an average person in most of these countries you consider Nigeria better than, lives way better than your average Nigerian. What is the point if the riches of the country doesn't reflect on its people

Learn to use chatgpt or get left behind — I learned this lesson the hard way. That's what the top publishers like legalnaira are using now. Just make sure all the information are correct and helpful. With Chatgpt, I just completed a 40k words book in less than 2 days.

When you eventually start earning big, you can relax and write manually. That's what I have decided to do after it dawned on me that the last book I published was in October and now I'm depending on one book to bring in sales.

As for power supply, you should already know how fúcked this damn country is, you're so damn lucky you have a phone (and power bank) you could use...many of us were not that lucky. Like I say to myself everyday, "keep pushing." As long as there's life, giving up isn't an option.

70% of Nigerians do not have what it takes to japa to Benin republic. So traveling to those countries listed is only for 10% of Nigerians.

Your premise differs from mine. My point is about the country in question, not the language they speak there. If the OP have permanent residency in lets say Norway, and UK, he will achieve more in Norway than the UK.

UK is just a third world country attached to London. Outside London (which is unaffordable anyway for a starter), UK is really broke. I am referring to the UK of today, 2024, not twenty years ago.

Go to reddit and youtube and see Brits complaining bitterly, and thousands moving away, even recent immigrants.

I understand the UK is one step ahead Nigeria, but if one has to choose, and if prosperity is non-negotiable, then UK should be off the table.

If you want me to paste painful statistics about present day UK, I will. Yes, it is that bad. UK should be off the table.
Please don't speak on things you don't know. My life in the UK is 100 times better than it was in Nigeria. There are numerous opportunities here. I often hear people look down on those who work as carers. I used to work as a carer to pay my tuition fees, but now I work in Tech as a Data Scientist. Don't discourage anyone who wants to come to the UK. The sky is big enough for everyone here, and you can achieve anything you set your sights on.

What you are saying is like asking an abandoned child what he has done for his poor father, shouting at the child why he decided to disown and abandoned the sick dad.

Na person wey dem train well, show love to, cared and provided for, go fit return the favour. It is not the other way around. There are processes in life, and a father training the child comes before the child training the father.

Nigeria have to do something for the citizens, so the citizens can return the favour. This is why properous countries for example have social benefits that the poorest of the poor can still live with dignity.

Until the poor pick up, pay tax, and help the system that helped him at his lowest. Its a circle, and one must come before other.

You point would have make sense if you are talking to Davido or DJ Cuppy, because Nigeria has blessed them, and they dare not complain.

Take your time
Apt.

Very well said! Your intelligence acumen is fire.

Edit: It is still within Davido's and Cuppy's rights as citizens to depend on the government, and not the other way round.

It is still within their rights to complain should things turn out differently than they anticipate.

When we get there, we abide by their rules, but here, we act anyhow, untill we start doing something individually to change Nigeria without expecting anything apart from the growth of the country, Naija go still remain like this.
you just dey speak English. Look around you what can you do without money? Even the worst protest you would be arrested. Omo Nigeria is equal to zero.

He is telling the truth. I have a friend here, he has yet to balance himself since he got there in March.

He says bill and taxes will take all your money + feeding and transportation. If you skip work, salary will be deducted.

We can be better than those countries, just that everything in Nigeria is bastardized
When one relocates, it takes at least 5 years for you to actually start realising the amazing benefits.

Expecting that you'll be successful immediately relocating is naive and frankly stupid. Although, highly skilled people can achieve this, they are an exception to the rule.

Give your friend a few years and you'll see the difference.

So na the citizens wan change the country!
Your generations will be here till the year 10,000, and nigeria will still not change.

Its the leaders and those closer to the leaders that can change the country and not the citizens(common man)!

Nairaland fast becoming an agenda dumpster. Every single post on the frontpage is driving one agenda or the other.

OP has a word for the "APC bot" that were replying his comments, but none for his neighbours who enjoyed steady light but refused to pay for it (similar to all those farmers who got loans from Nigerian government but often refuses to pay back and on top of it prefer to sell their harvests to Niger and Chad), or even for himself who couldn't care less about his offline Nigerian neighbours (that he can see) since he has access to a bet shop and a powerbank, but cared enough to advise his online Nigerian neighbours (that he can't see) to Japa if they can.

Talk about politicising everything but the thing is, you all can continue to pretend that this is all for the love of the country or its citizens but you guys are as transparent as a glass. Next agenda, please.

