I keep monitoring marketing material daily, from billboards to signages and its understandably paramount that we are not a productive economy. The number of businesses that survive from the left is a serious cause for concern. If you develop a modelling software that uses data of the number of people, the number of businesses, purchasing power, investment opportunities, you would come to discover that the economy doesnt make any sense |

And this one calls himself a pastor? The issue with religious observance is that the subjects of it do not observe and submit to it's decrees and ordinances accordingly. For example, Nigerians go to church & mosque very often, but see stealing in their office roles as normal. Most don't even want to know God indeed, but prays much, and even hire prayer merchants. The hands of our priests have also been soiled. Thus their walls and ground are polluted, that is why their is no real transformation or power. A true religious revival brings spiritual empowerment and will cleanse and prosper it's land. The land's of Israel prospered particularly during the kingship of David, Hezekiah, Solomon etc. A revival of God occured during the days of Hezekiah, he brought back the decrees of God and there was strange innovations and advancement. Most of the tech advancements we see in many countries are inspired ideas by spirits. This particular pastor needs to find his true bearing. |

The things we pray for in naija are the things we take for for granted where i am. Good roads, constant electricity, quality health sector and education sector. Transportationis top notch. Everyone is happy. But my naija people dey pray to God to do all these for us. Shame. 2 Likes |

Kobojunkie:You're not wise! A country where one person would donate 100M to church, if such money is used to stablish business how many people did you think would be needed to for employment? By implementation the job of 20 persons has been puckered by one person, can we move forward this way? For example: such money is used to established block industry, people would supply sand, cement, water, diesel, mould block, supply block, drive truck, just imagine how many people that are needed here. |

AllenSpencer:I hate to mock people on this site...but please, don't be silly. Why those countries are developed is simple. It was not religion or the lack of it, it was a realization that they did not have enough resources for the population. China, Japan and Taiwan are essentially resource scarce countries. As a result they had to use their brains to think out solutions....which resulted in them becoming developed countries. Therein lies the problem with Africa. Having too many resources fools one into thinking all we need to do is sell them and live well. As we can see it does not work like that. Even Saudi that looks nice at first glance has a large poor underclass. Apart from the USA, all these countries do not have significant christian populaitons . Japan has about 1-2% christians (worse than Egypt which has 10-12%, and even has a pope self)...and for long periods of its history was hostile to christians. China has about 10% christians, and the state is hostile to religion of any kind. Especially since WIn..sorry the current leader took over. Taiwan was a pagan territory of china for centuries, it's just now that there is some growth of christianity there..6.8%. |

Japan also abandoned the concept of a personal God that requires worship and praise all the time in order to grant unmerited wealth and prosperity to get to that stage. Religion does teach hardwork and to some extent making profitable decisions (as seen in Jesus' parables of the talents...which teaches both lessons for example). And those can make someone wealthy. I mean., Musk and Gates did not become rich by sitting in their rooms and saying 'Billions of dollars come to me'. It is not letting wealth be the all in all that dominates you...and is all you are...that religion teaches , not that making money is evil. In my school of thought, the pentecostal movement, which has been turned to a transactional gospel is one of the reasons why majority of Christian's are poor and why there is so much poverty in the church. Little did their followers know that the pentecostal movement is here to empower the very few of their G.O' s, his immediate family and his house boy's loyal to him and to make majority of their members poor. Japan have more industries than Churches, yet they are far Richer than Nigeria that have more Churches than industries. Many of their members are not even clean enough or presentable enough to attend the birthdays of their G.Os , the very person that manages the tithes and offerings they pay to the church. It was and still is a country that follows Shinto and Buddhisim (heck, even a Japanese who says he believes in No gods, will still head to the shrine on New Years...okay). Again the reason for their development was because they were scared of being conquered by the West. And also because...again ...they realized they did not have enough resources. 3. USA....partly true, but they also applied the lessons of the industrial revolution. That is why they were developed. In fact China considers itself an atheist or non religious nation. China got to where it is today by careful and meticulous planning, not by fasting and prayers. India on the other hand considers itself a Hindu nation with significant Muslim population. This is why they suffer some of the negative consequences of religion like we do today. |
