Despite writing the qualities he has over Kai, you keep jumping to a whole new discussion that i never started. Is that hard to see. I outlined it and you still write all these? undecided

When it comes to shooting, there is NOTHING Kai has over Lacazette. Take it or leave. Do you think the goal he scored versus Liverpool without looking at the net, Kai can ever dream of that? As for Kai, until he does double figures like Laca b2b2b, he's can't be better than Lacazette in goalscoring. That's another take it or leave it. If you guys like, laugh off my desire for a striker as usual. Thank God I've outlined the profile of the kind of striker already. Till then
Nobody is saying Havertz is the best thing after jollof rice, but u should also know that Lacazette was a shitty striker for us. Your post makes it seem like u are trying to whitewash Lacazette's image as far as goal scoring is concerned.

We can surely get better strikers than Havertz and I suggest we do, but saying a player like Lacazette would've helped us in that kind of match yesterday is okpata yarns. It's just like saying if Gabriel Jesus started the match , he would've scored too. Lacazette is similar to Jesus in lot of ways, one of which is not scoring often.

You are solely responsible for what you understood from that clear post i made. You started all this better striker talk. Go back and see the post. It is about shooting. If you continue this talk, I'll be forced to assume you disagree with that post and therefore believe Kai is the better shooter.

If Lacazette is a shutty striker, then what is Kai? There's nothing to whitewash his image with except that you look at the person playing that role and see how terrible he is.

In that Fulham game, Kai was in position to receive the ball 4 times. The one the highlights even put(to show you they saw that as a bigger chance to score) was the one he asked for the ball from Odegaard until Ode finally gave him ball but he didn't shoot. He paused enough to make a defender catch up with him and then he finally gave a wack pass to the back of the post.

Turn and shoot BECAME a turn+hesitate+hesitate more+touch ball extra 2 times+allow defender cover+ pass the ball to corner.

If the only quality needed to change the results of that game was JUST SHOOTING, Lacazette would score a brace!! Okpata ke? 😂😂😂😂😂 That okpata should be added to Kai abeg.

I know generally we need more shooters in this squad, but you can't be free 4 times and can't still make a keeper scared.

As for the bolded, i'll leave the Kai vs Lacazette debate for another day. 😎😂😂

There's no Havertz Vs Lacazette Debate happening because they are obviously not the same kind of player. I have already pointed it out to u that Gabriel Jesus who currently sits on our bench is a prototype of Lacazette.

If Lacazette was still at Arsenal, he will definitely be sitting on the bench just like Gabriel Jesus.

Those two are not the kind of players we need at Arsenal for now. You can't be seeing Jesus languishing on the bench and be yearning for a player like Lacazette.

I support Arsenal Signing a direct striker that will make us more effective in the final third, but u referencing Lacazette like he was some Thierry Henry while he was at Arsenal is laughable at best. Lacazette was the king of shaku shaku during his time at Arsenal, that he scored shots a few time does not make us lose focus of who he really was for the whole period he was with us.

If I am motivated enough, I can did through this thread and show u instances of where we lamented about how he was always doing shaku shaku, "drimbling" and not taking a shot until he's crowded by opposition defenders.

Of course, i have highlighted why i brought Lacazette into this. I complained about him too that year. I just didn't anticipate a less reliable replacement that we are all complaining about today. So yeah, i recall. Don't get me wrong. 😎
The focus is if shooting alone.... You know the rest. No need to repeat.

As for comparing GJ to Laca, or checking if Kai is/was better, the entire stats reveals a conclusion many of us will not like.

My observation is we may be unfair in assessment of Lacazette solely because of how we chose to remember him, when compared to the one currently in this team.

To me, the standards have dived.

Of course, they're all not similar, even the GJ isn't similar to Laca as well. Don't make this harder for me na.

Referencing Laca is because what we have is not it. It is not forbidden to reference a player that did double figures more than 3 times b2b for us. The ONLY player in current setup with such repeat is Saka.

As i said na you know why you think that's what i am doing. I dey Magodo, you don travel go Bombay. 😆
The reference is accurate and not an exaggeration. Thierry ke? Ehhhhhhhh. 🏃🏿‍♂️🏃🏿‍♂️🏃🏿‍♂️🏃🏿‍♂️🏃🏿‍♂️🏃🏿‍♂️🏃🏿‍♂️

Or will you be more comfy if i swap Laca for Auba or Ramsey on this SHOOTING metric? 😊🥲🙃😉😉😉

How can u sign a striker simply because of one quality? Are we retrogressing or progressing?

