Nice development but I thought a port would be the game changer . Anambra and Abia need ports to evacuate manufactured goods , reduce freight costs for imported goods as well as reduce over dependence on Lagos. |

Good development, it should not end up being a white elephant project |
| Re: Governor Otti Set To Build An Airport In Abia, Begins Community Engagement by jmoore(m): 9:19am On Dec 10, 2024 |
Abia doesn't need an airport. Many governors are building flyovers and airports for bragging rights. |

flyinnizam:A North East president or South East president would see a reason to open up Port Harcourt sea port, and make Abia and Anambra to have inland port due to their proximity with North East and south south. This is due to shipping goods from Lagos to North East is more expensive than shipping goods from Port Harcourt or Calabar to North East. This is why Igbos cry of marginalization. Aside that, the south east have zone have smallest number of states (5). And south south, south east, north east are marginalized in terms of train from ph to maiduguri, optimum functional seaport in PH, nigercem activation. All these things will boost economy of Eastern, (south south, south east, north east) corridor. |

BlueStripper:Inasmuch I agree it is a white elephant project, you have no clue on VAT remittance. Secondly, is it the duty of governor to force private people to come out and work? Una go dey Sokoto dey talk about Abia. Monday is busy in MOST places in Abia state. Finally, it is obvious you don't live in Abia. I reside in Aba and many roads are under construction. |

| Re: Governor Otti Set To Build An Airport In Abia, Begins Community Engagement by descarado: 9:26am On Dec 10, 2024 |
flyinnizam:Nigeria will rather go to war with south east than allow east have port. The moment that happens, lagos will collapse naturally. You know what that means. Obasanjo who masterminded all these is running around trying to right his wrong but that's too late. |

BlueStripper:is not a white elephant project oga, every serious state should own an airport even if it's for local flight is very important |

Another misplaced priority, I don't know the problem of our governors with unviable airports, what's the distance from Port Harcourt to Aba. Wastefulness is our name in this part of the world, all the airports that these governors are building up and down, of what benefits are they to the common man? Another white elephant project |

Alex Otti stop that useless airport project or the FG should stop this wastage. Asians should also reject this uselessness |

Owerri is just a stone throw from Umuahia. Owerri has an airport already. Both states were formerly one state under the old Imo State Why not invest those funds in cottage industries maximising the good job that those Aba manufacturers are doing.. This concept of overhead bridges and airports as togas of development is the shittiest thing ever. A functional rail line for cargo would make more sense since there's an airport already in Owerri |

kettykin:Anambra have functioning River Port at Onitsha which port again do you want in Anambra? As for Abia building a port is not a project state government can handle on their own as dredging of the river will cost hundreds of millions of dollars if not billions. |

This is a commendable initiative. The more airports in lgbo land the better. We must take the opportunity of Nigeria to build strategic assets that will make Biafra to start on a strong footing.South Sudan started on wrong footing because of there limited infrastructure. When Biafra arrive some of you calling these projects White elephant will understand there benefits. Some of these airports in ala Igbo could be designated for dual use purposes ( civil and military). |

BlueStripper:He is fixing every road that needed to be fixed. There are only two states in Nigeria without airport, Abia state deserves it more than many others who have it already. |
