What I read their is referendum not annexation. They said the people have to decide for themselves not another people deciding for them. In that Biafra agitation there are Igbos not in support and some non-Igbos playing active roles so it will be wrong to associate it exclusively to Igbos not to talk of collectively.

Don't they have people that could talk for them? They have kings, house of reps, senate etc. if they want u, they will agitate for themselves.

Simple argument: If the Igbos, through the so-called Ipob, are fighting for the right to self-determination... which is germaine and admirable;

why do the same Igbos keep insisting that other tribal groups DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO THE SAME SELF-DETERMINATION? Why cant you all accept the fact that people are not Igbo and do not want to be Igbo?

It is even worse when the Igbos see the need and logic to force, coerce, blackmail, and insult other tribal groups that are geographically and demographically equal, or even larger tribal groups than them, to forcefully belong to their stock and their way of thinking.

They arbitrarily name independent and free tribal groups with Igbo names as if no other tribe can name another tribe and claim it.... just imagine what they renamed the Benin Empire, which is historically emperically and verifiably more famous than the Igbo group.... very funny and naive..hah hah ha ha hah

I will be the first to support your right to self-determination, but that same right applies to every and any other person and tribal group.

A needless piece of advice is that the world is not a church, and it is a game of dominance and survival. Every people and tribe will do WHATEVER is neccessary to maximize the probability for its survival, including enslaving, killing, rape, subjugation, dehumanization, colonization, and extermination. Every known civilization has done the same thing and is still doing the same today.

IPOB made the remark while faulting the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, and an Igala group for condemning the inclusion of the Niger Delta and Kogi State in the Biafra territories.

PANDEF had warned the proponents of the Biafra Republic against including communities in the Niger Delta or South-South geopolitical zone in their secessionist plans.

Also, the Eastern Senatorial District of Kogi State, which spoke through a group under the auspices of Igala Youth Council, condemned the inclusion of the state in the secessionist agenda.

The group noted that the viral video of IPOB outlining their plans for a 40-state Biafran nation was not only laughable but a joke taken too far.

Reacting, IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, said: “The myriad of statements purportedly emanating from some of these recruited faceless individuals on social media and belatedly from alleged Igala groups and PANDEF, disassociating themselves from Biafra is not only pathetic but laughable.

“For the thousandth time, we wish to make it abundantly clear that ancient Igboland spans 13 states of Nigeria.

“These are not areas occupied by Igbo speaking people but are ancient Igbo land with Igbo people in them. Therefore the hate inspired, politically motivated gerrymandering of borders in Igboland to create the misleading impression that Igboland and Igbo people are confined to only 5 states of the Southeast is a lie this IPOB shall confront and will continue to confront until the truth is not only acknowledged but acted upon via the instrumentality of a United Nations supervised referendum as was the case in Southern Sudan, the newest state to emerge in Africa.

“Those is Igala and PANDEF that claim they don’t want anything to do with Biafra, must also know and accept that Igboland in these territories Gowon and the British ceded to the North, Mid-West and the so-called South South will eternally be Igboland and no jupiter will change this irrefutable fact. When the Nigerian state balkanised ancient Igboland by carving these territories into their newly created ‘non-Igbo’ states, nobody complained because IPOB had not come by then.

Ojukwu taking the war to places that naturally are not Igbo land was one of the reasons why he lost the war. He was actually trying to make Lagos part of Biafra land. He was in Ondo already and that was where the defeat started coming from.
