Except she has cancelled on you in the past, this does not make any sense.

You were wrong and should have apologised.
My second ride today passenger cancelled after informing her that I'm on my way.
She said she was running late and cancelled. This was a less than 600m pick up distance

Even if she ordered another ride, will he fly there.
I'm not sorry pls.

Okay
That's bygone but I'm still not sorry

I have driven 5mins before within surulere to pick a lady, she canceled the moment I arriv3d at her place.

The luck she had was that it was online call I couldnt reach out to her again. I'm still hurt and will do that again if I get a better ride while they delaying to come out in time.

If it was bolt, I know I will get paid for being delayed but why will you order on indrive and keep me waiting for almost 10mins. Like I'm her personal driver.
So, may we continue in sin that grace may abound? It is a dog eat dog world out here, I think one just have to define his standard and know what his conscience can take. It goes both ways, I always tell riders to cancel immediately if they don’t want to embark on the trip and drivers should do same. That way, no one waste time or resources.

Without sounding too holy, I may want to overlook you picking another trips as you saw juicy offer, but justification of taking out one action on another doesn’t come off well. Peace! Nobody holy pass. Pray each day makes us a better person.

Was she wrong to have cancelled?

Yes
Because I already called to inform her that I was on my way as protocol demands and I even told her current location and how near I was to her.

What eased me was that indrive didn't deduct their commission, or else I for too angry

Same applies to what you did to the other lady.

But I still feel bittered and need to heal first

The other day at community rd off St Finbars. We all know how bad the road is. Only for this guy to cancel the trip while I was near. I called, he apologised and said there's something he needed to do yet I was hurt.

Well, I heard you all.
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Pearl1910:
Lolz... I don't owe a Rider an apology if I drive all the way to pick up point, and still wait for additional 5mins and u aren't ready. I can cancel without further communication. Infact u should apologize for keeping me waiting even if I am d one that eventually gets tired of waiting and cancel. The reason for my cancellation is immaterial and inconsequential, whether I get a better trip on another app or I have a change of mind.
Sometimes I cancel, and wait for another trip just so the Rider will learn not to keep drivers waiting.
Riders should be ready to leave before requesting a trip not request before getting in the shower or while still dressing up. Same way Drivers should be in the car and ready to drive before accepting a trip, not still brushing their teeth or queueing to buy fuel grin
If I am taking 10mins to arrive at pickup when it was supposed to be 5mins, I will be feeling bad for the Rider and will not be upset if they cancel because I am running late.

If Rider were standing outside when I arrived, and for some reasons not from Rider, I don't want to go on the trip again then I will apologize.

In addition anybody that requests a trip and doesn't cancel within 1min of making that request should apologize to the driver, especially if the driver has started driving towards the Rider. Also, if a driver has been promising Rider that he is coming for them but eventually has a change of mind, and needs to cancel, then he should call and apologize to the Rider for having wasted their time.

We all feel bitter when things like this happen. Can’t tell the number of riders I have cursed because of this. I am learning to develop thick skin over riders cancel while driving to pick up.

I have done crazy sh*t and still remember the day I told four riders I ain’t going again. Got this trip from GRA to Ilupeju 3400 and I was a minute away. Rushed to pick up as I check google, I saw like 45 mins to destination. On 3400 ke and thy were already entering the car. All these madam and her workers. The vibes just wasn’t down with me and I don’t feel comfortable doing 45 mins for 3400. I told them straight my car is faulty and the woman asked what happened? Told her overheating, apologized about just observing it. This woman no gree, she have a car and can tell when a car is overheating by looking at the meter. Ha! Madam e b like you go come collect steering for my hand. I say my masquerade no dance again. Las las they alight. Not justifying anything, but I just don’t feel we should generalize any act in this hustle.

I have noticed that the reason why in a day I will find it hard on indrive to hit 100k plus in a day is because of the unnecessary delay indrive passengers dey delay person 10mins here 15mins there by the time you sum it up you've wasted a whole lot of time waiting for passengers to come out which rarely happen on bolt....plus even if it happened on bolt you know you are been paid for kt
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Gentlelife50(m): 5:47pm On Dec 04, 2024
That's why I don't count any trip until completed, some riders can cancel and even block you.
Very annoying because you have wasted furl and time plus the stress to get their, but there are still good and sane ones out there.
A woman sent me 2k some time ago, she decided to ride with the neighbor and I have arrived at pick up already.
A lady sent me 5 hundred naira as a token for making me come to her pick up point and met her entering a random guy's car, sometimes I text a Rider especially on indriver to explain how I will be the one to pay for their cancelation because indriver will charge ther commissions.
Some will drop something but if they don't I will move on after I will make up for the loss one way or the other, the best thing is to not count any trip as sire banker until it's completed so I won't feel to hurt or disappointed if it didn't work.

