Why acid?

How are the family?
I feel more confident when I know the fish is properly cooked. I hate seeing cooked fish come out of the pot looking raw. So, most of the time, I just prefer frying it. I know it's fear though 😄

We’re all doing fine, my sister. We are at a phase where I am gradually starting to keep breakables out of reach. 😄

How have you been, sis?

This thing is preference, I don't know why you guys are fighting.

Some people would tell you that they like their meat/fish fried and not mixed with the soup.

Do you and leave others alone. It's a free world.

Una brain dey shake Fish that takes less than 15 mins to be properly done is what you are saying it has worms, larvae bla, bla, bla from what I was taught in Agric and Biology their was never anywhere I saw that Fish contains worms when it ain't water snails that can harbors liver flukes?only maybe some kind of Fishes that lives in the Oceans or Seas like Dead or Black Sea which might have been contaminated with poisoning like mecury or any other industrial effluents and those still don't harbor worms.

Although I don't like Fresh Fish in my Egusi Soup I don't even like it at all except I want to add to my Fried stew, better still just opt for smoked or dried Fish to avoid precooked undercooked stress and it will even taste better!!
God bless you.

They should just they don't like it and go their way.

If na oyinbo cook like this, dem go dey hail am.

I personally don't like this method but as long as your food is delicious, I go chop. I don't care the method.

We still dey form elitism untop how to cook.

Who would add fresh fish to soup without first seasoning and partially cooking it? The properly cooked fish not only tastes sweeter and better but also reduces the strong odor associated with fresh fish.

If I were to visit your home and witness you adding uncooked, fresh fish directly to your soup, I would immediately infer that you lack culinary expertise and possibly maintain questionable hygiene standards and would never eat that rubbish.
This English too much because of soup now grin

As someone that enjoys when English is well written or spoken, your grammatical construction above is well cooked unlike the fresh fish he cooked with the soup without initial seasoning and pre-cooking.

A single road doesn't lead to market.that you preferred that way of cooking doesn't mean that cooking it (after properly rinsed) with soup is bad.

I even fry the fish first before I use it for anything. I absolutely detest the smell of fish. In fact I can't possibly emphasize how much I hate that smell

If you take pepper soup outdoors, nobody cooks the fish twice. Most if not all restaurants do the same thing.
Well I don't drink beer, why would I eat pepper soup outside, I see what people call pepper soup, it looks like water and some scent leaves.

Will the soup not season the fish?

How does cooking raw fish inside soup indicate a lack of culinary expertise?

So long as it's properly cooked, whether in the sauce or water it's good to go. I think this method will be better sef cos it won't have to be overcooked. It's fish and not meat so it doesn't scatter all over the soup. Wash properly with salt or white vinegar and allow to cook in the almost done soup for about 20/25 minutes and ur good 😊

Majority of people say the fish is supposed to be precooked before adding it to your soup.
What difference does it make? The fish will eventually absorb the ingredients from the soup, still, making it taste great, too.
What do you think, guys?
Does cooking it this way speak to culinary incompetency
You are flirting with salmonella grin

Not really the best way cos it might taste bland inside. If you spice it overnight then this is okay.

Fish do not take long to cook, plus, they break (pieces) easily.
Mere steam can even cook a fish.

As long as they've been washed, salted, and allowed to drain out, they can be added directly to already boiling, seasoned soup/stew.
