There's a nameless estate exactly like this in Niger State, just tinted vehicles coming in the mornings and returning foreign workers in the evenings and price of garri didn't change. Nigerians are so dramatic over inconsequential things

And so? Have you not seen Islamiyya schools in Nigeria that admit only Muslims or Deeper Life schools that admit only church adherents? Parochial schools exist everywhere. They are Hindus with their beliefs.

Most of them can't even pay the school fees in those so called average Nigerian schools...mumu country filled with mumu people

A non-issue, is it by force to attend the school when there are thousands of options across Nigeria. If dem insists her child speak Hindu or burn incense as it is cultural to them, she will accuse the school of initiating her child into a cult!

The school has been be running since the early 1980s and they exclusively teach their students using Indian curriculum to prepare them for university education in India and other foreign countries, why want a Nigerian kid attend it?

It is all a question of law, and I am glad the Lagos state Ministry of Education commenced investigations in April of this year.

If it turns out that the school's admission policy contravenes our laws, action has to be taken. Simple, simplicita.

Admission Policy

Completion of Admission form in all respect
Submission of Transfer or other certificates
Student being eligible in all respects, Payment of Registration due, deposit, other dues and annual ICA Membership charge
The decision of the Principal regarding admission is final
Admission offered and not accepted within the time stipulated will be cancelled
Following documents in original & a photocopy are to be submitted along with the Admission Form
1) Birth Certificate
2) Passport
3) Two-passport size photographs
4) School Leaving Certificate of previous school, duly countersigned by the Education Officer
5) Annual Report Card of the last class completed
6) Migration Certificate (for Gr. XI & XII)
On submission of the above documents, an admission test will be conducted.
Admissions applied for before September, the entrance exam will be based on the syllabus covered in previous class.
Admissions applied for after September, the entrance exam will be based on the portion for the half-yearly exams as given by the school.
Admission form can be collected from the school office @ N20,000.00/- during office hours from 8.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.

New pedagogical and curricular structure of school education (5+3+3+4):

3 years in Anganwadi/Balvatika/pre school and 12 years in school.

Foundational Learning Curriculum for Age group of 3-8 is divided into two parts: -

Foundational Stage 1:
From age 3-6 in ECCE. Prior to the age of 5 every child will move to a Preparatory Class or "Balvatika-1,2 &3" (i.e., Before class 1)

Foundational Stage 2:
Age 6-8. Grade 1-2

Preparation Stage:
Age 8-11, Grades 3-5. Preparatory Stage, play, discovery and activity based and interactive class room learning.

Middle Stage:
Age 11-14, Grade 6-8: Middle stage, experiential learning in the sciences, Mathematics, arts, social sciences and Humanities.

Secondary Stage:
Age 14-18 Grade 9-12 Secondary Stage, Multidisciplinary study, greater critical thinking, flexibility and student choice of Subjects.

Medium of instruction up to grade 5 and preferably till grade 8 and beyond will be home Language / mother tongue/ local language
Beginning with Mathematics all subjects to be offered at 2 levels
School students will have 10 bag- less days during which they are taught a vocation of their choice (informal internship)

About Nigeria International School Cotonou

Admission begins July of each year and resumption for a new acadamic year starts in September of each year.

Admission:

In the primary school section, children of three years of age are admitted into the kindergarten class. Admission into primary one is based on the age of the child and his/her performance in the nursery.

Students are admitted into the secondary school section based on their performance at the school’s entrance examination. Transfers/admissions into other secondary school classes, except JS3 and SS 3, are considered on merit and success in a special placement examination and interview.

From your submission I believe whoever goes to the school and claims to be denied is just being ignorant or trying to cry wolf cos requirements have been stated.

I'll just say misuse of words is an issue here with all these bloggers.

And we have to define discrimination properly.

As much as theres freedom of association I as a person or business also have the right to choose who I associate with, with valid reasons it shouldn't be called discrimination or else If I xreate a WhatsApp group and refuse access to certain people is it discrimination as well?
