South Africa generates part of its power from nuclear power...

Also, ESKOM is now struggling to meet demand. Blackouts have been a thing in Azania.
It's a norm in Nigeria though. They are not mates when it comes to blackouts bro

South Africa also charges cost reflective tarrifs, something we don't do here, which is why we cannot generate the 88000 mw of power we need for 24 hour a day light.

Grid. Collapse, Grid collapse, what brings about Grid collapses in the systems.
Is it Transmission lines systems. No,!
As at today, how many power generation systems capacity do we have in the country. Nigeria a Country the 6th world most populated with over 200million people in need of over 200000Mw of electric power supply but with just less than 5000Mw, how will there be no collapse when any of the said power supply Stations with just Producing about 5000Mw has power generation supply failure the next result will be system power supply collapse as the total load capacity will be less than 3000 or 2000Mw.
With the said coming 150Mw by January is no solution to power supply systems in Nigeria.
For fair solutions let the Southern Governors proposals to go into a 90000Mw power supply productions take up as proposed, and the Northern States Region governors also go into process proposals with the Federal Authority systems operations also go ahead with solutions, Nigeria 🇳🇬 is in need of large supper power supply systems productions.
See power supply capacities of Brazil and Mexico the 7th and 10th world 🌎 population capacities.

Only in a shithole country does anyone think a minister is not a hire and on the payroll of the citizens. I am not suprised at your thinking.

south africa never had blackouts, but had power rationing(loadshedding)

however thats the thing of the past those days are long gone, this is the 10th month of uninterrupted power supply. we no longer have power issues.

I think Nigerians problems for electricity is not affordability but availability. If it's available but expensive like our call cards we would still buy it. A lot of things are expensive here because of lack of regular electricity as companies now mostly operate with either petrol or diesel. Now tell me which product will be more expensive?
Electricity or Diesel

It will only add numbers to the total capacity. I know I will not feel the impact. Solar till further notice.
