If they were in the Rivers state House of assembly, by now the governor would have declared their seats vacant and stopped their salaries. The laws in Rivers state are different from the laws in Abuja
dont you know the difference between house of representatives and house of assembly?

was it fubara who declared the seats of the river state legislators vacant?

I have repeated it many times Obi will get less votes in 2027 than he got in 2023. Most of his staunch allies have deserted him. Okupe, Okonkwo, etc. now hos elected members are abandoning him. They are seeing what we always knew about Obi. It seems the only people who can’t see are the non Ibo supporters who got sold a bridge in London! For the Ibo supporters it was never about capacity or character or competence (all of which Obi lacks) it was and is about Ibo presidency.

From the side of law their seats are vacant but on political favourism which favour the ruling party the speaker will make it slide

Unfortunately, it’s not going to happen.
We had our chance in 2023 and ruined it.
PDP was supposed to take over after the failed 8years of Buhari but we destroyed it with our stupid fantasies.
Tinubu will complete his 8years.
PDP messed up.

First they refused to guarantee an Igbo presidency, which kicked off the train of problems that led to Obi going to LP. That meant the loss of a large portion of southern and middle belt votes that hurt PDP badly.

Second they brought back Atiku. It's not like the guy was even that popular. Party split widens.

Third, they refused to offer an olive branch to Obi while there was still time...same mistake that was made in 2013 with nPDP.

Fourth, they let Kwankwaso go. That lost them 1.5m votes that could have forced a runoff which could have guaranteed a PDP victory.

Fifth, they had no answer to the issues at the state level in many states.

And now, there is the Rivers issue

Anyway, that's how we do politics in this country. When PDP was in charge, the oppostion too was a mess, until they woke up and people started to make sacrifices. I don't know if people are ready to make sacrifices to get APC Out in 2027, when all we see is a divided oppositon.

Love or hate Buhari and Tinubu, in 2013, they both woke up and stopped playing lone ranger. That is how we got APC In 2015, while PDP was busy re-fighting the Nigerian civil war over presidency with TAN members on one side, and nPDP members (some of whom were Buhari symphatisers) on the other side.

The Constitution is clear about this , they can defect if the party whose flag they use to be voted into office is on crisis .
Labour Party is in crisis at both the National and some state chapters so theirseats been declared vacant is an exercise in futility .
But for pride and assemblage of vultures , PDP is the only party in Nigeria that has a National spread and could have been Nigeria saviour.
This is what haters of Wike will say.
Is Labour party really in crisis even after all the court pronouncement and judgment?

Those seats should be declared vacant.
Where exactly is Honorable Ikenga Ugochinyere, let him come and declare them vacant.

Absolute peace in the Labour Party indeed so tey the one Governor don elect LG chairmen through another party.

Division within the party makes it allowable under the constitution.

Very foolish set of people. Top to bottom dunn lule. Igbos Obidients champion the nzogbu nzogbu politics, they normally played to their other Obidients. More will still decamp cos they were opportunist. That Epe guy with Tinubu symbolic cap logo will join soon. Actually they labour in vain. Hard earn money spent unwisely. Most of the decampees don't care of re election cos from nothing, they are now super rich forever. Wetin consign okada man wey no get one million naira for aza and now with over 500m in it with election that is not sure of again. That Iyawe was another lucky guy cos I was with him on Sunday evening when he was declared winner, he came for house opening of my friend who also happened to be his friend and he was supported by the guy too. He was just making ambiguous promises and I knew he was lieing. He said he will construct the road on the street of our friend and up till now, nothing is been done. Obidients with thier daftness just voted foolishly. They all gain why Obi lost out. Banky w would have been a better representative but Obidients just voted for who they don't even know and his character.

Not surprised they finally decamped. Na illiterates wey just dey vote from top to bottom. Even Peter Obi that they took advantage of his tsunami campaign didn't later get the Presidential seat. I doubt they will lose their seats bcoz crises rocks Labour Party.
Peter Obi is not handling the political might that the masses gave him well. He couldn't even put the party in order. Let's hope Peter Obi can install a governor in Anambra in the forthcoming election, only then can we take him serious.

No difference between them and the extraordinaire serial party defector Obingo (APGA-PDP-LP)
They'll likely brand those who defect as traitors, while simultaneously praising Obingo as a hero, revealing their apparent double standard.
Re: ‘A Hall Of Shame’ – Labour Party Reacts To Lawmakers’ Defection To APC by hotseat: 4:17pm On Dec 05, 2024
"Defection" is second nature to almost all Nigerian politrickcians.

It's in their DNA.

This should hardly be a surprise to any political analyst/observer.

This is premised on the fact that all political parties in Nigeria lack clear-cut ideology.

The primary motivation of going into politics is simply to seek/grab power for pecuniary gains with the popular belief that "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em".

The Labour Party (LP) politrickcians have just proven to type.

They aren't any different after all!

Trust any politrickcian at your own peril!

Which governor, Soludo will disgrace him like he did last time when Obi supported that Pdp Valentine Ozigbo. Anambarians knows he disappointed Ojukwu for joining pdp. They only supported him for president like other igbos cos of desperation to have an Igbo president at all cost. So most of them that have criticize him in the past, have no choice to support him.

We are not worried about Tinubu because Tinubu himself is not worried about 2027. Do the reforms he is undertaking look like that of a man who cares about 2027?

Bold leaders do the right thing, they don’t worry about reelection. Leaders working for the next generation don’t concern themselves with the present because the present will always resist the necessary changes.

If he contests and he loses, he comes back to Bourdullon as an ex president who has done more to restructure the country for the better than all the presidents and heads of states since 1966. Obi will never. Have the honour of being called a president talk less an ex-president.

I however give you one sure thing. If he does contest and he loses, it won’t be to Obi.

You see that GCFR? It is only for presidents and heads of state.

We should have a system whereby defectors automatically lose their seats without anyone needing to go to court. This is really not healthy for our democracy at all

Take it or leave it, Peter Obi now has the political influence to install a Governor in his home state. Soludo knew what he was doing when he was demarketing Obi during the Presidential Campaigns. Peter Obi just need to employ the service of political gladiators in Anambra who share in his vision. Openly campaign for the candidate like Kwakwanso did in Kano. He needs to show the Obidients that he is now up to the task. He shouldn't be expecting sympathy votes that he got in the last Presidential Election. This time, he will have to work for it.
