But you aren’t military, right?

The point most people here are trying to make is- the army is not a private security tool to be used to settle personal score.

We have taken too many things for granted that we normalize abnormalities.

This is what people are trying to change. Military for military things not for oppression or settling personal scores.

Well, the culture of slave selling in Africa probably happened for well over 1000 years before the Portuguese and eventually the Americans showed up on African shores. Yes, it was corruption on some inhumane level but it was an industry that was accepted and thrived for probably a very long time too. Sadly, Africa didn't seem to reap much benefits from it but places like Egypt and maybe even the Ethiopian Kingdoms are said to have benefitted from it before its eventual decline.
