In thatcase govt shouldn't run a a country, because having a successful country is a business that government must run.

This is as a result of Every honourable wanting a higher institution in their community.And they are still passing bills for more schools.

And so? Will you start a school and immediately have a full house? Does that mean you will not have enough staff to run thr facility untill you have enough students? That is why you have projected running cost until you break even.

Running a country is a different ball game from running a business. In as much there are strong and independent institutions, even a zombie will successfully run govt but same can't apply to business.

Very good.

Polytechnics are useless.

HND graduates are not accepted in the whole of Europe, Asia, America, Africa, Oceania etc for Masters Degree admission.

A lot of HND graduates are stuck in Nigeria because they can't Japa through school with it.

Close the polytechnics down 👎

I don't really see anything wrong in this, except perhaps if the money spent is more than the basic. unless I am wrong, this is a new school. And there are basic infrastructure required to set up a school. You won't keep these things away because the number of students are few. Advertise it, give it some publicity (this is the first time I am hearing of the polytechnic).
For the number of lecturers? They need to be hired before the students come, not the other way round. Just audit the 'spendings' of the managers and if they are clean, leave them alone jor.

The costs/expenditures are completely within reason...what these so-called 'lawmakers' should learn is the fact that you dont just establish institutions by fiat/personal whim, you actually need to do feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments (EIA)

You see that person with first class from this institution stands higher chance of getting job or international scholarship. Do not underrate first class, it can open lots of opportunities if the holder knows how to maximise it

It just seems to me from the write up that the HoR oversite functions is just to invite the polytechnic rectors to come spill some stories and they in turn do some blame throwing a d all sorts.
These HoR and it's committees have not actually gone to the location of the institution to even see what's exactly on ground with their eyes.
This clearly is nothing more than a legislative house who don't even do the actual jobs they are supposed to do.
Sets of lame people blaming other lame sets of people.
