It's the second to the last paragraph of that press release for me . The spokesman accused them of " jumpocracy " . So , if we are to follow the spokesman's assertions , the number one political aspirant of Ellupee has been practicing " hop , skip " me first politics since his days at APGA ? Truly , A$#awo dey change location wan claim virgin join . The defectors only copied their principal .

I have repeated it many times Obi will get less votes in 2027 than he got in 2023. Most of his staunch allies have deserted him. Okupe, Okonkwo, etc. now hos elected members are abandoning him. They are seeing what we always knew about Obi. It seems the only people who can’t see are the non Ibo supporters who got sold a bridge in London! For the Ibo supporters it was never about capacity or character or competence (all of which Obi lacks) it was and is about Ibo presidency.
Soludo, as likely Igbo President, is sellable than Obi. The combative nature of the obidients has diminished his chance nationwide.

It shows that they relied on Peter Obi to get elected, but with hidden motive. APC will still win come 2027.

Apc will still lose come 2027

.

I have said it many times, the longer it takes for the Ibos put their weight behind an electable ibo leader the longer it will take for them to realize their ambition of an Ibo president. Obi is unelectable!

I have the example of Awo, Awo was unelectable despite his brilliance. You cannot become president of Nigeria if you are unsellable outside your tribe….you are just a regional champion.

I like Soludo but he is in the wrong party and you just don’t decamp to a party and get the presidential ticket ahead of those who Laboured through thick and thin. 2 other Ibos that are electable are Umahi and Chidoka. However, Chidoka just resigned from politics.

Tinubu with a second term installing Umahi as VP is IMHO the ibo’s best path to the presidency. But in their shortsightedness they will insult you and say it’s a ploy to get Tinubu a second term. Like I have said before the Tinubu we are seeing is not moving like a man who cares if you vote for him in 2027 or not. Or they will reject him because he is from Ebonyi.

IMHO from my reading of the current political climate, the only person who has what it takes to actualize an Ibo presidency is Tinubu. The North will not but the ibos see him as their enemy. They don’t realize in politics, sometimes it is in the interest of your enemy to help you just like ElRufai helped Tinubu. Any sensible ibo man should see what is happening with the tax bill, only Tinubu can galvanize the rest of the country including the middle belt despite the opposition of the North and not bend. if Tinubu says ibo will be VP or president, ibo will be VP or president, nobody else on the scene right now can do it. Obasanjo failed,At8ku failed. Unfortunately the next slot is 2039 by which time Tinubu may be to old to wield the powers he has now but he will be able to do half the job by puting an Ibo man in Aso rock as VP.

We are not worried about Tinubu because Tinubu himself is not worried about 2027. Do the reforms he is undertaking look like that of a man who cares about 2027?

Bold leaders do the right thing, they don’t worry about reelection. Leaders working for the next generation don’t concern themselves with the present because the present will always resist the necessary changes.

If he contests and he loses, he comes back to Bourdullon as an ex president who has done more to restructure the country for the better than all the presidents and heads of states since 1966. Obi will never. Have the honour of being called a president talk less an ex-president.

I however give you one sure thing. If he does contest and he loses, it won’t be to Obi.

You see that GCFR? It is only for presidents and heads of state.

the problem of Nigerians are the people. From the comments I have read here, may God help us. Rivers state govt is fighting against political prostitution which is clearly stated in the constitution and many are supporting Sim Fubara's action. The same political brouhaha has been meted on LP, instead of the masses to kick and fight this ugly trend which is purely anti people, it being used as a caricature against Obi who is not even a founder of LP. Nigeria is irredeemable

If they were in the Rivers state House of assembly, by now the governor would have declared their seats vacant and stopped their salaries. The laws in Rivers state are different from the laws in Abuja
M*m*. Na your type dey open mouth wahhh. Ignorance is not an excuse before the court of law. LP has a problem in the party, so these ones have a reason to move and it's backed by law.

Is it not amazing that when issues or topics like this comes up, people would rather go into aimless banter and vexatious responses to score a cheap point over political parties /leanings and affiliations that don’t care if you exist or not.
Instead of deep diving and be sober about the kind of people we voted and their apparent lack of ideologies and their nonchalant attitude towards defections and decamping. Verily we deserve what our political class is dishing out to us on a daily because we have all chosen to be divided along political / tribal and religious lines. Yet we all go to the same market and buy at the same price.

One thing you can't stop is politicians following their interests. People move to parties where they can further their interests. From Atiku to Obi to Dino to Buhari and BAT. It's all about interests. Ironically, Wike for all his shortcomings, seems to be the only one that has remained steadfast in one party

Lawmakers or lawbreakers? Laws need to be strengthened. No lawmaker should be allowed to defect until the next election cycle, and anyone who defects should immediately lose their seat in the house. This rule should be unequivocal, and no court should entertain cases from defectors challenging their removal.

But then again, I might just be dreaming...
They defected to the ruling party

...they said 2027 election is between APC and nigerians..APC vs nigerians..it's not PDP or labour party leaders and politcians suffering the hunger, hardship, inflation, high costs of living... Atiku, Peter obi and their politicians in the party already have money they are rich..so they are not suffering the hunger and hardship..it's nigerians that are suffering and complaining about hunger, hardship, inflation, high costs of living..so it's APC vs nigerians in 2027 election..so it's for Nigerians to decide their fate, destiny in 2027 election if they still want to continue with the hunger, hardship or not?
