Traditional or satanic? It means they are all the same behind the scenes.
What can be more satanic than the two big religions aka the broad road that leads to hell?

We just love wasting scarce resources in this country. I thought Nigeria is a secular state.
If you don't know the meaning of a word, don't use it.

Different Christian denominations also worship in different ways and that's why time is allocated to different denominations at the National Christian Center. The same can be done for different traditional religions.
That's right
The difference is that most christian sects use the same settings

But traditionalists have different settings

Even among yoruba alone, Ogun can not be worshipped in sangos temple, oya and osun are not the best of friends

Ayelala, soponna are worshipped in the jungle because they are gods of disease and miserable untimely death

They all require different types of sacrifices...

This place will just be a symbol, in utility it will just be used for gathering

You get my drift?

All other gods, they are the works of men, You are the only God, there is none like you!

Is this a real thing or you’re just suggesting? Also, who’s gonna fund it?
If true the same people who funded the 2 foreign religion house of worship would do it...

As for me I would prefare to go with the traditionalist...more peaceful with no deceit and bloodshed..!!!

It's still the same as the National Christian Center and the National Mosque.

Catholics have their cathedral in Abuja. Mass is not usually said at the National Christian Center. Anglicans, Methodists, etc have their own cathedrals in Abuja.

But the National Christian Center is used for things like Independence Day, Armed Forces Remembrance Day, etc interdenominational services.

We already have the National Christian Center in Abuja and the National Mosque, also in Abuja, so this is a welcome development.
Thank you. We cannot call ourselves the Giant of Africa and not have a National Temple to honour our ancestors.

And yet proudly parade the temples of foreign invaders..

A giant tree must have roots or it will fall..

Not built by the government. People donate money to build these things.

All Christians worship in one way. In spirit and in truth.
There is only one message in Christianity, which is Christ.
Any Christian denomination that deviates from that are on their own

I’m not against this , just curious.

What if FG provided the land and churches/mosques provided funding? Are the traditionalists organized enough to undertake this?

Just asking.

That's also not true. Pilgrims pay for pilgrimage. In fact, government officials have been sacked and arrested for stealing money paid by pilgrims.

Federal Government stopped paying for pilgrimage after the end of military rule (although some states pay on behalf of their citizens)

Temple for which of the gods?
ALL OF THEM. Priests of the various deities will be there. They will be funded and supported by the FG, just as they fund and support the National Cathedral and Mosque.

There will be sections for each deity, and then a collective space or hall for general worship/festivals etc.

Because we've brought it out into the open, we can now regulate it and ensure that practices are up-to-date, clean, and majestic. Just as happened with traditional religions like Buddhism, Hinduism, Shintoism etc.

I initially thought it was mulled by the FG but these images are AI generated .

It's a great idea if it's done .

I'm not religious but I support traditional religions to have equal right with imported religions .
Did they stop them? The last time I checked thre are uncountable traditional worship centres littered everywhere in the country.

All depends on the size of the temple. It could be up to 100 deities or more represented there. It could be 200.

Chosen by Federal Character of course. So the temple won't just be filled with Ifa priests. grin

You mean you want to build a house where babalawo gives people charms to destroy one another?

No serious country allows fetish practices that give chief priests power to use evil to harm or kill people!

The typical Nigerian culture is deeply rooted in evil practices! Abeg this is not a religion; this is clearly evil!

This country should be serious and get its priorities right for once!

If they’re killing people, why is no one arresting and prosecuting them?

Well it's simply going to be symbolic

No single temple can accommodate all traditional religion

The moslems worship the same way, the christians too, but the idol worshippers differ...
Same I thought the moment I entered the thread.
Spiritual fight go plenty for there. In fact e go eventually turn physical.
grin

What you give Esu to eat is different from what sango eats. It might even be an abomination that could bring serious consequences according to their beliefs.
