Why my father married 30 wives – Gov Nwifuru

Governor Nwifuru said his father was once humiliated by his relatives, neighbourhoods, and the entire community as he was excelling above his equals due to his prospering farming business.

According to the governor, it was based on his villagers maltreatment or intimidation that isolated his father.

This led him into marrying many wives for companionship and helping hands in pursuit of his dreams as a wealthy farmer.

Nobody stops u from marrying more than one wife na. Some Christians marry more than one. It's a free world. Besides, marrying more than one wife is not the issue. The issue is hope u can and will take care of them accordingly? because according to the governor here, his 24siblings who are graduates like him struggled wit their mothers to see themselves through school. He provided the fertile lands for them to farm and train themselves. Give him kudos for that.

This so called modern generation that breed lazy children all because of the mindset of "I don't want my children to suffer like I did". That same mindset of spoon-feeding our offspring everything is the reason why many youths in the western societies are unproductive to the point where their countries now rely on hardworking African and Asians to grow their economies.

If the man provided his children the basics of life like food, shelter, basic education while they worked hard with their mums for higher education, that's not too bad considering the circumstances of that time.

I'm not saying we shouldn't train our children up to higher education level but we must avoid spoon-feeding them everything but raise them to be hard working and self-reliant. It serves them better on the long run.
