I have warned never to allow sahara to push you into problem with his early to publish info that are never verified and re-verified. If you rely on Wikileaks relayed by unnamed whistleblower and never scrutinized for authenticity before Obasanjo ended his tenure; you are on your own because you will look like a fool trying to prove the validity and reliability of such information after many years that even some witnesses might have died. You maybe a lawyer without sense, use your common sense first before you begin to quote laws you can't interprete well.

Now, Dele might at the end of the day embarrass himself financially because no probability he will even make N10 million even with online Amazon noise to cover his financial burden. All those very dark and very yellow social media activists should learn from this. If it were pastors he offended now, it would have been easier; but in this type of case, please; his supporters should visit him regularly with bread to maintain some balance before his bail is granted.

My follow-up to this is that if we have more persons willing to challenge the system like Mr Farotimi is daring to do, things might improve in the country.

However, I have seen Mr Farotimi make statements on TV that were wrong in the past. I knew what he said was wrong because I was physically with the source of the information - which Mr Farotimi arrogantly flayed on that television interview.

However, good people do not have to be perfect. Things have to change positively - and we must all carefully thread through the minefield.

If he doesn't have inalienable HARD EVIDENCE which can be presented in COURT, he may be really embarrassed with that way this goes.

I have problems with a few wrong remarks that I have heard Mr Farotimi make on TV in the past, but I am always in sympathetic to the iconoclastic underdog in social engineering, and I wish Nigeria the very best as we go ahead.

I don't think he will be able to finish this battle for the next 3 years because the Supreme Court/Judiciary has every reason to sue him or sanction him like every other individual mentioned or blackmailed in his book. No doubt truth may be in what he said, the issue is that he should have concrete evidence before fighting the establishment. That is how the law works. Eg you know a person is a thief, an armed robber, you cannot say he is one openly without him been caught robbing or stealing.

Dele put these guys in no position to walk away, the allegations are too weighty, and Dele continue to promote the books, one way or there other, Dele has done the maximum damage. Afe &Co needs this to force him to recant or punished. Generations to come will see the balance and pick the balance. The alternative is to have only Dele's narrations in the space there.

If Dele is a lawyer, i am very sure he knows what he is doing. Even as a learned person, he should know the meaning and implications of DEFAMATION.
The drama is just starting, it will soon get more interesting.
Dele must get solid backup evidences , fail- proof Plan B and should be prepared to face a long list of legal battles from each and every name mentioned in that book.

NO publisher in Nigeria would touch that manuscript of Farotimi's book for fear of being sued. That was why he printed and published the libellous book all by himself.
If you read that book he defamed so many people like the Supreme court justices,Aare Afe Babalola and his entire legal firm,Tony Elumelu of Heirs holdings,Olusegun Obasanjo and so many others.
There is a limit to how you can suffer from verbal diarrhea before some doctor seeks to cure you of the sickness. As someone said earlier,"He fvcked around and found out."

No evidence will be hard enough for anyone to win a court case that would prove that the courts are corrupt.
Besides, Tinubu will use this opportunity to descend heavily on Dele. I'm sure you know why.

You need wisdom to write books. God will not allow us to write books that will make us spend Christmas in prison. Achebe wrote a book, so did Wole Soyinka, but they applied sufficient satire and touch of wisdom to the writings.

Defamation & Libel laws puts the onus of evidence on the prosecution not the defendant, that's why it's a civil case in Lagos, Ekiti & Abuja. The NPF had to modify the case to cyber-stalking/bullying which is a criminal offense.
