The Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Dr. Yunusa Tanko has called on its members to resist the arrest of human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi.

Farotimi was arrested in Lagos on Tuesday and taken to Ekiti state over alleged libel complaint by Chief Afe Babalola (SAN).

In a post on his X page, Tanko wrote “The arrest of Obidient @DeleFarotimi is the manifestation of the the decay in our Democratic Process. We shall resist this. All Obidients MUST RESIST this ……….. Watch out for our press conference tomorrow…….. A New Nigeria is POssible”.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Peter Obi, Femi Falana (SAN), Richard Akinnola and other prominent Nigerians have condemned Farotimi’s arrest by the police.

Was due process followed in his arrest?

Has his fundamental human rights been violated in the process of arresting him?

Did he break any law to warrant his arrest?

Is he above the law?

From what I gathered, Afe Babalola owns a university,and here he is working with those bent on making Nigeria the mockery she has since become!

Late Ramond Dokpesi of AIT made the same mistake of using his AIT to publish lies against Jagaban, in 2014.
He was slammed with a 500 billions libel, he had to settle out of court.
Chief Afe Babalola is giving this charge and bail lawyer an escape route, and he's not even taking it, instead he was whipping up public sympathy.
If Afe Babalola decided on a trillion naira libel against the this efrebor lawyer, do you think the public can help him?.

After all both of them are educated people, it is hard to see educated people support a disaster from the Apc calamity stock.
