I'm still wondering why James Gunn started the DCU with Creature Commandos

Don't get me wrong. I like the show.
It's not great or spectacular but it's entertaining.

But James Gunn could have just started with Superman and released CC after that

What's so special about Creature Commandos that you had to begin a new DCU with it

The MCU started with Iron Man
DCEU started with Man of Steel

DCU is starting with Creature Commandos while a Superman movie is scheduled to release in less than 7 months

Why?

I think Gunn already wrote Creature Commandos before he was handed the reigns to DC, and if you observe carefully you would realize that it's a direct sequel to Peacemaker Season 1, meanwhile he was still working on his Superman script and probably wasn't sure it would be green lit due to the state of DCEU then.

He probably had to adjust his Superman script after being appointed DC head and Creature Commandos being a direct sequel to Peacemaker Season 1 moved straight to production since the script was already done

I feel he's using it as a litmus test to test the audience if his DCU will fly. Unfortunately it might do more harm than good cause the gruesome nature of Creature Commandos will definitely hamper the kind of universe we have heard from many Gunn loyalists that have said Corenswet Superman is paying more homage to Christopher Reeve Superman than any other version...

I'm still waiting for our Gunn heavy loyalist here to start giving us the HBOMAX numbers per minutes views or the almighty Gunn DCU is not breaking the internet again

The first two episodes have not shown anything unique that we're in for a treat.. It's just Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v of his previous movies, mostly his Suicide Squad. Nothing special about it.. Oga won use one format dey cashout steady..

This is basically Suicide Squad with monsters and we've seen two Suicide Squad movies already. No one is jumping on their feet for another Suicide Squad adaptation.

Monsters or humans, it's still the same thing.

He favours his own style and he wants to do what he loves to do instead of what the general audience might want to see.

Creature Commandos, Peacemaker S2 and anything connected to the old DCEU should not exist at all. The DCU should have been a hard and complete reboot.

But Gunn is not a businessman and he's biased. Can't get rid of his sentimental attachments to his DCEU projects.

The guy is just too sentimental on going about his things... Him and his fans keep dissing DCEU projects but he still want to take out some part of it to make it canon to his DCU just because he was the director of the part he intends to make canon... Another thing again is he talks too much...
I have said it before and I will say it again: this Superman movie will humble him. He will will now know how difficult it is to make a well good and pleasing Superman movie to the whole general audience.

Show us the minutes views (if it's impressive) not one mumu rankings when we all know there are no new projects from HBO MAX
With the way you and your lord keep talking like his project is the second coming of Christ we won't think Dune series will be taking the top spot..
