

engrchykae:I don't think we can be abused like them and the few France that work here are far more fair than the Chinese. Niger, Chad, Cameroon, you can be president for life, allow France to print your nations currency and so on. Try that in Nigeria and you have a civil war. |