This ur argument get as e be. U are being disengagious if u are comparing the figures of our current strikers to what we had back then simply because our playing style has changed. We now have team where defenders and midfielders score as freely as strikers do. We do not rely solely on our defenders for goals.

At the end of the day what matters is the ability of the players and I can tell u freely that Lacazette's ability is likable to that of Jesus , but see where that has landed Jesus; on the bench!

Only God knows where ur nostalgia for Lacazette is coming from sha.

I want GM to be benched abeg. A better wing will make him either sit up or get out. You can't rely on him for a consistent outcome. It's like he dey play chess with Gunners loyalty. Cos when fans complain and face front, he'll now score/assist. Those ones will now do fast U-turn and fight those tha want him off. They'll keep changing sides on his matter, while no improvement whatsoever.

"He defends well" excuse

Saka defends way better than him and still becomes out best attack threat.

He used to be great at 1v1 but he's had 7 1v1 and lost all in last 20 games he played.

That left wing needs January window solution. It needs to come alive when things on the right wing don't.
You see that Nelli, his case is serious
To a point I was angry at him yesterday with his try your luck shots

last season is the root cause of our LHS being useless since last season

By the way, what is the difference between Eleny and £132M Rice + Merino? huh

So an Arsenal fan is seriously asking the difference between Rice and Elneny?

Maybe we should just go back to swapping Elneny for Rice, swap Mustafi for Saliba, swap Sokratis for Gabriel and Swap Kolasinac for Calafiori.

How can u watch Rice since he joined arsenal and be asking the difference between him and Elneny? 🤷‍♂️

Lol. As long as you don't see why i brought up that guy, we will never see things same. You keep making up all these funny conclusions that doesn't even align with what i wrote. If i write A, can you just look at it as A and not Æ plsss.

Besides, are you indirectly hinting that the system is anti-9s with the bolded when i can mention almost 6 other teams across this globe that are using the MA system and are flourishing? You want to make that indirect conclusion as a reason to not expect much from Kai, but at the same time, talk down on Laca whose figures none has replicated till now since he left?

Lol. Don't sacrifice the whole system to absolve Kai and Nelli. Yes everyone can score. But who should be scoring more? If a FW can't score with how this system is, they should getat. That's why we all want the carpintaahs out too. That is also why we also didn't want Sterling but our coach got him. I was here when i saw many say they don't want 9s cos of the carpintaahs we had when the system began. When same system dey across Europe with 9s that are banging goals and still spreading goals. That's what we want.

I'll still stand put on my ground that a lethal 9 will flourish in this setup, today tomorrow and more and it won't even stop the goals spreading. It will just increase the goals and options to goalscoring.

Attached is 2023/24 PFA team of the year and the same Rice was deservedly secured a spot in the heart of midfield.

Abi na this season Rice become useless with the ball?

I never said a lethal 9 should not be added to the team. I'm not even a fan of Havertz, I only applaud him when he performs well and don't go about criticizing him all year round.

If u want Arsenal to sign a decent striker who can play with the team like Isak, that's good. But u will have to point to such players available in the market at a price within the club's budget. No be say u go dey wish Arsenal to sign Isak that is either too expensive or unwilling to change teams.

It's a thing for a striker to be lethal and it's another thing for him to fit into the current team's playing pattern. It's a totally different thing for that player to be available in the market and willing to join Arsenal.

It's just funny that Arsenal will win 5-0 today and u rejoice like the rest of the fan base, but next week they play 1-1 draw and u start ur lethal striker crusade all over again. grin

We were actually discussing shooters needed in the team cause we needed one, and davep mentioned lacasera for the ‘shooting force’ and not the striking position but the ‘shooter’ in that context we were discussing

But even Me no really fancy him shooting that’s why I ask him why Lacazette, I need someone from the midfield position(Xhaka profile) that will shoot and almost blind the keeper or even throw him into the back of the net with the ball.

Obviously Rice can shoot , Odegaard can shoot and Saka can equally shoot.

However, Arteta's game doesn't require players to be shooting too often. Look closely at when there's interplay between Saka, Odegaard, Timber and Partey in the final third. They play to get so close to the opponent's goal before shooting.

If u are looking for our players that will be firing long shots often, u won't find that person in this team.

