The only reason why there are civilians casualties in gaza is because of the style of warfare being fought there, an insurgency style of warfare. Hamas uses civilians structures making it difficult for the idf to engage without incurring civilians casualties.

Imagine if Israel was getting overun by terrorist, by now there would have been at least two navy battle groups in the area. A quick reaction force (QRC) would have been mobilized to defend Israel. The US would also rally its allies to contribute and help defend Israel.

But here will have a stranded helpless Assad putting his trust on a certain Russia who can't even fight it's own battles without aid from others. A Russia who claims to be a world power an influence on other nations yet it can't even bring together its allies to form a united front.
