After you upload your documents, You will be passed on to the Pre-approval stage. That stage is a pending request to allow you to schedule your interview dates. That's also the waiting phase, where you wait until you are approved with a mail informing you your request has been approved with instructions on how to proceed. You will still be asked some questions particularly if you have been refused a visa before and whether you have a valid visa and in what category. After answering those prompts, the last prompt gives you access to the dates after clicking on the location you want to be interviewed .

Has anyone noticed any significant difference in pre-approval request wait times between Lagos and Abuja? Is anyone faster?

Yes oo. I paid on the 1st of Novemberand I'm still on preapproval request. It's Lagos. Abuja is faster.
They kept on saying I should wait.

If you have this issue, go and try again, it has been resolved

I am trying to renew my F1 US visa and I was able to select an appointment date. Does anybody know how to determine if the schedules appointment is for interview waiver or regular interview?

I have being on payment approval for over a month , sending mails and chatting practically everyday .The customer care reps seems clueless on what to do, always giving different response. it quite unfortunate

Yes, there are dates based on what was allowed for us to pick from.
Dates from yesterday till the 24th.
For those that asked, MRV payments was done on the 21st of November(Thursday), got to the Pre-approval stage
on the 25th(Monday). Granted approval to schedule on the 9th of Dec.

Please is this Lagos or Abuja??

Please if you made your preapproval request after the maintenance (from yesterday) kindly update us when it gets approved.

Good morning guys, I was stuck at payment for over a week and now I've finally gone to FBN Bank to make another payment. How do I proceed after the payment? I have inputted my amnetum reference number and it says bank details successfully updated but I have not seen the calendar to book an appointment.

Please how long does it take for me to be able to proceed? Also, has anyone used fbn to pay recently? Please this is very urgent. Thank you for your help

You people have a lot of money to throw around sha…after payment it takes some time to reflect, while it varies from person to person, you should have waited till the system picks up your payment. The system is new and they are still having a lot of issues with it. Paying another one won’t help your situation in anyway as it is a system thing and not your mode of payment. Best of luck anyways. You can create ticket on the AVITS portal and chat them but they don’t have solution other than to say they have escalated your concern

You have to wait for 24hrs for the payment to reflect.

I would not have advised you to make another payment

For anyone still having "Invalid DS-160 confirmation number", cancel pending appointment and start all over after filling a new DS-160 form. That's what worked for me.

I have the following questions, pls if you can, I'd appreciate responses.

1. Pls, if anyone has successfully added applicant on this new platform (a child, to be specific), kindly share how.

2. Just to confirm, if the interview date is after the intended date of travel filled on the DS-160 form, is it advisable to fill another DS-160 form and take along on the interview date?

Not sure of question 1 but for question 2, you don’t need to fill any new DS-160

If you scroll to probably page no. 110, it's likely you find my rant here that I have called repeatedly and sent multiple emails and all they told me was to wait. Yesterday, before I went to the bank, I called customer support again and I had an honest conversation with the lady I spoke with. I told her that nothing was described to applicants on their website, especially for my case, and they just kept cooking up different conclusions during each conversation with them. One thing I picked was that, even though I was debited, it's likely it will never reflect on my portal.
According to them, I used Chase Bank and it was not issued by Citi Bank so my money was literally in the air. I spoke with a supervisor on one occasion and he told me that I would most likely need to make another payment. That day I was livid, I felt like I was scammed because they were not doing anything to help out at all (this is just my opinion) the guy was so direct when he said Nigerians should only use FBN to pay for their visa. That was where my connection was lost.
Anyway, my family and I just took our L from there. I hope it gets resolved though, but what about the time that is being wasted? Thank you to those who responded to my question, the fbn has reflected and I have moved ahead with my application.

My dear calm down, the new payment option is either you pay through FBN or card transaction.
I made my payment since 11th November and I just uploaded my i-20 yesterday. U can see how long it takes. Everyone here is sharing their update so others will learn. All schools are resuming latest 14th January so nobody wants delay either but we just have to be patient with our system.
And u didn’t have to pay another fee. He meant no harm responding to u, so chill ok👍🏼 😊

I filled the DS160 and selected Lagos as the interview location, but when I went to the new appointment website, lagos was not working as it was say "something went wrong try later". I tried to see if its the same for Abuja and I clicked a date in Abuja now they have scheduled me for Abuja. I am unable to see where to put new Abuja DS160 Barcode number..

My question is can I use the DS160 for Lagos to interview in Abuja?

Please what is the update with this? Can someone interview in Lagos if the Ds160 location doesn’t change from Abuja?

Seems mine is somehow different from yours ooo. I payed my mine through bank deposit and I use First bank that was generated for my profile. But till now is yet to reflect and I don't know what to do like this

I paid from another bank too and it reflected, I don’t know who is giving such info but irrespective the bottom line is, whether you pay in branch or online, it’s still the same wait unless you pay via credit card. I hope it reflects soon. It’s the system not the payment type or method. Even after payment, you will still have to wait for another pre-approval stage the best is to just be calm and be checking the portal everytime..best of luck