I forgot to mention Rice can also shoot as well, but I think Arteta's tactics limits the number of times he can shoot like that. If he shoots aimlessly and overturns the ball to the opponent in the process, he will hear an earful from Arteta

Twitter is way different. I see many reputable and Gunners analyst of our squad that once defended Kai now doing one funny thing....

Guess? 😹😹😹😹😹

They are referencing his shooting and goal sense

4 of them have been "this you?"d already.

Aside the focus on Kai, shooting in our squad is another hot topic among the UK based fans as well. Some focused on open play goal issues.

One old man from Tony Adams days said we do nothing through the centre so why expect goals to come through there when we can't even shoot through there.

Is it until we return to 4th tinz before many wake up?

Abi we think na only us dey dis League? Even if Liverpool and Chelsea mess up and drop eventually, the fact that they had moment to take advantage of City slip up is a sign of what to expect from them consequently. We can't even take advantage till now. If anything at all, trying to widen the gap with City should have been motivation enough to win that game.

Nowhere did i hint that i need a Laca kinda striker.

See names of 9s I've always wanted even if some don't agree with them

Victor Osimhen
Victor Gyokeres
Sesko
And now I'll face front and add Isak even if I didn't see why he was preferred to the 3 up there. I didn't want Vlahlovic and i stated why.

I'll desire these 9s and now suddenly pop up here after the Fulham game and want a Lacazette?? Habaaaa.

The team was poor. Coming here to discuss about that offside call might seem like something else. Bassey played martinelli on. I wonder how another Fulham player was used to draw the line.

You don't get? Even for shooting, Laca is still not good. According to DaveP, If Laca was in that match, he would have scored like 2 goals by shooting. This is obviously flawed as Laca himself was so poor in front of goal.

Thank you!

He was indirectly implying Lacazette would've scored in that match because he is still farming on the French league, but we all saw Lacazette in his prime and know he was not all that.

You sha like flawed arguments. Later, you will be the one at the forefront of the 'we lack mentality' crusade.

Who are these four players abeg?
Guy, there's nothing flawed about who is the better shooter. Because say we grumble for Laca that year doesn't mean some things about him are better than whoever is playing that role right now.

If you can't detect the 4 players, i got nothing to say abeg.

As for that crusade, i will continue to be at the forefront solely because it is hilarious how many gunner fans reason and think. You can't see the PTSD of the end of wenger years and still be accommodating of mediocrity at present. Many see calling out the wrongs of Arteta as a crime when the very Wenger that got us our last EPL title got a hurricane of insults, backlashes and etc. But that's just an instance

There's nothing I'm saying here to defend myself that I've not said before and I'll bolden this again

If we want to get titles, we need to equal efforts by the regulars or Outsmart them

We want to win league with forwards that can't even be doubles on Goals b2b2b? We say something over and over and it looks like overreacting.

When i started the clamor for a 9, i got laughed at here and many felt i was over projecting. Now more than half are finally arriving at this same conclusion after open play goals reduced. City in worst form and na 2points gap?

No worry. I'll keep shut for a while.

Baba U referenced Lacazette, didn't stop there and referred to him still being active in the farmers league in France. Anybody can farm in the French bro.

Let bygone be bygone.... Lacazette na our ex. grin

I welcome ur recommendation of Osimhen and Gyokeres tho
that reference was still to shooting. He still has that quality. Not the best but when compared to Kai, he's still better. Present continuous.
How that became a you said we need Lacazette baffles me.

Dave.p, i think i understand your main point and what led to the whole argument, but that mentioning of lacazette no just glue. Lacazette with all his shooting and all had 14 goals in 32 matches as his best season in Epl. And we don't need to compare him to kai, cus we all know Kai don't shoot.

You’re right about Arteta tactics limiting the shots of these players, but sometimes we need the players to apply individual brilliance if nothing seems to be working out in outlet Favour as the case was yesterday that Fulham contained us to a large extent

Everybody knows Havertz shooting is not Havertz’s strong point .

You seem like the only person here who rates Lacazette’s so called shooting ability sha . He’s a wrong example to use when looking for players who can shoot and get us goals .

We saw him struggle to do that at a time we relied on him to get us goals with his so called shooting ability .

In the last 40pages it doesn't look like every Arsenal fan here knows o.

Nawa o.
Exactly
Despite city worst form the point difference between us is not encouraging at all

That yesterday match was what made me miss Xhaka a lil cause man would’ve shot the ball from the middle or any open place around the field

Like blue ray said, Arteta tactics is what is limiting the players ability to shoot but sometimes the players should abandon some things and win anyhow
