I do not think he should be deported. Our Nigerian pastors need to be aware that everything abroad is regulated. Even phone calls are monitored if someone is a person of interest. Especially in the UK, they get translators to help them if you speak in Yoruba. Be careful in these "advanced" societies. Some years ago, Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo of Kingsway International Christian Center in the UK was sacked as a trustee of his church by the UK Charity Commission because church money was used to buy a car for him as a trustee of the church. It was seen as abuse of his position and financial impropriety. Christ Embassy was also investigated for financial impropriety in the UK, and in 2019, the church was indicted for fraud. Now to the pastor. He probably attracted attention to himself through his online activities, which were unnecessary. The cars, the dressings, the controversies, the shoppings. It might have been better to keep a low profile. The authorities are always on the lookout. Same thing that exposed Hushpuppi. Finally, Nigeria is one of the most liberal countries in the world where people can get away with some of the things we see daily. For example, mismanaging church funds is not tolerated elsewhere. If I pay tithe or offering and I see my pastor driving a brand new Maybach, it is taken seriously if I report to the UK Charity Commission that my pastor does not have a job apart from pastor and he is driving a Maybach.
