Where is the the payroll organised from ? Is it the creeks of the Niger Delta ? Where is the recruitment taken place ? HR and the admins are all based in Lagos and they organised the payroll and PAYE tax from Lagos. Remember Sen. Dickson was a governor, and he knows the grave injustice that was done to the oil producing states

When a company has its corporate headquarters in Lagos from which they fly their staffs to the Niger Delta creeks, Is such a system not already schewed to favour Lagos ? you cant live in lagos and work offshore in bayelsa..and then collect bayelsa salary to go pay lagos tax..make that make sense..its your problem if you want to live in lagos but you must pay your taxes to bayelsa who pays your salary..na lagos dey pay you when you wan take bayelsa money to pay eko tax.. you are paying so may indirect Taxes already by living in lagos. taxes from rent, through transportation to others,just by living in lagos.

Yes, they pay their tax in Lagos because they have their office there, when actual production is taking place in Niger Delta. This is a big scam Lagos people don't want to talk about.

Tax is not the way you explained it, companies pay company income tax which goes to federal government, and staff tax is paid to states, if the oil company staff are in Bayelsa, Bayelsa state government will collect the tax and those staff in Lagos will pay to Lagos state.

That is not true. The oil companies does their PAYE Tax from Lagos where their office is. The actual exploration and production activities takes place in the Niger Delta. Lagos takes all the PAYE tax of the IOC

STOP the emotional rant

Those workers who Iive full time in the oil producing states pay PAYE to those states
There are leakages for those workers especially contract staff that are flown in on helicopters and move to offshore locations or move from one state to another . If you are on a salary for one employer and work in 4 different states regularly it is complex
Some are attributed to Lagos and many do not pay any tax to any state at all. They actually pay tax in their home country if they are not Nigerian .
Do not make sweeping statements about things you are clueless about.
Take an FPSO 100 miles off the coast e.g. it is not in any state.
If any PAYE is paid there it will accrue to the state designated by the workers
If they are Nigerian they have a choice to state where they live if they are foreign it may be Lagos but most claimm non domiciled status

If regional govt is instituted today, I'm sure places like Bayelsa will be so back even with loads of oil.

They are in a hurry to pass the bill but alot of laws need to be amended before that bill should be passed. They just whitewash the whole thing to appear good for us southerners but we know who will take the lion share.
I once worked for a company that was headquartered in lagos and my paye tax was going there until I needed to do something in the state I reside that's when I knew what was going on

Bt oil producing states earn far higher than other states.I tot this was only for VAT sharing formula which to me seems fair.crude oil is for d whole country as per natural resources bt revenue generated frm tax should be shared based on what a states brings in
