This guy is talking too much and is already saying nonsense. Fix the economy and eliminate corruption, everyone will be fine. Selective wage increment will not solve any problem. I am sure he wasn't being paid #3M per month (Net) as a partner before he left PwC. This is a position that requires you to work round the clock and bring businesses. Funny enough you will not be there beyond 60 yrs. And unfortunately, this man is saying we should be paying #5m monthly to people that would be in the position till 70 years and more than 80 percent of them are practically not doing anything beyond 55 years of age, and you want them to continue to collect such huge amount till 70 years in a country where more than 70 percentage of the population are youth. Fix Nigerian economy and eliminate corruption!!! |

Rather, no Nigerian lecturer should be paid less than $350 at the Lowest level. The highest level should be on $1500 monthly. Then the old order must also be banished. Students are not students in a learning environment. Very few Institutions can boast of conducive campus hostels for 30% of the students populace. It's all Off Campus Accommodations designed to also rip off students. Sparse land wasting away because unis can't build students hostels/they're an after-thought. The dictator-zombie relationship between students and lecturers must become past tense. Then the system can dream of flourishing, esp with updated and digital hubs not these manual ones |

Yes soooo. What tax reform chairman said here is very true and fg should work on it. Our lecturers should be heavily paid. |

when some politicians who did not even have more than school cert or Diploma are earning FAT emoluments and allowances between the range of #30million to #40million every month without sweating and seating comfortably inside Air-condition these lecturers with MASTERS, DOCTORS & PROFESSORS degrees are being paid peanuts that is not enough to feed the dogs of the politicians in a month why? on the other hand the civil servants are being paid #70,000 only in a month...which is not up to half of the amount for the purchase of one shoe for the politician you can see that there are many injustice ravaging this nation called 9ja |

![]() In as much as I appreciate that their money should be upgraded, 5m is too much, untop outdated books they use to teach student.. You can hardly use your certificate gotten I Nigeria to work abroad, except you do a top up course abroad to cover the certificate, before you can be employed, because they know your lecturers don't teach with the present day technology and books |

This man is only trying to justify the move by this govt to increase VAT from 7.5% to 15%. With the bogus fuel subsidy removal savings FG only increased minimum wage to a paltry 70k per month. Trust these liars at your own peril |

I know a lecturer in Nigeria who earns $5,500 per month working remotely as an Adjunct/Visiting Professor for American and European Universities from the comfort of his home here in Nigeria. That's N9,000,000 per month, yet Naija professors are begging for 500k per month. LOL. |

RevFrNoah:We'll it's a pity. I did a masters Degree in the UK. One white student was a professional worker in industry. But he never had degree before. He used to correct our British professor, that such and such is old method. Industry was already using another new method. So in summary, even the British masters professor was behind current British industry standards. What more do you expect from Nigeria that doesn't even have any functioning industries? Nigerian lecturers/professors will just teach olden days minimum to collect their salary. YOU, go and find your own work and get your own salary. They don't give a fxxx about anybody. |

lexy2014:If they do it, what will happen? Yesterday we read story of best law student getting N13,000 prize money. Education is not respected here in Africa, simple. So many educational ideas go against African traditions. Women, wear trouser and talk? Talk less of other common sense scientific ideas or constructions. Thats why we NEVER appoint properly educated people to politics. Only the ones with FAKE FORGED certificate. |

lexy2014:Firstly politicians are well paid. Secondly they steal more to the bogus pay so it's all rosy for them. That's why they spend a lot on campaigns cos they are assured of recouping the expenses in multiple folds. |

So who will implement this? You're in govt sir. Do it if that solves the problem, afterall tuition fee has increased exponentially. |
