Typical armchair analysis bereft of any sense as per usual. You agree with everything he says and does, wether right or wrong. Yet you haven't picked up one of those moove cars and resign from your low paying job, since driving moove cars by cheerfugiver is now the new gold rush. Mumu.

Some takes dey amaze me.
When u are talking about this office work to compare with ehailing, pls include the salary range so that one can properly comprehend, digest and critique your point.
Currently Palmpay is offering me 300k loan, I can collect 500k from GTB and I have gotten upto 3m from Renmoney.

Even though u are arguing left and right, I can conclude you are saying if an Ehailing driver has financial discipline and management then he is far better than a salary earner. Am I right?
I have long come to the conclusion that it's not about the money for a lot of drivers, it's the "rep" that's eating them. The perception that they're "ordinary Uber drivers". That's where I think the issue is otherwise why are we always arguing about numbers? Numbers don't lie.
Na inferiority complex and low self esteem don give them chokehold

I get you point, everyone is impacted by the circumstance of the economy but an office person probably can respond better to factors that threatens his income in a more steady manner or long term plan. That is why most banks will rather loan funds to an employee than a small business owner.

See examples of control -

- an office person can has a base pay he can use to plan long term. If you are earning 100k a month, all things being equal, you are able to better project than someone who could earn 200K one month and 20K the next month because his car is faulty of lastma seized the car.

When the petrol price goes up, an office person can actively target hybrid or remote roles to cut costs. They can move closer to their place of work. As an ehailing driver, petrol price goes up and undercuts your profits, you are more constraint and can only respond in a limited manner. You are dependent on the ehailing platform to raise prices. You may try to do offline or some other things to push prices higher, but that could cost you your place in that platform which makes it risky.

cheerful being on rental does not add up. Except the leasor is operating at a loss, cheerful's profit is being undercut by the leasor. Not forgetting the leasor likely has restrictive covenants that limits the free use of the car to pursue his aims.

It's like tinubu claiming to save trillions from oil & FX subsidy removal and yet going on a borrowing spree in spite of high oil prices. It doesn't add up.
Look, personally I have been an office person for several years. I have also been an employer of labor for years.

Now, talking about an office person. There are categories of salary. For an office person earning 300k downwards, how do you want to measure that individual with someone making 50k daily after all expenses.

Most office people survive on loans, using their salary to service one loan or the other. I have been there and still have several colleagues who are still office workers.

Infact I have a close friend who cannot do anything else aside office work.

Before the next salary, he's broke to zero.

I also know some office people balling and living large as well - this category earn above 1M and above monthly.

See this screenshot below, this is one of my colleagues. We are working in same company and department before I resigned in 2019.

This is not to mock him, but I use it to buttress my point. Been an office person doesn't guarantee that you are financially capable and okay.

Saw a video today (don't know how accurate she is or her source o) that said around 90% of of Nigerians earn less than 150k monthly. The remaining are spread across 5 other income brackets.

CheerfulGiver:
An office person earning 200k monthly is better than a driver earning 200k weekly?

You're willing to sacrifice your integrity to say that a yearly gross income of 1.2m of an office person is way better than a yearly net income of a bolt driver at 9.6m just because you want to minimize the hustle? Because the driver has no discipline, according to you.

Makes no sense, but what do I know?

I'll rather eat 200k suya monthly and still have 600k left, than be any sort of slave that leaves home before 5am and gets home past 10pm because of 200k. God forbid.

Make una enjoy the office work. grin
When I use to do office work.
Once alarm ring by 4am, I must wake up to prepare for work. Latest by 4:50am, I'm already walking down my street to the bus stop to join staff bus. If I mistakenly wake up late, I have to call in sick or jump public bus and get to work past 10am due to traffic.

When people keep shouting office work, this and that. They feel some of us driving have not done anything else before ehailing 😂

Personally, I don't like working for someone. I like a kind of work I will do, that when I put in all my efforts, I can determine how much I make daily instead of waiting for Monthly Salary.

I'm business oriented, office work is not my calling. That's why I had to resign from my former work place.

Could be true. The high earners are concentrated in just a few states.

What work are you going to do in a place like Makurdi, Gombe or Abeokuta to demand 150k+ a month?

And these are state capitals.

It should be correct. Any salary below 500k in this T-pain economy is management.
People earning above 1M, 2M, 3M are even complaining not to talk of people earning below 500K.

My immediate younger brother is a federal government employee. He has stopped driving his car to work due to high cost of maintenance and fuel.

So is not about office work or not.

A lot of people doing business are doing far better than salary earners.

I have some friends doing various businesses at Alaba, Trade fair and other markets. They are balling well.

Salary work is good, if you happen to be at the high earner range 500k upwards to say the least.

But someone earning 50k, 100k, 150k or 200k will come here to talk down on ehailing drivers 😂
