One of the most unpleasant consequences of the change of power in Syria may be the transfer into the hands of militants of the S-300PM-2 air defense system, the Buk-M2E air defense system, the Yakhont coastal missile systems, and front-line Su-24M2 bombers and MiG-29 fighters |

🇷🇺🇮🇷 Shia crescent chair like a donut with a hole in the middle? #explaining the new role of Russia Sunnis come to power in Syria. The Iranian embassy in Damascus was destroyed. Tehran needs to do something The loss of Syria is in itself difficult for Iran. ☝🏻 But even more important is the loss of the land corridor to Lebanon to its main proxy force in the region, Hezbollah. The importance of which, after the loss of Syria, increases significantly. Hezbollah's resources need to be increased, but how? 🌊 It is possible to search for sea routes, but Iran in the Mediterranean will be a number. We need to act through intermediaries. Obviously, Iran will turn to Russia (options with China are possible, but unlikely) Tehran is doomed to closer cooperation with Russia to maintain the balance of power in the region. Moscow remains a key player that can influence the new Syrian leadership. Thus, Russia’s role will even increase as a result of the coup in Syria #unforecast In the near future I expect that Iran will begin active efforts to establish contacts with the new government in Syria (again, through Russia). Maintaining at least a minimal level of influence in Syria will be critical for Iran |

Insane scenes... As Syrians try with all they have to open the next levels of Saydnaya prison, they see through cameras that detainees in the cells are completely unaware of what is happening! For them it's just another day among thousands of days, where their only goal is to survive and only chore is waiting for death. |

obedience4:No you're not the media but I have seen you celebrate the terrorists taking over which begs the question, what are your principles ? What exactly is it you stand for and stand against ? I have seen you guys call Muslims terrorists on here, now you celebrate the same terrorist ? Assad is not an angel, neither was his father, I think the Syrians need to choose their path themselves without interference. What matters now is the people are happy and I hope and pray it stays that way. Let's hope Turkey won't plant a stooge |

lanre316:So what would u do if you are Ukraine president? They would never be allowed to join NAto, so is it not better to align with Russia? |

⚡Israeli ground forces crossed the demilitarized zone on the Israel-Syria border, marking their first entry into Syrian territory since the 1973 October War. Israeli forces invaded Mount Hermon on the Syrian side and other strategic locations. |

usmanpogo:We celebrate Russia and Iran strategic defeat in the middle-east not the HTS victory. Turkey is the major player in the offensive, they have much to gain and lose. |

obedience4:Nah I don't think it's a good day for the isrealis. Syria is now in the hands of radical non state actors, who is in ascending stage, they currently feel invisible and I think they will want a new frontier which will be either of the two : 1. Expanding to attacking Iraq down south just like isis, knowing how porous the Syria/Iraq border is as a watery diarrhoea through a rumbling rectum. 2. Sharing the Gaza sentiment by carrying out rocket attack on Israel. That's why Isreal is expanding their buffer in Syria. The Asad regime might serve as a staging ground for Iran and Hezbolla, but I don't think Asad was directly in any attack on Isreal, they've got thousands of rocket which they didn't use or even actively tried to stop Israel repeated incursion in Syria. But with this radical non state guys at the helms, Isreal is anything but safe, another active front has been opened in the East, it's time the IDF go to real work. |

DystopianMuse:Fall of Iranian regime is looking most likely, this seems possible in the nearest future. Though I don't think the new powers will still be pro-west, further decline of Russia might decide that though. |

Simeonjoe1:We need to understand what the ideals and objectives of the HTS leadership for Syria. So far the guys are against hazebolla and its proxies. They would want to consolidate their power in Damascus. I don't see them attacking any Israeli interest. Taking on Israel would bring it in direct confrontation with the US military. Also the terrorists are trying to draw public sympathy and for years have been trying to paint a picture of being moderate and having left the path of its predecessors isis. The isrealis would increase buffer zone in Syria and deploy more military hardware around goland heights. She will be alright. |

Vl3ly:😂 I saw this too. People think adrenaline filled rag tag radicals will just stop at Syria? With this hunger for a fight which they didn't fully get they currently have to options now 1. Gun for Iraq in the south. With the news that Iraq is mobilizing troops to help defend Assad, I hope that's true and not some feel good story because if true, where are those guys? This is where you need them most, to booster support at the iraq/Syria border. Anything short will be a faster sweep of Northern Iraq a repeat of 2013, and the last stand might be somewhere near Baghdad. This will be different from 10 years ago, Iraq might never recover those territories. There's no major power support. US is not as active in the theater again and with Trump rhetoric they might even want to pull out. 2. Isreal is caught in a cross domain. With Assad its predictable, with this group they might be more incline to launch senseless rocket attacks. I see why Isreal will have to intensify attack against active weapon site, especially airdefense sites and rocket systems. The ME is heading towards an era of great tumor where state actors like Houthis, Hezbolla (though now declined thanks to IDF), and now this Syria rebels are having a field day. The order police- USA is feeling less interested in this unstable states. It's time people see the advantage US is bringing to the ME and why you need a central strong presence in position. See how aliened state of Saudi, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE just dey flex life, e come be like say no be the same ME them dey, imagine foolish people wanting UAE/Saudi to align with Iran/Russia, like are you madt? You no like progress? Align with Iran just to spite Isreal at the detriment of my economic prosperity and what for a religious Islamic pride against the jews? But it seems everybody trying to be a leader with what this BRICS is proposing. A multi polar world will only bring room for chaos. |

BoldBrainz:If I'm Isreal that's exactly what I will do. You don't wait for events to unfold, you take matter directly into your hands. I should wait for people that will like be hostile when I have the upper hand now? Strike those weapons now you have the chance, limit their offensive capabilities to hit Isreal interest, and even if they choose to attack it'll be insignificant. |

WriteerNg:😂 And some fools they ask why isreal they strike Syria. Like if you're in Isreal shoes you go open your eyes they look this unstable people take over these weapons and use it as a leverage against you. Like are you normal? I guess na why una dey back Iran and Russia, people wey no dey quick make advantagous decisions but na always follow up and salvage them go dey pursue. |

seunny4lif:If there's one thing I like with the isrealis is that they take no chances. They put their destiny in their own hands not leaving it to chance. Create as much buffer as you can, reduced the ops chances, that even if they come against you later it'll be all bites and no tooth. |