Guy, e be like say you come from very rich family, na make you dey yarn this stuff wey you just post so.
Or, if you are an average man, maybe you are living in ignorance. You don't get information about happenings.
Kingju:
Truth is we can insult and abuse Nigeria as much as we want, nothing would change. Look at most average Nigerians, very lazy, greedy and extremely wicked. Yet we'll come out and start attacking the country at every slight opportunity, how do you expect the country to work, we claim our leaders are wicked, who voted them, who created an avenue for them to bend the law? We give nothing to the country yet expect so much from the country. Meanwhile we're constantly running to countries where their citizens sacrificed a lot to get it to where they are. Give us chance to go to those countries we all want to go to, overtime we'll run them down, because we still carry that same mentality of always wanting to take without contributing and we expect magic to happen.

You said my question would have made sense if i was asking dem Davido, are they not humans? Haven't they done something for the country? The question is directed at every Nigerian, go out and ask most Nigerians this question, then you'll realise why we are where we are.

Nigeria has already provided you with life already, it is left for you to make something out of it. Then again, the question still stands, what have you done to make Nigeria better?
Re: Japa Now: Leave If You Can [pics] by Nobody: 3:19pm On Dec 12, 2024
Op just so you know people are struggling in almost all countries of the world. Read or watch the news of countries like USA, Canada, Italy, Luxembourg etc there is high cost of living, plenty taxes and depression in those places. Nigeria is not the best of places but don't push the Japa thing like it's the best solution ever. If you can afford it Japa if you cannot face your front with your life, no let anybody pressure you
Re: Japa Now: Leave If You Can [pics] by Love800(m): 3:20pm On Dec 12, 2024
Job nor dey Finland?
tosinhtml:
The number one question that should be asked is, are there jobs in Norway compared to the UK. If you use LinkedIn as your research tool, It is 80/20 result. The only country in the UK that has higher job rates than the UK is Germany & most jobs are in Berlin. Berlin is also super expensive & salaries are much higher in the UK than Germany, I can tell you for a fact.

If you cannot secure a proper job that gives you adequate income, all the statements you're making doing does not cut it.

Norway is also super cold, same as Finland. Then people will have to learn Finnish or Norwegian and Sami. They have less jobs that UK or Germany, so please what exactly does anyone gain by having access to fewer jobs.

My friends that ran to Finland have all ran back.

Also we are immigrants & not British, they are all running away to places like America for greener pastures because they have the British passport, so how does that compare to regular immigrants in the UK?!

Let me ask you a question, since dem born you reach now ehn, what exactly have you don for Nigeria?? What exactly have you contributed to see that the country move forward??

We keep judging our country forgetting that those countries we are running to, their citizens were responsible for where they are today. You dey talk say you no send your area people because nobody gree contribute to pay for light even though una dey get light. You decide to fashi dem because you get power bank. You never go there, you don dey post pics of yansh and snow, shea you see the average Nigerian mentality?

Na why Trump go deport plenty people be this, go back to your country and fix it
This is a disingenuous rebuttal. While it's true that the citizens of those countries listed built their countries, it is shallow to think that the Nigeria we were born into was designed for us to make a difference. You failed to take into consideration that you cannot build on nothing, and to even build from the scratch, Nigeria will remove the scratch because how dare you!

Don't be selfish in your thinking, don't lie to yourself, open your eyes to your environment and do away with shallow thinking. Don't be unfortunate

Is there any part of my post that says there is harm in speaking pidgin? huh

I don't even mean to take a shot at you in particular, but these are the issues. You can't even settle down to properly read and digest 5 lines.

For clarity, my post does not suggest that people should not speak pidgin. My post suggests that there is a problem when pdgin is the only form of English you're comfortable with.
Then how did you know pidgin is the only form of English OP is comfortable with? Because according to your post, you already profiled him which made you to shake your head and almost not reply him.

Bro, abroad is not so bed of 🌹 and it’s not always greener at their side… but I agree with you… abroad has lots of advantages than Nigeria or Africa as a whole…

One secret about japa is that if our Naira appreciates today like $1 to #100. I can tell you for fact.. many people will return back to Nigeria…

But whatever you do, if you hav a link or u get the opportunity, pls leave…

Abroad will not make you a millionaire but it will really change your destiny to something worthwhile
I really do not like to discourage or encourage anybody about Japa especially to the UK. The truth is the UK is still far better than any top in Nigeria except if U are a politician. U may start with menial jobs to pay Ur rent and bills but with time U should be able to move to bigger things. I think the problem with many Nigerians is that their expectations on Japa is too much. U can't get the money U spent in one month. U will meet difficult times but U will prevail with determination. But U see Nigeria one thing or the other will frustrate U especially the government. Government that is fast to increase fuel price but took several months to add 30k to staffs salary. If Una likes Japa if Una likes no Japa. Stay until one tears from right eyes enter left
