Why Are We (nigerians) Like This? by Darlingme(op): 2:57pm On Dec 02, 2024
I'm trying to understand something here.
Why is it that during election, we become divided, tribalistic, religious and die hard followers of bad government (politicians), but when it's time for consequence, we collectively received it together?

I can vividly remember during the last election, with one of my friend, we almost lost our friendship because of his support to this present government. Today he's also complaining. Things are hard.
But I'm still sure if by tomorrow his tribal person stand to contest against another different person, he will still choose his tribal brother over the other. no matter how bad his tribal person is. That's the exact behavior of many Nigerians.

Why are we like that?
Even though we suffer, once it comes to religion, tribalism. We wouldn't mind the stress. But why?
And what can save us from these bondage?

We are ignorant. And that's why we are bigots and subject to divide and rule. If we weren't ignorant, we'd be like the Chinese who don't care if the cat were black or white so long as it caught mice.

Good thing is this suffering is like rain that falls on everyone's head, so when we all get wet we'd all try to alleviate it together or just suffer more until we learn to elect competence regardless of tribe or religion or gender.

Stop typing long rubbish, everyone has constitutional rights of choice. And that shouldn't be your business

It's very unfortunate that we all have to suffer the consequence together

Are you for real? The constitutional rights of choice that when it's time for punishment, we all suffer it together? That's not fair. That's shouldn't be a slogan for any nation, any people that needs positive development.

Says someone from a region where their tribal guy won about 90% of their votes (the only candidate that has total support from his tribe). It's either you louts lack selfawareness, or you're dense beyond belief.

But can you compare the suffering of your family members of today with that of 3 or even 10 years ago?
Besides, what stop the nation from improving on public suffering?

Every crooked politician with all his heart, loves an uneducated populace. Only illiteracy can make a man applaud the reduction of his purchasing power for no sensible economic reason when he has no idea what the statement really means! If religion is the opium of the masses, it is the mkp mmyri of the half-baked literate. grin

The answer is very simple

Religious difference too

Its a natural human phenomenon. You support your tribeman because you think you would benefit. But in reality only 0.00001% benefits ( appointments, jobs and contracts). In America some people voted based on race and sex. Politicians understand the game and keep playing us

Was this girl trying to vote an incompetent fool by supporting her tribal brother she had totally condemned before the election period?

Will God also punish her and her likes who are illiterates and tribalists?

Or it was her constitutional right to whitewash her tribesman and support him?

Many more examples of the tribal somersaults of Igbos are handy if you want me to enlighten your ignorance.

none of them are saint but we know the bigger crook.
I’d rather go with a thief with more humane mind that a crook who’s identity is debatable.
Everything about your broda TIFNUBU is debatable, name, parents, age, certificates omo I know some Yoruba are wise but it’s sad enough that folks like you makes the bigger number