Hello house, what’s the update on tinted cars?… I don’t have a permit but I’ve been using tinted for the past 2 months within ogun and lagos with no single issues from law enforcement. The news just got out yesterday from Fct for all vehicles to stop using tinted glasses.. will it affect other states ? Or has anyone been harassed by the police yet ?

It shouldn't but trust our policemen, they will want to try their luck.

I have taken a screenshot of this part. As long as you have medical exemption, you should be fine.

It will be my get out of jail card when I come across them.

In addition to what Doris4ever said, no road side parking's pls, only use approved parkings. When you take riders to the airport, just drop off, don't pick riders anywhere around or within the airport, not even airport road except airport park where you will be charged per hour. Always look up for one way routes especially yaba. Don't outsmart vehicles while traffic is moving gradually, you might be held for illegal change of lane.
Hotspots for pick ups on mainland. Ikeja City Mall and environs, Unilag, Yaba, Shomolu, Ojodu berger, Magodo, shangisha, ketu ikosi, Simbiat Abiola way. Let me add Festac and alimosho sha
Don't park anywhere around Governors office, mind the do not turn signage there too. When you get an order from there, let the security guys know somewhere order you from inside.

Avoid orders going towards Ikorodu, Magboro, Ibafo, Ilupeju, Gbagada express. You might not be lucky to get anoder rider from those locations back to metropolis, hence waste of fuel. Avoid any Otta destination no matter how juicy the offer lol.

If police ask if you are a uber, pls identify yourself as I driver. It saves lives. They understand from that perspective that you are an hustler.
If being held by police men and you were faulty, plead all you can but if not accepted, negotiations shouldnt be more than 5k
Lastma, negotiations 20k
CBD negotiations 10k when taken to their office 15k
VIO less than 10k but pray make you no jam dem. They can stop you for a document you have and ticket you for another irrelevant document you shouldn't have. All to extort.

Learn to use the Google map.
Always use the express way.
Avoid Mobalaji Bank Anthony way in the late evening.

All the best.
Very salient tips even for a non-Uber driver. I appreciate.

Abeg, can you shed more light on the emboldened? What is the fine for it? I was caught for it when I started driving in Lagos newly, a few years back. Those taskforce extorted almost 50k from me for it. What could I have done differently? It happened around Oshodi - just on the exit from Oshodi into Agege Road, facing Mushin

My brothers, the addiction to sports betting has destroyed me beyond imagination. I am completely lost as it has ruined my relationship with family and friends. I am reaching out for you guys to please come to my rescue and help me. I genuinely and desperately need your help as I have no one to run to. I cannot even string my words together. I am also deeply battling suicidal thoughts.

I have chosen to come out just so I can get help. I have only 5hours of time at a cyber cafe to my name. Please help me, please

Step 1: identifying the problem

Step 2: tackling it
- first reach out to the bet company and ask them to close your betting account.
- you must have a friend who u confide in and doesn’t play the bet, you should always open up to him or her when the urge comes
- get busy, very busy
- disable every payment method u use to load into the bet account
- don’t ask for money from people to settle any debt you incurred, work to pay it, if people bail you out, there is high chances you will relapse and get comfortable and return back to your old ways.
- pray about it as well.

I will add more at close of work.. A very close friend faced this and now doing much better… suicide is not the solution at all..
Thank you, suicide is not an option at all...the thoughts just come, but I shove it aside.

My brother, right now, I am going through mental issues, induced by betting. I have not a dime to my name, I am somewhere in Accra and I desire to come back home, make necessary amendments and be united with my family.

I have come to realize that the worse kind of disease that can happen to any man is the mental one, as it is a bit difficult to get help. I pray God sends me help

This administration has caused alot of damages to many businesses

Jos loading for a 30tonnages goods which freight cost used to be btw 1.7 and 2.1million 3mnths ago Is now 2.8 to 3million. If you want to plead for a rate reduction, owner will quote cost of a tyre for you. Which is btw 300k to 500k depending on the size.

Onitsha that used to be 1mill to 1.1mill is now 1.3 to 1.5 million.

It's not like diesels price per ltr increased. It's just because of how last and present administration is ruling this country .

When I'm using 3million to move a 60million worth of goods. After purchase, shipping and custom clearance and tax. What will now be the company profit?? A bad business I think. Nigeria companies are just thriving, more will fold up soon if things continues like this.

I don't know how best to explain but abruptly changing of lane makes you an High risk driver and could cause accident due to how sharp it was and the vehicle coming behind you on the other lane might not see your traffication light in time because he would be too near to notice your change of lane.
Also, mind the right or left exit turning signs on the road. Once you are on a right turning lane but then remember you were suppose to head straight and not turn sideways. Just maintain that right turning lane that you are and find another turning point upfront. If you leave the line to merge onto the upward lane. You've committed a traffic offence which made you put road users like you at risk.

A vehicle coming at a minimum speed on his lane might collide with you if you make that turning. Nor a vehicle by your side wanting to also make a right Turning too might collide with you because he didn't know you had a change of mind to keep going straight.

All is just to ensure safety of all road users.
