This is apt confirmation of my point. This pro govt account here is blaming the Igbo for a bill that majority of Igbo support. He's also forming daft to the issues raised to avoid speaking against the north. He should highlight where i used the word "withdrawn" in the Op. He's looking to make it an Igbo vs Yoruba fight while the bill is being bullied by the north. Meanwhile on this same thread, here's a northern moniker gloating about having their god by the balls whom he's deliberately blind to.
A lot of Igbos like you want the bill to fail just the way you never wanted a Yoruba man to become the president of Nigeria.

Even if the bill is not passed, supreme court will give judgement in favor of Rivers and Lagos state. So is still a win win situation. But I have the believe the bills will be passed and Igbos like you will be put to shame once more

A Yoruba man challenged northern cabals in the APC and defeated them, now a Yoruba man is the president of Nigeria. Obi couldn't face the northern cabals in the PDP, he fled to a lesser known party.

A lot of you Igbos like the OP want the bill to fail

The bill will eventually be passed with states keeping 60% of what they generate.
Tinupooo only bought inec with drug money. Governing a country is different from from running a drug cartel reason why he remain clueless with his mediocre Yoruba team

It's a temporary suspension

A committee was set up to interface with the AGF team from the presidency to resolve all grey areas in the bill

How, all the threads being opened here and there about how the North is not in support of the bill are by Igbos, lol 😂. When will you stop being the slaves of Hausa, Fulanis? 😂😂😂😂😂

If Igbos are in support of the bill, what we should be reading on social media by Igbos should not be the likes of a thread to jubilate like this, praising your Fulanis, Hausa masters.

Only you Igbos are creating threads up and down nairaland talking about how the north will kill the bill... You bitter souls will eventually be put to ashame as usual. This is how you guys were against a Yoruba man ruling Nigeria

Does this one have any sense at all?.. Is this the first time a bill would be suspended for further consultations?. If the bill was withdrawn, I would have agreed with you but you're so dull to understand that a committee has been set up to meet with the AGF to work around the bill. So, why are you in hurry to gloat and embarrass your family online.
Na mumu go kill am I swear cheesy or maybe na northern paid propagandist grin

Jagaban/Akpabio, the master strategists did not withdraw the bill,
😁, he directed AGF to work with NASS to address contentious areas in the bill. Senate then set up a committee to meet with the AGF to address the grey areas. Most of the members of the committee are Jagaban's boys. Meanwhile, Jagaban is still in South Africa while his boys in Aso rock are running things, When he comes back, every issues will be case closed. Opposition will have their say and Jagaban will have his way. 😁✌️

Of course it passed second reading and this is another progress being made. It's the same negotiation, deliberations, suggestions until their is a final agreement by respective parties.

What the North is complaining about is, how the sharing formular based on consumption is going to affect them being a region that is poverty ridden. Because unless you are economically buoyant, will you have the financial power to be able to consume. They just want to be carried along despite their unwillingness to be productive. It is not different for the Quota system that you all cry about everyday which a student in the South scores 80% while another scores 20% but because he comes from the north a presumable backward region in western education, he should be given admission into the federal institutions while the guy with 80% will likely end up not getting admission. Instead of investing in western education while gain admission based on merit. They are always looking for an easy way out to the detriment of the country.

That's why I said your jubilation is just awkward.
Truckload of trash
What was the demand of the north from the onset of the bill
What is the present status of the bill vi's a vi's that demand

Clown. I've seen a lot of ignorant folks like you harping on supreme court without realising that the case was silently withdrawn
And it is a testament to your lilliputian state of mind that anyone who says something you disagree with is Igbo. Most Igbos even support the bill dummy

You are the one who actually have no sense but unfortunately for you, you don't know that. The suspension of the bill for further consultation is already a victory for the north. Anyway, you were naturally designed to defend nonsense. Enjoy your stupidity
You think say suspension of the bill be real?😁 Na just politics, my Niggah cheesy Dem dey use am to settle scores. Dem know say the bill go pass, but dem want to make it look like dem dey listen to the people. Dem dey play game.

Dem dey use suspension to pacify the opposition, to make dem think say dem dey win. But in reality, dem no dey win anything. Dem just dey delay the inevitable. The bill go still pass, and dem no fit do anything to stop am.! 😎✌️

This ethnic profiling is your greatest undoing. Someone create a thread and you ethnically pigeonhole him accordingly. As I stated earlier, focus on those who are against Tinubu's tax bill and leave the Igbos out. Ohanaeze Ndigbo has endorsed the tax bill. Isn't that enough.

From all indications, deliberations on the proposed tax bills have been suspended by both Houses of NASS.

The north quickly reached a consensus and gathered round it to ensure that their voice was the loudest and their interest most paramount. They started with the economic inequality they suspected in the bill and threw a sucker punch no one saw coming by introducing religion to the mix at the critical hour. They claimed the inheritance law aspect of the bill was against Islam.

Unfortunately, it seemed our southern Muslims are not really grounded in Islamic knowledge or maybe just subservient because I have not heard any rebuttal to that allegation that the bill is anti-Islam. Where is MURIC?! You know when such thing is raised, even Northerners that are for the bill like Dogara who is even a christian will quickly backtrack before a fatwa is issued against him.

While the Northern Governors Forum and the Northern Senators Forum and other Northern groups were releasing statements upon statements to vent their angst with the bill, their southern counterparts were as silent as night. Meanwhile majority of southerners felt a form of equity they've longed for was in the bill.

This shows the fundamental difference between southern politicians and their Northern counterparts. Southern politicians are basically selfish and self- serving and after their own interests. There's no regional interest in their thinking. In 2022, when it seemed from Buhari's body language that he wanted the presidency retained in the north, the southern governors hurriedly reignited the southern governors Forum. Recently when there were subtle threats of impeachment against Akpabio, Southern Senators Forum was formed hurriedly as well. Where are both organs today in a matter majority of southerners across ethnic and political divide seem to agree?

That is the fundamental reason the north will always have the upper hand in the conundrum called Nigeria. They have identified what binds them and they are not shy to hold on to it. They were not shy to defend their poverty and "unproductiveness". I remember a similar case occurred with the PIB. The Niger Delta wanted 10% for the host communities and 3% for inland oil exploration which basically happens in the north. We all saw Northern figures like the Sultan and others making moves and by the time the bill was signed, it was 10% for the oil exploration and 3% for host communities. There was no southern Senators Forum to raise hell then. In fact, the claim then was that it was because the north was heading all the arms of government.

But what of today, the South is heading all the arms of government yet we can't get ordinary tax bill passed. So how will the south achieve the so-called resource control, state police, fiscal federalism and regionalism which are even more knotty issues. Akpabio, Wike etc etc are suddenly silent. They can't take on the north. Southerners are grumbling and threatening on social media while the north walked their talk and spoke with one voice from the ordinary man to their biggest elites in government!

It's time southerners realise they are their biggest problem in Nigeria. There's no group interest. One rabble rouser on social media who is also from the south was even subtly looking to throw blame on a major southern ethnic group in order not to offend the north. Talk of being a proverbial house nigger. That's the apt description of most southern politicians and political entities.
Please can you enlighten me as to what relationship does inheritance law and Islam has to do with the reform tax bill because this is the first place I'm reading its because of the inheritance law that the bill is somewhat suspended......?

The whole thing started last week Friday in their jumaat prayers when they started preaching against the bill. I think it's part of what Pantami raised. It has entered mainstream conversations about the bill now and unfortunately, Southern Muslims are not saying anything.
And you think the bill will pass?
