TUANKU:Windows are covered by the tint, if that is what you mean. Cars don't have glasses. - From an authority figure, the man is supposed to use the correct terminology. Do not tint your car windows and windscreen. - What's so hard in speaking correctly? We should start from A for Apple, B for Ball or what nonsense? |

The law says if you must tint your car You need a warrant for it But if it tinted from factory Like you bought it like that then you don’t need permit but as you all know Nigeria is a lawless country So they can do anything they like and nothing will happen |

nairalanda1:There's a medical side to tinted glasses too. Additionally, some cars have factory tinted glasses. Our police , unfortunately, is either too archaic or just dumb. The best way to fight a crime is to prevent it and not react after it has occured. Las las all dis na to extort the common man. |

uuzba:"Vehicle glass is glass used to provide light access to motor vehicles. It includes windscreens, side and rear windows, and glass panel roofs. Glass press production mould tool Vehicle glass is generally held in place by glass run channels, which also serve to contain fragments of glass if the glass breaks. Back glass is also called rear window glass, rear windshield, back shield, or rear glass. It is the piece of glass opposite the windshield. Back glass is made from tempered glass, also known as safety glass, and when broken shatters into small, round pieces.Windshields are made of laminated glass, which consists of two layers of glass, separated by a vinyl sheet. Vehicle glass may contain heating coils or antennae." Alaba-suru Einstein, you obviously are a block head.v |

| Re: You Have No Right To Tint Your Vehicle's Glasses – Police Begin Enforcement by smallsmall: 3:27am On Dec 05, 2024 |
nairalanda1:You obviously suffer from "cave mentality", in this your agreement. First, modern vehicles, almost all vehicles manufactured in the last three years, come with Tinted Windows, as standard. My Electric Hyundai came with OEM tint on all Windows, Back Windshield, except the Front Windshield which is clear. That is why you see all those New Vehicles that Govt Officials drive, are tinted right from the factory. Is the CP going to ask Nigerians to start cannibalizing their vehicles, because he does not know how to do his job? For me, it is just the brightness of the Sun, shining on me inside the Vehicle that l dont like moreover, it is not every Tom, D!ke and Hillary that is passing-by, that you want to identify you, while in your Vehicle, maybe in traffic. I tis a Privacy issue, nothing to do with Crime. Second, Some years ago, l lived in Lagos briefly, around 2014/2015. Vehicles with OEM-Tinted Windows were asked to come to Force HQ at Ikeja, to register their details, which l did. I applauded the move, at least the Police will know who owns what Vehicle with Tinted Windows, from their records. That is what should obtain, not an outright ban. I can bet that the CP owns a vehicle that has Tinted Windows. My Junior is a Senior Military Officer, and his Official vehicle is Tinted all round, let me see this CP try to force his Order on him, ![]() Now, there are those who apply some film on their vehicle, to Tint the Windows. That is another Story but banning them does not even make sense. Let them Register their Vehicle and carry a Tint-Permit, as was done in Lagos back them (and Police made a lot of Money from it ).How is it that in foreign Countries, Police does not ask them to remove their Tinted Windows, yet Kidnapping is not rife? Does that not show that our Police Officers lack the mental capacity to tackle Crime and are still doing the rudimentary things? Recently, the Police also introduced the E-CMR, because of this same Security Reasons! What next? Police will ask us to stop using AC and say 'No more Alloy Wheels", because of Security? ![]() The Police cant keep masking their incompetence, with all these obnoxious Rules. How about giving every Policeman carries a Scanner/APNR that is internet -connected and can check and display the details of every Car on the Road, within a few Seconds? That can happen if the Police have a Central Database of Vehicles, ensures that every Vehicle is registered on it and it is always online, 24/7. How about they actually spending more time fighting Crime, checking Vehicles thoroughly at their Checkpoints, than using POS to extort Money from Commercial Drivers? what about ensuring that the CCTV they install, actually works and is monitored 24/7? What exactly do these Police Brass learn, when they go on foreign Training/Courses? Do they see Police in those Countries extorting Money from the Public at every Checkpoint or Driving against Traffic? Police work should be INTELLIGENCE-LEAD, not using brute force ![]() I will continue to drive my Tinted Cars, they are factory-fitted and one passing Police brass will not change that. We head to Court, if push comes to shove. |
