Did you guys know that Alois Brunner, a notorious Austrian Nazi officer, was responsible for the deaths of over thousands of Jews during World War II. But what's lesser-known is that after the war, Brunner found refuge in Syria, where he was hired by the Assad family as an advisor on torture and interrogation techniques.

Brunner's past was marked by brutality. As the right-hand man of Adolf Eichmann, he oversaw the deportation of Jews from Austria, Greece, France, and Slovakia to concentration camps. His methods were infamous for their cruelty, and he was known to have personally tortured and killed many of his victims.

Despite his horrific record, Brunner was able to evade capture and assume a new identity in Syria. He became an advisor to the Syrian government, providing guidance on how to suppress opposition and dissent. It's alleged that Brunner's expertise was used to torture and interrogate Syrian citizens who opposed the Assad regime.

The fact that Brunner was able to live openly in Syria, despite being one of the most wanted Nazi war criminals, is a testament to the Assad regime's complicity.

His tactics now were carried out in Assad's prison, most especially Sednaya aka "the human slaughterhouse" where thousands were locked up including women and children who were raped and birthed kids in the prison. The rebels freed hundreds from there days ago, and I think there's still lot of them. You can read about it, and the gory photos found in the scene too

Now, some of these interactions occurred before the Syrian Civil War, when Assad's atrocities were not yet widely known. Once the international community became aware of his regime's brutality, many leaders distanced themselves from him. Right or wrong?

Nancy Pelosi's visit to Syria in 2007 was widely criticized at the time,don't know if you were still a kid at the time. Pelosi later acknowledged that she had been "duped" by Assad.

The Pope's visit to Syria was also an attempt to promote peace and stability in the region. Are you also aware that the Vatican later expressed disappointment with Assad's failure to implement reforms?

The US actively planned regime change in Syria as early as 2004. In 2005, CNN's Christiane Amanpour interviewed President Assad, when she brazenly told him that the US is funding Syrian opposition & trying to oust him in a coup.

Under George W. Bush, the US secretly recruited and funded opposition leaders in Syria. But Assad kept winning elections.

Later, US State Dept. gave millions of dollars to establish a TV station ("Barada TV" to broadcast anti-Assad propaganda within Syria.

Sunnis, Shiites, Christians, Alawites, Kurds, Armenians etc. got along with each other.
