Port Harcourt Refinery Admits Scaling Down Operations For Upgrade by Tracey000000900(op): 10:09pm On Dec 01, 2024
The Port Harcourt Refining Company has clarified that its operations were not completely halted but scaled down to facilitate improvements at the facility.

The Executive Director, Operations, Nigerian Pipeline and Storage Company Limited, Moyi Maidunama, disclosed this on Sunday during a guided tour of the refinery led by the Managing Director, Ibrahim Onoja.

Speaking to journalists, Maidunama acknowledged a temporary hitch in operations but explained that the reduction was necessary to address technical issues and enhance capacity.

He said, “So, the operations were not halted. It was obviously reduced due to some improvements that we needed to make.

“We are managing the process with the number of trucks available today, using a few loading arms for evacuation. This should be resolved soon.”

He assured all that product distribution was ongoing, with several trucks loading refined products, and added that the process would continue uninterrupted.

The Terminal Manager, Port Harcourt Depot, Worlu Joel, confirmed that the facility had commenced the distribution of products, including Premium Motor Spirit, kerosene, and diesel.

It's surprising that we're never exactly hearing the truth about this refinery. Is it that some news outlet are cooking up fables to degrade the refinery or it's actually not living up to the hype in truth?

Anyway, if you care to make some dollar cash as a side hustle. Check my siggy, profile, and learn about ST, Cbex. It's about the only thing I can guarantee helps people get daily 10k+ lately

Upgrade in deed. What a lie! A refinery that has just been repaired barely a week, is now the turn of Upgrade. What a shame. They should find a better lie to tell Nigerians again

Re: Port Harcourt Refinery Admits Scaling Down Operations For Upgrade by nairalanda1(m): 7:10am On Dec 02, 2024
Kind of funny the way this refinery is going up and down.

It just shows that NNPC is finding it difficult to adapt to the new reality whereby there is no more free government money(Though we have to wait to be sure that the government is really no longer paying subsides....). It is now having to work for its money, and it is finding it hard going.

Subsidy should have gone in 1993, by now, we would be essentially acting as a refining hub for much of west and central Afrique.

This is a sickening mentality. Nigeria is for all Nigerians. A Rivers state man currently runs the overall affairs of the FCT where he should have no business, if we're to go by this your warped logic.

This Nigerian mentality of "my person must benefit" is mostly responsible for the backwardness we're still grappling with. So even if there isn't a qualified and efficient Rivers indigene to sit amongst the Directors, one should just be fixed in there to placate your tribal sensationalism and ethnic bias, abi?

Have you even seen the names of its directors before coming here to try fomenting chaos with this your nonsensical opinion?

Oga, it's too early in the day for this rubbish! Respect yourself!
